PYROMANIAC – Yeah you read correctly. Roman is a pyromaniac. It all started when he was about six years old. He loves fire. He loves looking at fire, he loves playing with fire and he loves starting fires. It’s a form of relief for him. Whenever he’s stressed out or just needs to blow off some steam, he’ll just pull out the lighter that he carries around with him at all times and light it up. Granted, the only serious thing that’s come from his pyromania was that house he burned down when he was 12. The counseling seemed to calm his habit down. Roman doesn’t get many urges to burn anything more complex than paper, blankets, etc anymore. Though sometimes, the temptation occurs when he passes a fire station or something of the like. Just the idea of setting a fire station on fire makes Roman smile. Oh the irony. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be afraid of Romie here. He’s not into setting humans ablaze, no matter how many times he threatens to. Roman won’t burn you.

LOUD – You’ll always know when Roman’s in the room. There’s no difference between his inside voice and his outside voice whatsoever. He’s a loud yapper and likes to make his presence known, though it’s not very intentional. Roman is just naturally a loud person. He hates repeating himself, so the only way to prevent that is to speak loudly and clearly. It’s as if he’s constantly talking to old, deaf people. Whispering is something that he just physically can’t do. So if you’ve got a secret to tell him or something that you want to keep quiet, I suggest you tell Roman in a very very secluded area. He’s bound to blurt out something to give your secret away. It’s not intentional though, let me just repeat that. He doesn’t go blabbing people’s secrets to everyone.

INDEPENDENT – It’s only natural for Roman to have some sort of independency. He’s been alone practically his whole life. Roman doesn’t socialize too deeply with people, mostly because he was so used to leaving them behind in the end. The only person he’s absolutely inseparable with is Dimitri. Most of the other people he knows are just minor friends he could live with or without. The beginning of his childhood, Roman was alone most of the time. He did everything on his own, and to this day he still functions this way. During the day he likes his alone time to think, write, set things on fire, whatever. Being surrounded by people isn’t something he enjoys all the time. In fact, most of the time when he’s surrounded by a crowd of people it’s when he goes out and parties.

IMAGINATIVE – Roman’s a screenwriter. A big imagination might as well be in his job description. His imagination goes on for miles and sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s going on in that head of his. He definitely has the demeanor of a writer, whether Roman’s conscious of it or not, the gears of his brain are constantly turning. This is the part of screenwriting that Roman really enjoys, coming up with a creative idea and building upon it. Most of his ideas are taken right from his life and personal experiences. It just takes that big imagination of his to expand his experiences and turn them into interesting movie ideas. This applies to other aspects of his life as well. Roman is a weird dude and likes to come up with his own little jokes and sayings. He’ll have you wondering where the hell he gets all of it. That brain of his is just an interesting place.

CRAZY/SILLY – One look at Roman and you can automatically tell that he’s a character. The crazy hair, the tattoos, they’re all signs of a potentially crazy person. Crazy in a good way of course. Roman loves to have a good time, like most people, but Roman here will sometimes go to extremes in order to have fun. Any little thing that pops in his head, he’ll want to try. For instance, tying a jump rope to the back of an electric scooter and having it pull you while on a skateboard down the middle of the street. Did I mention the ramp that was involved? Roman got a nice bruise after that one. His crazy stunts are accompanied with his silly behavior. He’s always making some sort of weird face or motion just to get a few laughs. Laughter does expand your life span after all.

FLIRTATIOUS – Naturally a flirt, Roman is quick to compliment a pretty woman. Granted, just because he flirts with someone doesn’t mean he’s got ulterior motives. Usually when guys flirt it’s so that they can get into a girl’s pants, but that’s not the case with Roman. Although he will joke around about bedding a pretty girl while flirting with her, he flirts because it’s fun, it’s sort like a hobby for Roman. Of course, there are those times when he’s had a little too much to drink and his flirtations could lead to a little something else. Although sleeping around isn’t his intention and isn’t something he does, if he happens to wake up in someone else’s bed then there’s nothing he can do about it. Shit happens. He doesn’t go looking for sex though. He just goes out to have a good time and a good time can involve sex or it can’t, it doesn’t matter to Roman.

