secrets.
- The reason she is so against riding on a bus is because she had gotten into a bus crash when she was seventeen. She and her family were on some bus tour extravaganza type deal and her older sister wound up in a coma and died a few days later. Most of the other passengers, including herself and her parents received minor injuries. All Ainsley has of physical proof is the scar on her collar bone. The emotional scars run much deeper.
- She got into drugs around eighteen, shortly after her sister's death, and was eventually admitted into a rehab facility at the age of twenty-three. She's been clean ever since, but she doesn't let anyone know that she had a problem in the first place, much like she doesn't mention her dead sister.
personality evaluated.
Ainsley is a pro at hiding how she really feels about things and at lying. Her parents always told her she would be a fantastic actress because of how good she was at hiding things. She likes to say that's what made her really want to become an actress in the first place and if it weren't for her sister's death and the drug abuse shortly thereafter she might have started out earlier. She isn't terribly resilient and relies on something to prop her back up, but never someone. She hates relying on others because she knows that they could just disappear. More often than not, when things are rough, she turns to alcohol. She rarely gets drunk, but she drinks just enough to get her brain fuzzy so she cannot entirely remember why she was upset.
When she's mad, she'll show it, but mostly she at least pretends to be happy. Never will you see Ainsley look sad or anything of the like unless you catch her off-guard. If she knows you've seen it, she'll play it off and say she's preparing for a role she's auditioning for. Most people buy it and those that don't aren't usually ones to push it. She loves to laugh and sarcasm is her choice of humor. Sometimes her sense of humor is also a bit juvenile as she likes to play pranks.
She loves to travel anywhere and everywhere and hates to stay in the same spot for too long. To fulfill that need, she either finds a new apartment or goes on an impromptu trip to a place she randomly picks on a map. Even though she's thirty now, she's no more responsible than a twenty-year-old and loves to have her fun twice as much as she used to when she was that age. She tells herself it's because she missed out on some of her twenties thanks to being drugged up for almost half of it, so she has to make up for it now.
When it comes to relationships, Ainsley doesn't have too many close friends and has had even less romantic entanglements. As said before, she thinks of people as temporary. However, she does keep a few choice people around, especially if she knows they know where the good times are. With the men, she has a strict policy: one hook-up per guy, no matter how good they were. She tried the boyfriend thing a couple of times, but she just couldn't stand the commitment and the getting close part. She doesn't want anyone to see the bad parts of her: the drug addict and the mourning little sister. Deep down, Ainsley feels completely insecure and doesn't want anyone to see it, so sometimes she puts off this over confident attitude. All she is, is scared.

history evaluated.
- Ainsley was born in Boston, Massachusetts on a very rainy April Fools Day. Her parents always refer to her as their little Fool, even now at thirty years old. She used to hate it, but doesn't mind it anymore.
- Both of her parents had cut off ties with their own parents and Ainsley never knew what happened between them. She never really cared though. Her parents and her sister were enough and they became a very close family.
- Her sister Hallie was supposed to be the actress of the family. Or the model. Or the author. Basically, she was supposed to be someone famous, the one that made the family proud. When she died, Ainsley initially didn't want to fill her shoes at all until she hit rock bottom and realized she needed to do something to make her family proud. She remembered her parents telling her how she'd make a good actress and started going to auditions about a year after she had been clean.
- She moved to LA at nineteen and that's when her extreme drug abuse had started.
- Initially, her parents had wanted Ainsley to become an excellent musician. They quickly realized that she could not play a single instrument to save her life and gave up on it, letting her make her own choices in what she wanted to do. Naturally, Hallie was amazing at piano and guitar and playing the cello even. Not even for a minute was Ainsley truly jealous of her though.
- The night Ainsley hit rock bottom was the night that she nearly beat a girl who called her a "crack whore" to a pulp. She was sentenced to go to a rehab facility and riddled with guilt, she stuck to the program one hundred percent. When she does something, she does it wholeheartedly.
