Pheebs was in Los Angeles and well Nicholas and her had a little history, she liked his book and he went over a couple of times and chatted to her, they had a little wine and it was nice. A few times she tried to make a move on her and he rejected, telling her she was better than this. Though he felt like she would kick his ass now as he was not the guy she knew, he was drinking too much, sleeping with women that he didn’t even care about and just basically didn’t give a shit anymore. So he called her when she told him that she was in LA and said to meet him in this simple pub that he knew and they got to know him very well now and he headed there and was looking forward to see her. He sat on one of the bar stools and ordered himself a pint of beer and waited for her, having it set in front of him he took a large swig before he set it down and paid the man and grinned letting the alcohol hit the spot in his chest, something that he craved now, also he was nursing a pretty harsh hangover.

Being in LA again was great, Phoebe had to admit. It wasn't as great without Jack there to entertain her, but she managed her own entertainment, which was generally a bad idea. When she got bored, that's when things went downhill relationship-wise. But she wasn't going to be bored tonight - she was meeting Nick at a pub he said he was fond of. In all honesty, she was worried about him. He definitely wasn't being himself, and if she weren't involved with Jack, she would have gone in for the kill. She'd put the moves on him before, but he'd rejected her, which wasn't something she usually took lightly. But Nick was a nice guy, and a good friend to her. Moreover, he was hot. No, she didn't need to think about that. She shook her head at herself as her heels clicked their way into the pub. Naturally, upon walking in, she turned a couple heads, but ignored that altogether. Seeing Nick sitting at the bar with a pint of beer wasn't something she'd really wanted to see. Watching a friend go down the tubes was something she'd done before, but this. This was.. steep. She walked up behind him, taking the stool next to him. "Any more and you're gonna drown there, kiddo," she teased at him with a smirk, trying to lighten the mood.

Nicholas wanted to leave LA, many times he had thought to just pack up and go and no one would miss him, but then he realised that this was his home, he could move to Germany, England even the North Pole and he would still miss Blake, so he might as well stay where he was and where his friends were. He couldn’t wait to see Pheebs, it had been a while and yes the contact was distant since her on and off relationship with Jack and Nicholas being with Blake. A lot of people had been worried about the recently turned twenty four year old, and they had a good right to be worried, he was not himself, he hardly drunk anyway and now it seemed to always be a alcohol festival in his mind, with random hook ups and not completing any of the work he had been wanting to complete for over a couple of months now. He didn’t hear Pheebs until she was right next to him and caught just in time what she had said. ”Wow, when did you become caring?” he said with a cocky smirk over to her before looking at the bartender who was pacing up and down the counter serving the regulars that were there tonight. ”You want a drink?” he said glancing back to her.

She crossed her legs gracefully now that she was perched atop the bar stool, looking over at her blonde-haired friend. He looked awful. She reached out to ruffle his hair, rolling her eyes at his question. As much as she was denying it, Jack was changing her, little by little. "When did you become an alcoholic?" she retorted right back. Phoebe was certainly no idiot, and she could see that he hadn't been sober in quite some time. She knew just was well as anyone who liked a drink that being drunk didn't go away just because you hadn't drank in a while; the signs stayed with you, and Nick was making no attempts to cover them up. "Sure, I'll have what you're having," she said with a glance at the bartender. Upon making eye contact, he nodded and got to work on her drink. She folded her hands on the bar, playing with her ring a little. "So what's up?" she asked, knowing it was kind of an awkward (and terrible) question right now, but Phoebe had never been good at making conversation that wasn't about sex, or some topic close to it.

Her hand reached to his blonde locks and ruffled them softly before he looked over to her. She asked him another questions, he scoffed a little and took a long swig of his beer before looking over to her and shrugged ”The second I realised Blake wasn’t coming back” he admitted as he looked down on his ice cold pint and had a moment to just sit there, thinking of what he used to have with someone, with Blake. He didn’t try to cover up that he was a mess, he didn’t really care what people thought of him currently, he was just a writer, a washed up writer that no one cared about, simple really. So why make an effort when he didn’t want too, he didn’t want a girlfriend anymore, as he thought they were just too much hassle, and he was starting to realise very quickly that being the bad guy, the general asshole was so much easily than letting his heart get hurt all the time. ”Nothing that a couple of beers can’t fit” he admitted before looking her over ”You look good Pheebs”

