New York was pretty horrible this time of year. Watching the news the past few days Honor wasn't sure if going to NYC for New Years was such a good idea, people were trapped in their homes because of the snow, that's how bad it was. But she went anyways, and she was glad she did. The main streets in NYC were cleared because of the traditional ball drop, so it wasn't bad at all, but it was bitter cold, and that wasn't something she was use to, so she was well bundled up, trying to look fashionable. Chanelle came along with her because Coop was going to meet them in Times Square. The car ride was freakin' awkward because Honor had the biggest mouth in the world it seemed like. Times Square was super duper packed with tourists and New Yorkers huddled together to watch the ball drop, that and there was tons of media coverage. She had promised to meet him at a bar in Times Square. When she walked inside her mood changed from irritated because of the cold to thankful because of the warmth. The bar was packed too though. She began walking through the crowds of people, looking for a male with hunky arms and blonde hair. She asked some people that didn't look like creeps if they had seen anyone with that discription. Instead they called his name out down the bar, her eyes widened and she laughed. Everything always turned into a scene with her.

Truth be told, Cooper had absolutely no idea why he thought Times Square would be any better than Louisiana for New Years. The streets were ridiculously crowded and as far as this California boy was concerned, some people seriously needed to do something about their personal hygiene. It was foul. Cooper couldn’t really understand why he had agreed to meet Honor and Chanelle in some bar, but those two seriously had better show up soon because the place was becoming chaotic. Some people had clearly started their New Years fun a little too early in the day. Suddenly Cooper thought he heard his name being shouted across the bar. Literally it seemed like everyone was screaming his name. Well that’s kind of awkward, he thought to himself. Cooper picked up his bud light and slowly walked towards where the shouts were coming from when he spotted a familiar brunette. A smile played across his face as he went over and stood behind her. “Hey there, beautiful,” he whispered directly into her ear. Cooper doubted she would be able to hear him if he had spoken any other way. He quickly surveyed the area but didn’t see any sign of his little sister. “Did Chan bail?” he asked, wondering if Chanelle was still angry with him and Honor.

Chanelle didn’t want to be in New York. She didn’t want to see her brother. She didn’t care about New Years – although that was probably just because she had no boy to kiss.. not that she actually wanted one at the moment. There were so many things that Chanelle just didn’t want to do right then that she had trouble thinking of something that she actually did want. A movie and dinner would have been nice. Or just snuggling in the hotel back in Rhode Island. But no. Her brother wanted to see her and bought her a non-refundable plane ticket. Lovely. So there she was sitting in the car next to Honor, whom she was still not on the best terms with, on her way to meet up with her brother in a bar. Ugh. Chanelle hadn’t planned on stepping foot in a bar for another couple of years. Once they arrived Chanelle quickly managed to walk away from Honor, she didn’t want to face her brother yet. She hurried off to the ladies’ room – obviously it wasn’t the best hiding spot, but at least it would prevent creepy guys from hitting on her all night. It really didn’t make sense for her to be there at all. Did Cooper and Honor expect her to just sit there like a third wheel all night? It was kind of obvious to Chanelle that Cooper and Honor were going to be sharing a midnight kiss..

Honor loved New York, but no so much in the winter. Everyone really did smell, like they hadn't showered in days, and she didn't appreciate it. At least she knew she smelled remarkable. She heard someone in her ear, and she really hoped it was Coop because she wasn't in the mood to be hit on at the moment. She turned around and looked up to see the hunky Madison brother, and a huge smile appeared on her face. She had developed a crush on him, which for her was unusual, most of the time she just developed feelings of lust towards men. Honeslty she hadn't noticed Chanelle run off anywhere. Suddenly she felt like she'd lost a little kid. "Uh, yeah." She wasn't too worried, Chanelle knew where they were staying, she would have been a third wheel anyways, especially since she was currently mad at both Coop and Honor. "I'm sorry those guys yelled your name, I didn't tell them to..." She trailed off, looking down at her watch. "We have thirty minutes until midnight. What do we do until then?"