- Her parents nearly divorced after the accident and once again when Ainsley went completely out of control. Blame of whose fault it was that all of this was happening was thrown around, but she knew it was all on her. Ainsley would never have forgiven herself if they broke up in part because of her.
- Ainsley fell in love once, when she first came to LA, with a guy named Colin Everest. It was the last relationship she ever had and he had wound up leaving in the middle of the night with a note on her dresser that just said, "Couldn't do it. I'm sorry." While she never admits it, that was probably the real start of her hook-ups only policy.
- Silence equals bad for Ainsley because after the accident, her house was always silent. It was like no one dared speak in fear of accidentally saying Hallie's name or something associated with her. In part, Ainsley thinks it had something to do with her. The first month afterward, she didn't say a word and was in an almost catatonic state. One day, though, she just snapped out of it and was speaking twice as much as she used to, just trying to make sure there was never a silence again.
- Ainsley had nightmares badly after the accident and she turned to drugs to cope with that, as well as the accident itself and her fighting parents and her crumbling future. She didn't have a single nightmare until after she quit. She is nearly an insomniac now because she cannot sleep for more than a few hours without a nightmare popping up.

roleplay sample.Matt had forgotten he was supposed to meet Toni at their old high school until his mother mentioned it. He was in the middle of a bowl of Cap-N-Crunch and had proceeded to spill it everywhere when he realized he forgot. Of course, he had an excellent excuse for forgetting---even when his amnesia went away, if it went away, he would use that excuse on a lot of things. "Oh, I'm sorry I forgot to walk the dog today. Remember that accident I told you about? Yeah, totally damaged my memory."
He apologized quickly to his mother, promising he would clean his mess up later. She looked a bit annoyed, but he also knew that she wouldn't yell at him. She knew this meeting with Toni was important and not just because it was an attempt to jog his memory. It wasn't even because Toni was his closest friend. It was really because, as much as Matt did not like admitting, he sort of liked her. As more than a friend. A lot more, in fact. The past few weeks were hell on him, but she stuck by him and he figured he must have meant a lot to her if she was that dedicated. How could he help himself? He was sick, a victim, he would think to himself whenever he thought of Toni and the butterflies appeared. She was beautiful and he was vulnerable. Those were his excuses for liking her, but deep down he knew it was just because---with or without amnesia---Toni was, without a doubt in his mind, an amazing girl. As far as he could remember (in other words, not much) he hadn't felt like that before he got into the accident. Maybe his amnesia was an eye opener for him. After all, when you pretty much grow up with someone, it can be hard to really notice them.
As he walked to the school---he refused to get into cars anymore since it triggered panic attacks---the instructions given to him by Toni in his hand, Matt took it as an opportunity to dig through his memory. When he was alone and walking around, he found it easier to dig up memories. Of course, Toni's presence always helped him as well. Today, though, he was trying really hard to figure out about his dad, and for some reason that wasn't something he felt Toni was good at helping bring memories up of. He supposed it had something to do with it being really personal, but he had heard so much personal stuff about Toni that it didn't really make much sense for him not to share his not-so happy stories in return. He wondered if he held things back before the accident, if he didn't tell Toni the whole truth and now no one would know but the ghost of the old him.
The school came into view and saw Toni walking on the stone ledge. He shoved his hands into his hoodie---a light blue Hurley one his mother insisted was his favorite; it was very comfortable, so he could see it---and he laughed quietly under his breath. As he got a little closer, he could hear her singing "I Kissed a Girl" and it took all the self-control Matt possessed to not burst into guffaws at the entire scene. He grinned as he watched her, waiting for her to feel his eyes on her back, and wondered if she was too much into her own world to realize that he was there. Shaking his head and rolling his eyes, the smile still in tact, he cleared his throat loudly. Then, for good measure, he said, “I kissed a girl once too. I quite enjoyed it myself.” He was rather proud of what he said because it felt like the old him that he had heard in the stories told by his mother and friends, especially Toni. Maybe even just being near the school was enough to bring his memory back. Or, maybe just being near Toni acting more like herself and less like she had to play the hero, which is what Matt sometimes felt she was doing, whether that was her intention or not.