At his staunch response, she raised a brow. Love was a harsh game, and though many wouldn't believe it, she knew all about it. She'd been in love once, and it crushed her like it did Nick. She was much the same, but she let it harden her over the years until she became so unlovable and opposed to the whole idea she couldn't let people care about her. Although Phoebe Grace had never been a compassionate person, she wasn't above caring about people she was close to. "Nick, baby.." she said, cocking her head to the side. She felt bad for him.. honestly, who wouldn't? He was a fucking mess. Pheebs just knew she wasn't the one to take care of him. She didn't know how to do that.. Jack didn't need taking care of except for in bed, and she knew damn well how to do that. Her drink was served to her when he said beer could fix his problems. She knew it couldn't.. but she wasn't going to stop him. He was a grown man, he'd make his own decisions. "Right," she said dismissively as she took a healthy swig of her own drink. "You don't," was her quick response to his compliment, coupled with the slightest flinch at being called by her first name. She reached over to take his hand off the drink. "Baby you gotta smile again," she said, trying a smile of her own as she brushed her fingertips against his cheek gently. God she was bad at this.

He played this game for a long time now but it never hit him this hard, now he was just a mess and he didn’t really understand why since he had been through this before. But I guess none of the other girl’s had really been Blake, well the ones he got engaged too. When she said his name he looked over to her before her head cocked to the side, he watched her as she took a swig of her own before hearing her tell him that he didn’t look good, though he didn’t really need anyone to point that one out to him, he was pretty sure he was doing ok at fucking his own life up right now. Her hand took his from his drink which automatically made his eyes look at her before her fingers brushed against his cheek as she told him that he needed to smile again ”I just don’t feel like it right now” he spoke as his eyes moved away from hers and down to the counter. ”Anyway” he said trying to mask his hurt and looked at her and smirked a little, ”How are you and Jack?” he didn’t really know what to say anymore, I mean he would jump her bones to feel better but she was in a relationship now, and it would only make him feel good for a short time.

Phoebe wasn't one to open up about her past. No one knew about it, save for Phoenix, but that's because he lived it with her. She wasn't ashamed of it, she just had trouble finding the relevance of digging up ancient history. She rolled her eyes a little at him, turning around on the stool to lean her elbows on the bar so she could see him without having to turn. She sipped at her beer as well, watching his facial expression. "Gotta start sometime," she reminded him with a bit of a shrug. When he brought up her relationship with Jack, she had to stop herself from grinning like a fucking teenage girl. "Eh," was her response. The truth: she was enjoying it more than she would ever admit to any human being. "We're us," she added with another shrug. It was obvious she was feeling a lot more than she let on, but she wasn't going to elaborate on it. Maybe Nick would just let it go. "Soo.. since I can't grace your genitals with mine, how can I make you feel better?" she asked with a smirk. She was trying hard to help her friend, but she just wasn't good at it.

He was happy for her, for the fact she found someone that made her happy even if it was Jack Bailey and even if that all he knew about him was that he was called a jerk by most of the papers he noticed that Pheebs was not the most innocent person in the world. She moved in her seat and it made him watch her a little, she was sexy, sassy and damn right beautiful and though he had turned her down so many times he regretted it now. Though he knew it would have only ever been for one night, seeing as they seemed to be from different worlds. ”I’ll try” he said in response to him trying to smile more and he would in time. He did actually smile when she said so little about her relationship, ”Your whipped” he said with a smirk before laughing a little and drank a little more of his beer before looking away slowly. The next thing that passed her lips did make him smile a little ”Shame about the genitals part” he winked over at her before scratching the back of his next and actually took in the last part of her sentence before looking over at you ”you being here is actually doing me a lot of good, I missed you Pheebs”

Pheebs was convinced that's why she and Jack worked so well together. They were two of the same breed, almost completely the same. Though right now, Phoebe was definitely wishing she were single. Nick was ripe for pouncing, and with his sort of broken state, he was kind of sexy. It was a rugged side of Mr. Bradshaw that she hadn't seen before. At his easy quip about her relationship, she sat forward, tilting her head and giving him a 'did you really just say that about me' look. "Nick, come on, I am not," she said matter of factly. There was no way Phoebe Grace was whipped.. okay, well maybe there was. And if there were anyone she could tell about it, that would be Nick. But it was nice to see him smile, then even laugh about it. She frowned a little. "Rain check.. whenever I dump the bastard again," she said with a bit of a laugh. There, see? She was threatening to dump Jack again. Not whipped. "Well good," she said, cupping his jaw with her hand to brush her thumb across his cheek. "Cute boys shouldn't be depressed," she returned the wink at him and took a swig of beer. "Yes, I called you cute." She chuckled and rolled her eyes a little.