Cooper waited patiently for Honor’s response. He didn’t really mind that Chanelle ran off – though he would admit he was a little concerned if she was by herself in the city on New Years. Hopefully she was at least not being stupid. “We’ll have a better time without her,” he shrugged. It was probably a true statement, especially since he and Honor were not the little Madison’s favorite people right now. That was something Cooper planned to fix before they each had to go back to filming. “No big deal. Now everyone here will think I’m popular,” he smiled before taking a swig of beer. “How about I buy you a drink and then we can dance?” he suggested. Cooper didn’t really know what he and Honor were doing, but he definitely felt like he might have a bit of a crush. Or maybe she was the one with the crush? Maybe it was mutual. Cooper couldn’t say that he wasn’t familiar with having crushes.. naturally he developed them all the time; usually they led to girlfriends and then a break up. He wasn’t sure that he was really ready to go through all of that in the upcoming months. But who cares.. it was New Years and Coop was ready for a good time.

Honor didn't want to admit it, because it was true. Chanelle was a downer sometimes, she hated them anyways and would refuse to have any fun just so they would be miserable. Honor would have made the best of it anyways. She laughed at his comment about being popular. "That would be nice. I'll have a beer too then." She only wanted to drink enough to get a small buzz. "I'm bad at dancing by the way." She admitted. She was no professional at least, she had hips and she could shake 'em, but dancing? She was horrible. Chesa always said the only dance she ever knew how to do was smelling your armpit, you know, when you put your arms in the air and just move them about. That was her drunk dancing though. "I promise you'll be disappointed." She joked and glanced around the bar. "I really do wonder where Chanelle is though..." She mumbled, feeling somewhat protective of her because she knew that wherever she was she was by herself, probably being prayed on by dirty old men, or nice looking men who were douche bags.

Cooper nodded and got the bartenders attention so he could buy a beer for Honor. “A Zadian bad at dancing?” he questioned with a raised eyebrow. “I thought there was nothing you couldn’t do – well, except measure and explain how girls think,” he teased, passing her the drink that the bartender had just handed over to him. Cooper shook his head, he didn’t think he would be disappointed. She was gorgeous and he didn’t really care what her dancing skills were, the bar was absolutely packed so he doubted they would be able to do anything other than grind.. with the entire occupancy of the bar. Cooper assumed that Chanelle had come to the bar with Honor if Honor was wondering where she had gone off to. Now Cooper was a little concerned. He didn’t like the idea of his little sister being somewhere in the bar with a bunch of drunk people that neither of them knew. “Did she come in here with you?” he asked, allowing his eyes to wander about the seemingly overcrowded bar. That wasn’t helpful. There were plenty of young blonde ladies around – not all of them were natural blondes though, that much was obvious.

After several minutes of pretending to fix her makeup in the mirror Chanelle realized that standing in the bathroom until who knows when was not going to be fun for her at all. She exited the bathroom and looked around for either Honor and her brother or just some hot guy that didn’t seem to be there with a date. First she saw Cooper and decided that she wasn’t ready to say hi to him. Chan backed away and sat down at a table by herself. There were definitely some creeps in the bar, but some hotties too. The cute boys probably already had dates though. Chanelle had been sitting for about a minute when a boy came over and set a drink in front of her. He was kind of cute, but also had a creep vibe. “For you.” No way. Chanelle was done with taking drinks from guys in bars. “No thanks,” she said politely, gently pushing the drink away. The boy seemed to think that was rude but Chanelle wasn’t willing to take drinks from strangers. Chanelle wondered why he hadn’t walked away yet.. maybe he just wasn’t used to rejection.

