With three younger siblings and a single parent she has always been the one that has to watch over them. Nora adores kids. She also has a strong maternal instinct for everyone she lets into her heart, young and old alike. At times she has to work hard not to meddle or seem like she's babying her friends, but her heart is in the right place. imaginative - Nora was acting long before she started theater. When she was young she invented all sorts of stories and games and took the roles of cop, robber, pirate, magical princess, or any number of others. Playing pretend and using her imagination was always her favorite game. As she grew older, that big imagination never dwindled although she had to put aside the childish fantasies. Acting gives her an outlet for her creative side. spirited - Nora has a bright spirit. She's spunky and quick-witted. She doesn't back down from a fight when it really important. She has a playful and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor. She's very sweet and friendly, but she'll also take the piss out of someone for a laugh. committed - "Go big or go home" is something you might hear Nora say. Once she becomes involved with something, she is very passionate and attached to it. Rarely does she not finish something that she starts. She works very hard on her acting, and is always committed to improving herself. She hates when people don't respect their craft, and don't work hard for it. independant - Nora has always had to take care of herself. Her father, although he tries very hard, is guilty of the pitfalls of being a single parent. Being the oldest of four children, Nora received the least amount of guidance from her father. While she doesn't do perfectly for herself, she doesn't need anyone to tell her what to do. WEAKNESSES stubborn - Nora is the type of girl who never backs down. Sometimes this gets her into trouble. At times she's so focused on preserving her pride that she doesn't see the bigger issue. There are times to be stubborn and times to let go, and Nora doesn't know the difference. She has trouble accepting help from anyone, and insists that she can handle things by herself. shy - Nora's shyness comes in direct opposition with her dream of being a famous actress. She has had to conquer a fear of public speaking in order to pursue her dream. When Nora is portraying a character, she can let go. It's when she has to present herself to the world that she struggles. She has trouble with interviews and press. She is also awkward at meeting new people, and somewhat introverted. While she appreciates good company she grows tired after being around others for a long period of time. meddlesome - Being the caretaker for three younger siblings, Nora had to learn how to know what was going on with everyone all the time. This is a trait that has stuck with her. She can be quite nosy and inquisitive about other people's private business. She also doesn't know how to leave a person alone when they're struggling with something. She's the kind of girl that will bother someone if she sees they're upset until they reveal what the problem is. self-sacrificing - Nora is all about her family. She would do anything for them. It took a lot of budging and persistence from them to convince her to leave to follow her dreams in the first place. At the drop of a hat, Nora would give up her acting career to go and help her family if she needed to. In that way, her strong family ties are her strength and her weakness. bossy - Nora likes to tell others what to do. She gets frustrated easily when people don't listen to her or take her advice. This came in handy when she was taking care of her siblings, but outside the home it can be quite a nuisance. SKILLS Nora started doing musical theater in high school which is when she learned to sing and act. She's also had formal training in tap dance. She speaks fluent German. She learned before her father was transferred there for work, to make the transition easier. She had to perfect her German quickly in order to do theater in school there. EXPERIENCE Nora had always been imaginative from a young age. In high school she took an acting class to bypass a speech requirement. Not only did she not yet speak fluent German, but she was terrified of public speaking, and acting seemed somehow less painful. Starting off shy and timid, by the end of the semester Nora performed a passionate monologue. The instructor was so impressed he recommended she try out for theater. Nora fell in love almost instantly. She did musicals with the school theater group all four years of high school. She went to school in Oxford to study drama. Her professors were very impressed with her and recommended she get an agent and try her luck in Hollywood. After school she moved to L.A. So far she hasn't had any major roles, but she keeps her fingers crossed. |