Nicholas had thought before that he could see himself with Pheebs, there were a lot of moments in their friendship where he saw a different side of her, and honestly having tons of sex wouldn’t go a miss at the moment. He called her whipped, he wouldn’t have really done that before but he was a little different at the moment, when she spoke he grinned a little and looked over towards her direction. Then she said about a rain check before he gave her a cheeky wink and sipped some of his beer ”can’t wait” he smiled softly before she cupped his jaw allowing him to set down his drink and automatically looked over to her as she held his face, damn he was tempted to kiss her now, I mean she was making it hard for a man to just stay still in his seat. Her thumb brushed his cheek which made him close his eyes for longer than a moment and then opened them to look at her when she called him cute. ”Still calling me cute? I’m not cute, defiantly not right now” he spoke with a small smirk before watching her drink some of her beer.

She watched him react to her touch, and it was painful to not lean forward and kiss him, to keep her hands to herself and off his physique. She had to though.. she was happy with Jack, and she'd be damned if she was the one to cheat first. She cocked her head when he disagreed, saying he wasn't cute right now. "Au contraire," she argued in her near-perfect French accent. She'd studied the language quite a lot in school, and though people assumed she was a dumb bimbo because of her chest size, she actually had a good head on her shoulders. "I think this side of you is hot," she admitted. "Well, minus the look of misery in your eyes.. that's kind of pathetic," she ribbed at him with a grin. She finished off her beer, tilting it completely vertical to ensure all the liquid had been drained. She didn't plan on getting wasted tonight.. just buzzed. She was quiet for a second, deep in thought. "Okay.. maybe I am whipped," she admitted, a sort of bashful look in her eyes. She wasn't afraid to tell Nick what she felt most of the time.. she knew he wouldn't hurt her.

Nicholas wished he took the times before they could have had sex, now he was sitting here with all these temptations but not being able to react on them. He would never pressure her into this, she was happy with Jack and he was not about to ruin that for her, not now or ever. Just because he was hurting didn’t mean he needed to bring her down with him. He smiled when she spoke French before she then said that this side of him was hot, of course it would be for her, being mysterious and confused, damaged and slightly horny was always good for women like her, it was like she stalked them when she was not with Jack, as they were easier to get into bed. Then she said about the misery in his eyes before grinning softly and looked at her ”That might have to change then” he spoke with a light chuckle before she finished off her beer and so did Nicholas, he was drinking a lot more slowly than usual. Then out of nowhere, she admitted she was whipped before he looked over at smiled gently. ”I’m really happy for you Pheebs, you deserve to be happy” he spoke like it was almost a whisper, for only her ears to hear.

It was now that she was realizing just how much she'd missed the friendship she had with Nick. It was hard for her to believe, in the beginning, that she managed to have an actual friendship with a guy without sex being involved. Hell, it was hard for her to have a female friend that she could say the same thing about either. She knew she got gender-blind when she was drunk, it was a pretty bad habit. "Good," she agreed with a sincere smile. She wanted to see Nick get better, as selfish as she could be. The people that she was close to meant a lot to her, so his depression was hard for her to handle. She never really had the drive or urge to fix it, but no one expected her to. She chuckled when he spoke softly to her, telling her he was happy for her. He was the only one she'd told about how she felt about Jack, and she wanted to keep it that way. "No.. not really. Not when he's still in love with Nina Clarke," she said, rolling her eyes a little. "But it doesn't matter," she added, placing her hand on his thigh and leaned toward him. She looked into his eyes for a moment, then over to the bartender. "Another round?" she said to him. Things were getting a little too deep for her to handle.

Nicholas liked spending time with Phoebe, she was nice person and unlike a lot of people he didn’t call her by her what people would call her stage name Olivia, he loved her first name and would call it her all the time, maybe once or twice slipping up. He had heard that she had dipped her toes in the female pool when it came to sex and no it didn’t bother him at all, she could do what she wanted and she was a friend of his and he probably knew her better than most people she was acquainted with. He didn’t like the person he was at the moment, ok he was getting more attention for the lady population and he was actually becoming more famous in the papers for the little work he was doing but this was not him, he was not the guy that went out to get pissed, he did have a good drink every once in a while. He looked over at Pheebs when she said about Jack still being in love with Nina before she then quickly followed it up with another round, her hand on his thigh tempted him more, she was hot, he wasn’t going to lie, he would treat her like a queen if he got the chance but she chose who she wanted and he wasn’t going to try and ruin it, he nodded in agreement to the next beer before finally parting his lips and spoke ”You shouldn’t get involved with someone who loves someone else, believe me I’ve been there” he said with a shrug, he didn’t know what was going on with Jack and Nina, nor did he really care.