She rolled her eyes at him and gave a fake laugh. She took the beer from him and tilted the bottle back for a swig. "Yeah." She replied. "She's probably still here, she doesn't like us." Soon after that, she drifted away from Cooper to find Chanelle, she had to still be in the bar, she wasn't stupid enough to wander around Times Square during it's busiest time of the year. She could get molested or trampled or robbed. She walked through the bar, a look of determination on her face, and that look made people move out of her way and give her some room. She looked at every person she passed by to see if it was Chanelle. After many minutes of searching she found the blonde girl sitting down at a table with some guy standing at it. It was a relief to find her there. She made her way over and stood next to the guy. "Chanelle, do you want him here?" She asked, looking him up and down and giving him a dirty look. Honor knew how to get guys, but she also knew how to run them off too.

Okay. So Chanelle was somewhere in the bar.. that was a little reasurring. At least Cooper knew that she wasn’t off somewhere wandering the streets. “She’ll be fine. I’m sure she’s just confused about everything,” Cooper said in his sister’s defense. He could understand why Chanelle was upset but he really just wanted her to be comfortable talking to him again. Cooper also wanted Chanelle to stop getting so pissy about every little thing that went wrong in her life; she just let such small things get to her. Coop followed Honor as they went in search of the young blonde who seemed to have gone missing in the crowd. It was almost surprising how many people were cramped into the bar, Cooper was sure that it had to be breaking some kind of fire safety code..but who cared on New Years? Finally they spotted Chanelle sitting at a table – though the boy hovering over her made Cooper uneasy. He smirked seeing the terrifying glare Honor sent in his direction. Damn girl. She was fierce.

Chanelle absolutely didn’t want Mr. Creep with a drink anywhere near here. Not even a little bit. For the first time in a week or so, she was actually relieved to see Honor. She didn’t feel like responding verbally, so instead she just shook her head at Honor’s question. Chan envied the way Honor seemed to know how to get exactly what she wanted. Chanelle sighed as her brother took a seat next to her. “Hey Coop,” she offered with a closed-mouth smile. “Sorry I ditched you, Honor. Thanks for getting rid of that creep,” she stated, reaching across the table to push away the drink that the boy had left. “I don’t know what it is.. but feel free to have it if you want,” she offered. Now Chanelle felt completely awkward. She didn’t know what to say to Honor or Cooper for that matter. She wasn’t on particularly good terms with either one but she didn’t want to be such a downer on New Years.

"No problem." She responded, taking a seat on the other side of Chanelle, girl couldn't escape even if she wanted to now. Honor unbuttoned her coat and slipped it off along with her scarf, all of the people in the bar made it rather hot in there. "Woah, no, you only take drinks from people if you saw it come straight from the bar or if it's from a waiter." She felt like she was teaching Falon and Chesa the rules of bar etiquette. "It might have roofies in it or something." At that moment she grabbed the drink and smelled it, she shook her head, made a weird face and pushed it to the end of the table. She tried not to be awkward with Chanelle, in fact she was trying to make things better, make up for having told her older brother her secret. She didn't know what to say to the girl though, so she sat and bit her lip, taking drinks of her beer. "So do you still hate us? She asked eagerl, with a toothy smile on her face, looking from Cooper to Chanelle. "You can hate me all you want, but having a miserable New Year's Eve would be unfortunate. So you should push your hatred aside and have fun with us tonight." She said nodding towards the girl. "I'll even be your New Years kiss if you want me to." She said, nudging her, obviously joking and Chanelle would know it. She was just trying to break the ice.

Cooper kept quiet as Honor lectured his sister on what not to do in a bar. He was sure that he had already had this talk with the young blonde several times before, but he would never object to have her hear it over and over again until she actually believed him or someone else about how dangerous it can be to take drinks from strangers in bars. “She doesn’t hate us,” Cooper responded, nudging Chanelle a bit to see if he could get her to smile. Whoa. If Honor was going to be a Madison’s New Years kiss Coop was fairly convinced she would be his – not that he was against girls liking girls or anything, but he didn’t want to watch or even think about his baby sister kissing a Zadian at midnight. Whatever. Cooper knew that Honor was probably just trying to lighten the mood so he might as well play along. “Aww. I guess I’ll have to find someone else to kiss then,” he teased, going out of his way to appear as though he were scanning the crowd for another potential midnight kiss. “So, how was the trip to New York?” he asked looking at Honor in an attempt to change the subject. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the little Madison wasn’t in the best of moods.