VULGAR – The boy curses like a sailor and isn’t afraid of a few dirty jokes here and there. There’s no doubt that his mouth is dirty, but in the most elegant way thanks to his accent. When he gets really pissed he can curse up a storm and even when he’s content he can still curse constantly. It’s just a habit he’s picked up from being around so many people when he was a kid, a significant amount of them were older. He’s been hearing that kind of language for years. As for his dirty and slightly deranged mind, not really sure where it came from. Roman is the first to call someone out for saying something with a double meaning, especially if it’s sexual. Plus, he just tends to take things too far sometimes. It offends people at times, but hey, Roman can’t help it. That’s just how he is.

The circumstance of which little Roman was born isn’t a pleasant one. Sure, it’s always beautiful to give life to another human being but his mother wasn’t anywhere near happy about having a baby. Her reasoning for that was pretty legitimate, unlike something stupid regarding not being ready to have a child because of some condom slip up or just simply not wanting one. Julia Ann Prescott was raped at the age of 17. The result of this rape? Soon to be Roman Carter Young. Having a baby at such a young age was already difficult, but you can imagine the turmoil Julia faced after the rape. She couldn’t bear to have a kid who was a spitting image of the man that she absolutely hated with the whole of her heart. She had heart enough not to terminate the pregnancy but instead put Roman into foster care.

Roman was put into one of the local foster homes around Bromely, London, his birthplace. It was a usual routine for Roman, being bounced around from home to home, that at first was hard for him to deal with. He didn’t like getting to know someone and then having to up and leave them in a month or so, sometimes even a week or a couple of days. But Roman got used to it by the time he was six years old. He was mature for his age, something you can’t necessarily say about him now, and learned that it was better to just keep to himself that way he wouldn’t have to deal with any sad goodbyes. It was during this time that the first signs of his pyromania began to show. On numerous occasions Roman was caught playing with the gas fireplace, turning it on and burning random things in it. Sometimes he would take pieces of paper, light them on fire, and run around with it. This became a huge issue, and the main reason his change in foster homes became more frequent. People just didn’t know what to do with little Romie, so the handed him off to a different foster home.

It was when Roman was 12 years old that his pyromania got serious. Roman was living in a foster home with four other children. One night he had stolen a lighter from one of the foster parents. It started with small things, pieces of paper mostly. But his mind began to wander into the possibilities of what would happen if he lit other things ablaze. This led to the whole home going up in flames. Luckily, no one was hurt and everyone evacuated the house before things got too bad. But the firemen were too late to save the home. Roman’s actions could not be ignored this time. He had to go into intense counseling that lasted a whole 3 years. Three horrible years of counseling every day and Roman was cured! Well, not really. Just temporarily discouraged to light shit on fire. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, because who would want to adopt a crazy pyromaniac? Especially a 12 year old pyromaniac. It was rare for a kid that age to be adopted, but eventually the Young family whisked Roman away for good.

Wasn’t long until Roman was exploring his odd interest in fire again. Lucky for him, his adoptive parents weren’t so judgmental and attempted at substituting Roman’s obsession with something else. While in school, Roman took a few extra English classes and composition classes. Elise had this crazy dream for Roman to become some sort of writer, most likely because she herself had wanted to be one but got into physical therapy instead. The more Roman worked on his writing, the more he actually began to enjoy it. It became a hobby of his, and soon would be his career. But at 16, Roman was randomly scouted to model. He later found out that a friend of his had sent in a few pictures of Roman to an agency, thinking that Roman would make a good model, which he did. For a while, Roman’s focus was turned from writing and to modeling. It was hard to convince Elise to let him pursue modeling, but eventually Roman was flown to Paris to do his first shoot. It was there that he met his current best friend, Dimitri and began his modeling career. Roman fell in love with it.

Unfortunately though, Roman couldn’t give up writing altogether. So in order to please his adoptive mother, he learned to balance writing and modeling evenly. He looked into all types of potential careers as a writer and found that screenwriter would fit him best. So he began to get into writing screenplays for various movies, some pretty well known, others for independent films. So Roman moved to NYC with his best friend Dimitri, modeling and writing to bring in the dough.
