DeJuan knows he’s a talented guy. He can sing, dance and do pretty well with a pencil and paper, cartoons being his drawing specialty. DeJuan loves attention so you’ll often see him bust a random move out on the street, hear him sing at random moments. He’s found throughout the years that women like a talented man and DeJuan uses that to his advantage. He likes to entertain and he likes to impress people and can easily do both whenever he sings and dances. It’s one of his careers and his main focus right now. So naturally he gets a lot of attention from the ladies for it. So he’s very used to having his picture taken and signing autographs. He loves his fans and getting his picture taken. Hell he’s a bit of a camera whore as well. If someone else isn’t taking his picture, then he’s taking one of himself. At the end of the day DeJuan’s an entertainer and this applies to his personal life as well. Granted, he doesn’t get all sour when the spotlight isn’t on him. DeJuan’s may like attention but he’s not a hog, he’s willing to share the spotlight a bit. Plus he can’t have all the attention or else he’d have no privacy. And privacy is something he likes and appreciates every now and then.

It’s guaranteed that if you’re hanging out with DeJuan there won’t be a dull moment. He’s a silly and goofy guy who loves to have a good time. Although, he is the goofiest when he’s around his family and very close friends; he’s always cracking jokes and doing weird things to make people laugh. He’s the kind of guy who tends to do what he wants without fear of judgment. He knows that no matter what there’s always going to be judgmental people in the world but they don’t matter to DeJuan. It’s important to him that he stays true to himself no matter what people say. He embraces his inner dork while most people are afraid to because they don’t want to be made fun of. Well, DeJuan does his own thing without a care. He doesn’t care if you call him weird or a dork because he’s got “don’t give a shit” written in neon letters on his forehead. There’s no point to caring what other people think because not everyone is going to like you, so he figures that he might as well be himself. Why change for someone? If you have to change yourself to be accepted by someone then it’s not worth knowing that person.

DeJuan has always been a pretty protective person, especially when it came to his younger brother Scotty. But ever since his brother’s death, his protective instincts seemed to have leveled up. Even though he and his twin sister are now the youngest of the Johnson family, DeJuan is still extremely protective of them. He’ll always have his family’s back and if you fuck with one of the Johnson’s then you’re fucking with all of them, DeJuan especially. DeJuan took Scotty’s death really hard and even though it happened about six years ago, he’s still beating himself up about it. And no matter how many times his family tells him it’s not his fault, he doesn’t believe them. Which is why he is so protective of them, he doesn’t want anything like what happened to Scotty to happen to any of his other siblings. Plus, he just doesn’t appreciate anyone who thinks they can hurt his family in any way whether it’s physically or emotionally.

A go-getter for sure, DeJuan does whatever he can to get what he wants whether it’s a girl, a part for a movie, or a platinum album. He’s a dreamer but is also willing to put in the hard work needed to make his dreams come true. Growing up with hardly anything has taught him that nothing can be done without hard work. He had to work for everything that he wanted when he was a kid because he knew that his parents didn’t make enough to provide six kids with everything they wanted. DeJuan got his first job at age 15 and ever since then, his work ethic has only grown. During the day you’ll catch DeJuan in the studio working on a new song or getting ready for a show or working on a film. DeJuan plans to outwork everyone who dares stand in his way of stardom. He believes strongly in what his dad would always tell him when he was younger; you’ve got to work hard to play hard.

OUTSPOKEN;;
DeJuan isn’t one to keep things inside in regards to his opinion or just random thoughts that pop in his head. He says what’s on his mind without really thinking and sometimes the things he says are offensive. It isn’t until after he says it that he realizes it could hurt someone’s feelings and depending on the person, he’ll apologize repeatedly. DeJuan doesn’t speak to deliberately hurt someone unless he’s really pissed at someone. It just happens because his mouth is a little quicker than his brain. I guess you could say he’s a little witty. But if he happened to be talking to someone he isn’t particularly fond of then he feels an apology would be unnecessary. And if it’s really serious then DeJuan would have no problem starting a little quarrel. He likes to fight a little more than the average person. So this sometimes makes him come off as a little rude. But really there aren’t too many people that he dislikes because he’s pretty easy to get along with. When around him, he’s a bit on the random side. He’ll tell you what he’s thinking about in an instant though when it comes to his deeper feelings he’s not very open.