Chanelle shot her brother a look when he answered Honor’s question for her. She wasn’t a baby, so she really was more than capable of speaking for herself. Cooper was right though.. Chan didn’t hate him or Honor, she wasn’t happy that they felt they could talk about her personal life, but if she actually hated anyone at that moment it was herself. She didn’t mean to be so bratty, but she really just didn’t think it was anyone’s business if she had sex while she was drunk, or if she had sex at all. Chanelle didn’t think it would be a big deal if anyone else lost their virginity, so why gossip about her? “I don’t hate you guys,” she echoed softly, staring at her hands on the table in front of her. Now sandwiched between Honor and Cooper, Chanelle knew that there would be no escaping them for the evening unless they got up to dance – she could always encourage that. Chanelle couldn’t help but giggle as Honor suggested that she would be her midnight kiss. “Nah. I wouldn’t want Cooper to throw a fit. I can always kiss the creep who bought me that drink,” she shrugged, knowing that she would never actually kiss that guys. Whatever. Who said she needed to kiss someone at midnight anyway?

She didn't want to treat Chanelle like a baby, but it just happened. The youngest Madison seemed so fragile to her, she was kind of Chesa a few years back. None of the Zadians were fragile, or innocent, they were all some really strong, independent women, but it was refreshing to know someone as innocent as Chanelle, she was just so use to stubborn women. She looked over at Coop and rolled her eyes, as if she was never expecting to kiss him at midnight, she was hoping to. "I'll punch that kid in the face." She said with a chuckle, referring to whoever the guy was that bought her that drink. Creep. "Fine." She responded to Coop. "Chanelle got the listen to my beautiful singing voice the whole way up." She said with a grin. Honor didn't have a beautiful anything that wasn't physical. She couldn't dance and she couldn't sing, she had very little talent, that's why she was in the fashion industry. She looked down at her watch. "Whaaaat, we have fifteen minutes now." She looked to her left to see some guys butt in her face. "Ahhh!" She exclaimed, leaning closer to Chanelle. She stood up. "Am I freakin' invisible?" She asked in an irritated tone as someone bumped her into the table.

Cooper agreed with Honor, that boy deserved a punch in the face if nowhere else. He smirked as Honor freaked out about the proximity of her face to another man’s rear. Before he knew it, Honor had leaned into Chanelle who in turn leaned into him; it took him by surprise and had he not been blessed with decent balance skills he probably would have fallen on to the less-than-sanitary bar floor. “You’d never be invisible to me,” he charmed with a wink, following Honor’s lead and standing from the table. He cringed as Honor was bumped into the table; the bar really was uncomfortable overcrowded. “Maybe we should have chosen a quieter place to meet?” he thought aloud with a raised eyebrow. He didn’t doubt that Chanelle and Honor were probably having somewhat similar thoughts. Though he considered taking the girls somewhere else, as Honor pointed out there were only fifteen minutes left to midnight and that would hardly even be enough time for the trio to navigate their way out of the bar. It looked like they were pretty much stuck right where they were. “What would you girls like to do for your last twelve minutes of 2010?” he asked with a smile.

Ew. “Gag me,” Chanelle mumbled as her brother openly flirted with Honor. She didn’t understand at all why she actually needed to be sitting there. Spending New Years asleep in a hotel snuggled up in a warm bed would have been incredibly lame, but in Chanelle’s opinion it would have been preferable to her current situation. Chanelle just glared at her brother as he decided they should have chosen somewhere more laid back to meet. Well no duh. She would have been perfectly happy to stay in Rhode Island all by herself. Well.. maybe not happy, but she wouldn’t be squished in a bar. To be honest Chanelle didn’t really care what she did with her last twelve minutes or whatever so she just shrugged in response to her brother’s question. She sort of didn’t want to be standing between him and Honor at midnight though. “I think I’m going to go get myself a drink,” she commented, standing from the table and heading for the bar. Chan had no intentions of having alcohol, she would just get seltzer.. she just needed an excuse to be by herself.

