loves.
+ Italian cuisine (esp. Risotto).
+ Coffee and coffee-flavoured chocolates/cake.
+ Fashion, obviously. Likes at the moment: male-inspired women's wear, high-waist skirts and a classic LBD.
+ Getting her nails done. It's Anna's little treat to herself.
+ Picnics and reading books out in public.

+ Processed food / fast food.
+ Dieting and working out.
+ People being attached to their phones/laptops.
+ Men versus women rows.
+ Tacky clothes. Tacky people in general.
quirks.
+ Mentally redresses or edits people's outfits in her head, like if the clothing they are wearing don't sit on their shape correctly (which she hates), she'll take it in for them... in her mind.
+ Anything bought from a high street/chain store that is mass produced, she will take off all the buttons and then sew them back on. The quality is terrible and she always finds the buttons are the first thing to go.

+ Learn to speak German and Dutch. She can already speak Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek and English fluently.
+ Win an Academy Award for Best Costume Design.
secrets.
+ Lost her first baby at 4.5 months. If it was a girl, she'd have been called Theresa and if it was a boy, he'd have been called Mateus.
+ Used to be so in love with her cousin, Pietro. She still finds him to be incredibly handsome.
personality evaluated. Anna-Maria is a passionate person: about family, fashion and pretty much life in general. She could never survive a mundane lifestyle, she's far too curious, adventurous and full of vitality for that. Anna wants to cram a lot of experiences into this short lifetime. She wants to see the sights and taste the cuisine, she wants to witness history in the making and admire the ever-evolving state of the society. As much as she loves life, she tends to get mad at humanity for the awful things that have gone on and are still going on today. Apart from the important issues, she tends to avoid reading newspapers or watching the news because it depresses her. And the state of mankind scares her more and more each day. Each time a new story of a horrible murder, of abuse or neglect, of genocide and oppression. As someone who has a nurturing and caring, compassionate personality, it is hard for Anna-Maria to understand how people can be so cruel.
She can understand anger quite easily though. She is a hot-blooded Italian, who becomes quite easily irritated and aggravated when provoked and pushed. And yes, like many women, she is quite a “hell hath no fury” kind of woman. She hates to be treated like a second class citizen because she is a woman and is definitely an independent lady. Having grown up around three brothers and plenty of male cousins, she has had to fight for her place in the “food chain” as it were. She loves that the fashion industry is pretty versatile when it comes to gender. She loves her job, it fulfils her every need. It excites her, drives her, annoys her when things don't go the way she wants. It's never a dull moment. She is dedicated to her career and hardworking. She'll work extra hours just to focus on finishing something of good quality. Anna-Maria is proud of the things she has produced and would never associate her name with something that was less than 100% perfect. When it comes to work, she is definitely a perfectionist but that's exactly the kind of trait that's needed. You have to be observant and pay close attention to even the seemingly most unimportant details.
When it comes to life outside of her career, she's not too fussed about perfection. While she understands both sides of the “size zero vs. average women” argument, she has never been one to worry about her weight for any reason, be it to be appealing or for fashion. She makes things work around her and the way she was built to be. Maybe it was just the way she was raised (and her love for good food) but Anna has always been confident about the way she looks. Now that she's aging, things are starting to fall out of line but it doesn't bother her. In fact she's never felt more sexy. Growing old doesn't scare her, in fact she looks forward to it. She's blessed to be a woman who ages gracefully. She puts it down to that crazy diet of hers. Fresh vegetables and fruit, typical pasta-filled dishes and plenty of olive oil! She could never be a slave to appearance. If people don't like her hips and thighs then they don't like her hips and thighs. Anna has a thick skin, and negative comments go in one ear and out the other.
She doesn't have the time or energy to waste on other people's negativity, she does her best to escape this fucking planet's whole load of negativity. Perhaps it's selfish of her but she just focuses on being content and comfortable in her life. That doesn't mean she isn't generous or compassionate about other people's issues. She just finds that people are so quick to think about the bad and turn everything into gloom and doom. They seem to prefer staying under their big black cloud of problems rather than taking a chance on happiness and letting shit go. She ain't one to dwell on bad memories or things she can't change. It's pointless. It's all about the here and now.

history evaluated. There isn't really a lot to say about Anna-Maria's early life. She grew up in a warm and loving environment, as one of two girls out of five children born to Salvatore and Beatriz Di Vittorio. Her father's family were Italian with Cypriot origins and owned an orchard in the Arezzo province of Tuscany growing olives and cherries. Salvatore's uncle Giuseppe had his own place about an hour away from his brother's (Salvatore's father), a vineyard and a fruit orchard, it was much bigger and more commercially successful whereas the Di Vittorio's olives catered more to the local people and was sold in towns within Tuscany. Anna was the second child born to her parents and the first daughter. For a while it seemed like she'd be the only daughter until Mariella was born.
They lived in the family's 4 bedroom farmhouse and were dedicated to helping the family business. The Di Vittorio's, like most Italian families, were very close knit and still are, despite the air miles between them. Each of the children were given responsibilities as a young age, and each were taught the speak the different languages of the family (Salvatore had extended family in Cyprus and Beatriz's mother was Portuguese, her father was an Italian-born Frenchman) as well as keeping up with school work, they were also devoted Roman Catholics.
Anna enjoyed being creative, she learned to play the piano at a young age and in her teenage years became more and more interested and talented in art. She also loved fashion, growing up in the late 60s and 70s when fashion was pretty experimental and funky. When she was thirteen years old, she was “spotted” by an modelling scout and at fourteen, signed up to a modelling agency on the agreement that her fashion work never got in the way of school. So on weekends and during holidays she would often travel to castings or jobs. This really pushed her closer and closer to her involvement with fashion. She was taught to sew by her mother, and would often customize her clothing. Pretty soon she was drawing up designs just for fun, looking to movies, modern fashion and the history books for inspiration. By the time she was leaving school, she had already decided that she wanted to study art, design history and costume design in further education, which she did.
She then moved to England, where she began working in small theatre and film productions and this lead to meeting several film directors who would later hire her for her first major film. She moved to Paris a few years later upon the request of a European director, who wanted her to work for him on a major project and this was the start of her costume design career in film. Anna-Maria continued to work in European film until she collaborated with another costume designer (and good friend) on an American-British period drama film, which lead to them being nominated for an Academy Award in 2004. She has been based in New York ever since, travelling wherever the next job takes her. In her personal life, she has a son named Henri, born to a French-born Italian man who she was in a relationship during university but broke up with when their son was an infant. He is an aspiring photographer who lives in Paris and is the assistant to a major fashion photographer.