With a huge love for the ladies, DeJuan is a bit of a playboy. But it’s not to the degree that most people would think. He’s a huge flirt and will flirt with just about any girl that comes along, he doesn’t really care who she is. Flirting comes natural to DeJuan so it often leaves him in a predicament where there a lot of girls in his life who think that he likes them. It’s not necessarily the case. DeJuan isn’t really looking for a serious relationship at the moment, so he’s viewing this time of his life as a time where he needs to have fun. Although that doesn’t mean he likes to sleep with a shit ton of women, in fact he doesn’t like to sleep with a lot of women. He’s more into sleeping multiple times with a couple of women, it’s safer that way. He’s perfectly fine with making out with a shit ton of women though, which is how DeJuan gets the image of a “player”. People see him making out with girl after girl say at a club, and people see that and assume that he takes them home. Really he just enjoys making out. There are only a select few women out there that he has slept with and would be willing to sleep with. Granted if he were to be in a relationship, he’d be completely loyal. He’s no asshole, he just hasn’t run into someone he finds girlfriend material. So for now he’d just continue to have fun.

DeJuan and his fraternal twin sister Felisha were born on March 21st, 1987 to Damien and Tashiana Johnson in Chicago, Illinois. They were born into a family of five and were fairly poor. Growing up, DeJuan’s parents didn’t have enough money to provide him with what he wanted; the best they could do was work for what the family absolutely needed. His father worked in a factory while his mother stayed at home to take care of the children. So DeJuan didn’t necessarily grow up with much. He wasn’t like the other kids who had fancy toys and clothes. But he had a big family to keep him company. Three years after DeJuan’s birth, the youngest and last of the Johnson siblings was born. All of the kids of the family worked as long as they were able so they could help bring in money to keep the family at least a little bit comfortable. As DeJuan grew up, he grew extremely close to all of his siblings, especially Scotty. They were the babies of the family so naturally they shared a very tight bond. They would do everything together; the whole family knew how tight they were.

In elementary and middle school DeJuan was a bit of a trouble maker. He had issues with taking direction and never wanted to be told what to do. It had gotten to the point where DeJuan wouldn’t listen to anyone unless they were a part of his family. He looked up to his big brothers and would do whatever they said in a split second. But when it came to other authority figures, DeJuan wouldn’t give them the time of day. But DeJuan began to grow up and realized, after his parents kept repeatedly telling him to get his act together, that he had to respect people other than his family. It was common courtesy. So in middle school, DeJuan did a few school activities. He was involved in basketball and because some sort of elective was required, he and Felisha joined the choir. He figured he could just stand there and lip sing and it would be an easy A. But in joining the choir, during the voice tests to place the kids in soprano, alto, tenor, or bass, DeJuan discovered that he could actually sing. The more he participated the more he actually liked and enjoyed singing. He and his sister would perform duets at concerts, wowing the audience every time. DeJuan began to focus less on basketball and more on his singing. He wanted to pursue it as a career.

DeJuan started putting himself out there more, doing talent shows and performing for local events. His pursuit for a recording contract ended when he was sixteen. He was signed to Jive Records. DeJuan’s rise to popularity was underway and he couldn’t have been happier. Two years passed and his family was finally beginning to make its way out of lower class and into middle class. But it wasn’t all DeJuan’s doing. His older brothers had gotten into acting and his sister was also doing well with her singing career. It was a family full of talent and it didn’t take long for them to be all over the TV screens of America. The baby of the family, Scotty was starting to get into a little bit of both singing and acting, set to follow the footsteps of his siblings. One day when DeJuan and Scotty were walking down the street on their way to grab a bite to eat, their lives changed forever. It was late at night, probably too late to be walking around Chicago but DeJuan figured it would be okay. He was eighteen at the time and deemed himself qualified to walk his little brother to Mcdonalds for a late night meal. It was Scotty’s favorite place to eat so how could DeJuan deny him?

They were almost to McDonalds when gunshots were heard close by. At the time, they didn’t know what the shooting was about but later found out that it was a drug deal gone bad. Long story short, Scotty had unfortunately got caught in the crossfire and was shot in the side of his head. He died instantly. DeJuan took the incident the hardest, openly blaming himself for his little brother’s death. He had to go to therapy for two years because of it. Though DeJuan only put up a façade that he was getting better, just so he wouldn’t have to go anymore. No matter how many times he’s told it wasn’t his fault, he just doesn’t believe it. If he hadn’t taken him to Mcdonalds, it wouldn’t have happened. End of story. But for the sake of his family, he keeps his doubts to himself and pretends to be alright now. He’s still singing and due to his rise in popularity is even getting a little bit into acting on the side, currently living in Los Angeles.