She couldn't help but smile as Cooper flirted with her, but she heard Chanelle in the background hating what was going on. What was so wrong with romance? Oh right, she hated guys right now. She looked at Coop and nodded in agreement. Although no place in Times Square would have been quiter, but maybe one with less alcohol would have been better. She watched as Chanelle walked off, and it was kind of irritating. "We just found her." She said kind of frustrated. "Are we going to wait for her or what?" Obviously Chanelle didn't want to be around them if she kept running off. It's was like she wanted to get lost. She looked over at Chanelle for a few seconds and then back at Cooper. Finishing off her bottle of beer and leaving it on the table. She moved around the table to Cooper. "If we wait we're going to miss the New Years ball drop." She said with a pout. That's what she'd came here for.

It was rather annoying that Chanelle kept running off. Cooper could understand that he and Honor weren’t her favorite people at the moment, but they were the only people she had to hang out with this New Years. He ran a hand through his hair, slightly frustrated as Honor whined about missing the ball drop if they had to wait for Chanelle. Cooper kept his eye on his younger sister and decided that she would probably be alright on her own but he didn’t want to just leave her in the bar. “Let’s head out; I’ll get her,” he sighed, already walking towards Chanelle. He walked up just as the bartender placed a drink in Chan’s hands so he made eye contact with her and placed an arm on the small of her back, ushering her out of the bar. Once the three of them were outside he realized that the streets were no less crowded than the inside of the bar. “Hold my arm and don’t let go,” he instructed the girls. He wanted to find them a spot where they could have a better view of the ball dropping. Once he felt one solid hold on each arm he started pushing his way through the crowd.

Chanelle hadn’t been holding her drink for even five seconds when her brother came over and essentially escorted her out of the bar. Really, Coop? Chanelle hadn’t thought her brother was seriously that unaware of the fact that she wanted to be alone. Personally, Chan thought she had been explicitly sharing her feelings about that. Apparently not. Oh well. It looked like Chanelle had no other choice but to grab on to her brother’s arm and follow him through the crowd; she was fairly positive that if she let go of him she would definitely get lost. Lost in the middle of New York City on New Years was not something Chanelle wanted to deal with. Ugh. Moving through the crowd was probably more painful than her movie stunt of getting hit by a car. Chanelle couldn’t remember a time she had ever been stepped on or bumped into more. After a particularly narrow heel pressed down on her foot Chan squealed and pulled back on her brother’s arm. “Can we stay put now? I can see fine,” she pleaded, not wanting to give anyone else a reason to step on her.

Bleck. They really should have met way earlier and stood outside in the freezing cold for an hour or so just so they could have a decent view of the balling dropping into New York City. She did everything Coop told her to, and she hated it. She was being shoved and getting stepped on, although she was stepping on people to, considering she was wearing stiletto boots. "Stop here." She told Coop, not walking anymore and pulling her arm out of his grip. They really could see fine from where they were, the ball was way up high after all, and it had lights around it, all it was going to do was go down, and they didn't need to be close to it. It was way more crowded out here than it was in the bar. She felt an elbow in her back, so she turned around to give the person a piece of her mind, until she realized she didn't know who had done it, there were way too many people. "We're all having fun right?" She asked sarcastically. "Just means afterwards we have to party at the hotel." She jumped suddenly as she felt somebody goose her. "What the-- someone just grabbed my ass!" She could have started a bitch brawl right there, but again, she didn't know who did it. She would have been better off at the E magazine party in LA. "Five minutes!" She announced excitedly, grabbing a hold of Coopers arm.
