The San Diego International Comic Book Convention is kind of a big fucking deal - to the nerds and geeks anyway. A public event held every year in the San Diego Convention Center, Comic-Con is an event that unites all fanboys and fangirls; and their idols, from comic book writers to television and movie stars - Comic-Con will have it all. Oh, and don't forget the flamboyant costumes from your favourite fandom walking around (it's also the place to Cosplay and not feel a sense of shame).
First thing's first. Where in the world is San Diego? Well my friends, San Diego is California's second-largest city located in San Diego County which borders the United States and Mehico, and sits on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. It's about 2 (give or take depending on driving conditions) hours drive from Los Angeles on the 405 freeway, south. Then again I don't live in California so I could be wrong! If you suddenly have the rush to, why not drive your way into the Mexico and visit the party city of Tijuana!----------------------------------------------
So basic information about Comic-Con 2011, the event spans over four days starting from the 21st to the 24th (with a "preview night" on the 20th for special guests and select attendees). It's held in the massive San Diego Convention Center located right beside the Mariott Hotel (some Comic-Con events are held here too) on the San Diego marina.
As an attendee you'll be able to walk around the main exhibition hall where there's a ton of displays from movies, television shows, internet fandoms, toys, video games, and of course - comic books. Apart from that, there's heaps of seminars, how-to classes, and special screenings of your favourite shows and movies.
If you happen to have trouble finding your way around the main exhibit hall, you can read more about it and find a map here
You know what, I'm getting lazy, find yo' map here.----------------------------------------------
PANELS
You're probably all wanting to know what panels are at Comic-Con. I know it's probably like the third day already, and if your character happened to be somewhere else at the time we can just say that there was a glitch in the time space continuum.
Panels are basically Q&As. Comic-Con attendees are welcome to come to Hall H and ask questions about their favourite TV show or movie. Usually in attendance to represent the thing they're plugging is the producer, director and of course, the actors.
(I'm only listing shows/movie that our characters are a part of. If your character isn't/wasn't at Comic-Con, that's fine! Just post here and I can remove it from the list. Likewise, if I forget you somewhere, just post here and I'll add you!)
