[/blockquote][/blockquote]Next month was when Juliette would start a new project. She had been out of the acting ring for a few months now. She had managed to pull herself back in with a role in a movie, and for the first time it was not an independent film. She was proud of herself for landing the role. But in Hollywood Land, acting skills are not what always get you the part. That was why she had always been a part of Indie films. The director was usually the writer, and writers are always critical about which person plays what character. They could run auditions for months before finding somebody they feel confident casting. Juliette loved that about independent film makers/writers. She found a passion in acting through high school theatre. Her drama teacher cast the good actors first, and left the small parts to everybody else. Originally Jules wanted to become a Broadway star and do musical theatre for the rest of her life. She wanted auditioning to be her temporary job, and when it started becoming permanent, she realized she needed to branch out and try something else.
The role was for a romantic comedy. Which would do decent at the box office. Her role was considered minor, as she was the best friend of the main character, played by well known A-list actress Blake Bailey. When Jules thought of the movie, and the characters two movies came to mind. The plot was a lot like ‘The Proposal’, but the characters were more like ‘Failure to Launch’. Blake Bailey was Sarah Jessica Parker, and Jules was Zooey Deschanel. Which Jules did not mind, because Zooey Deschanel was always interesting to watch. It was nerve raking though. With this movie came a lot of firsts. First high dollar set, first red carpet! They were even filming in New York City. Jules lived in New York City. Everything was so convenient. As Jules wondered how her life would be a month or so from now, she walked her dog. Coco was her small Yorkshire Terrier she adopted from one of the many animal shelters in New York. She had been use to living with her family, and needed a companion to come home to after a long day of auditioning.
It about ten o’clock in the morning, that was when Jules found it best to walk her dog. Any time before ten and anytime after noon was chaos. New Yorkers were usually on their commute to work between seven and eight, and at nine o’clock was when everybody else started heading to breakfast. At noon was when workers got off on their lunch break, and when every other broke New Yorker or house wife decided they wanted to wake up and roam the streets or shop. After three short years, Jules knew her New York City well. Central Park was her destination. She walked her dog, getting some exercise in. Jules had never really been one for exercise. Coco made a few friends with the other dogs while she sipped on her coffee. Not Starbucks, for the record. Most of people Jules knew were people that she had worked on movies with. She had made a few friends, at parties and such, but most of her friends were in Canada. Sometimes she wished somebody would just show up at the park and just converse with her. Somebody that wasn’t totally creepy.
