he wants to star in at least two movies.
secrets. as much as oliver preaches about the horrors of smoking, he sneaks a cigarette every now and again.
oliver got drunk in college and ended up in bed with a guy - he's still a little homophobic to this day.
personality evaluated.
oliver is the kind of guy that balances his arrogance with his friendliness. he loves people. he loves talking to them, socializing with them and being around them, so he can easily make a person feel welcome, but he also tends to be narrow-minded and aloof. oliver feels as though he is on a different wavelength than everybody else. he is in the mind set that everyone is the same, except for him. he's the only unique one. this attitude sometimes turns people off of him, as he tends not to take what they say seriously; other people's issues are petty in the grand scheme of things. but oliver is a nice guy that gets along with everyone; unless they are rude. oliver can't stand rude or ignorant people. this sort of behavior makes him angry and he won't back down from starting some sort of confrontation with them. oliver is usually the initiator of issues; if he has a problem with something you're doing, he'll tell you flat out. he doesn't spare feelings, for the most part. this trait is both a blessing and a curse when it comes to being interviewed. he won't be scared of an awkward question, but if it's too pressing, he might end up being rude himself. oliver contradicts his morals quite frequently.
when you first meet him, oliver will be genuinely nice and friendly towards you, but if you bore him or he dubs you as shallow, he won't spare you another look. oliver is a one chance man. he doesn't believe in change. he thinks that people are who they are, and nothing will fully change them. if oliver can't see the essence of a person within hours of meeting them, he'll drop them like a hot potato. this can get tricky when he's out on dates. it annoys people when oliver is hot one minute and then cold the next. 'hot n cold' is practically his anthem (but he'd never admit that in fear of sounding gay).
oliver is a flirt by principle, but he doesn't like sleeping with women he hardly knows. he likes to have a foundation of trust and friendship. oliver is a one woman, one man kind of person. he is a hopeless romantic, but that doesn't mean he doesn't like making girls feel special (it's a great comfort to his ego if a girl is all over him). oliver has a tendency to not call girls back after dates; if they didn't click, he's not interested. oliver believe in 'the spark'. he believes that when he meets the right girl, he'll know. the other girls are just there so he won't get lonely. oliver is also a homophobe; he doesn't like to admit it, but he tends to shy away from gay people. if there was ever a role where oliver would have to act gay, the pay would have to be pretty high for him to even consider it. oliver is pretty accepting, but after a wild night in college, he's feels awkward around gay people.
overall, oliver is the kind of guy who could go to a bar and make friends within a half an hour. he loves to be the center of attention, and he gets his money's worth out of it. he's charming and sweet and he knows how to party. although he can be a little too judgmental and brutally honest at times (there's no filter between his brain and his mouth) he can be a good friend. just don't be rude or ignorant when he's around; he'll never forget it and he won't give you a second chance.

other family. ollie has a uncle that lives in canada and an aunt that lives in ireland, but other than that, noting noteworthy.
history evaluated. oliver was born in atlanta georgia in 1983. he was the first kid in the family. the sterlings travelled a lot; oliver's dad, stewart, was a journalist for CNN and was required to go to lots of different countries for reports. naturally, he took his family with him. oliver grew up seeing many different cultures and languages. he saw places of poverty and places of splendor. this may be a reason as to why he's a stickler about pollution; he's seen it as it's worst in places like india. oliver would never forget the smells and the sights he saw in the places that weren't as nice as france, the uk, or the us, even. these visits to other lands usually only lasted a few weeks, but oliver felt like he had been traveling his whole life.
when emma came along, oliver was six. this was around the time the sterlings stopped traveling as stewart got a job at a local atlanta newspaper instead of cnn. elizabeth wanted a family, so stewart gave up his lifestyle. oliver and emma fought like cats and dogs growing up, but when oliver left for college, emma was distraught. they grew immensely close after he left the house and she was 12. little geena was only seven when oliver left, so they never had the bond that emma and oliver had, but oliver still is protective over his youngest sister. he calls her frequently to ask about her boyfriends and who he needs to beat up.
oliver went to nyu to go to tisch school of the arts. he got a prestigious education in acting there, although they couldn't teach him to sing. oliver is awful at singing. but oliver scored a couple of roles in plays around the new york area that were usually shakespeare. oliver found a passion for writing while at tisch, and wanted to become a screenwriter instead of an actor. however, one of his screen writes got very bad reviews in the new york area, and oliver gave up the passion. he still writes occasionally, but he knows he's an actor at heart.
oliver moved to la after college, and scored a few minor roles in films, but he really wants to be a tv star. he thinks movies are overrated and would rather be in a tv show with a huge fan base, like doctor who has or star trek (although he's not a huge fan of science fiction). oliver still goes home to atlanta for christmas and thanksgiving to be with his family, but he is completely in love with california.

roleplay sample. There wasn't much Marcus loved in this world. Most of the things he had grown to love had been taken away from him years and years ago, so he wasn't accustomed to feeling intensely for anything in particular.
But if there was anything that Marcus truly did love, it was books.
No matter how old Marcus was, he had reached the decision that he would never be able to read all of the books that the world had to offer. Thousands of books were published each year and he wanted to read all of them - books were eternal. He had read everything from the bible to computer manuals to Jane Austen (although he didn't particularly care for Elizabeth Bennet). Marcus didn't think that mortals knew much about anything, but he had to agree that some of them could seriously write, and for that, he praised them. Reading books let Marcus escape the dark quarters of the Volturi for awhile and let him enter into a world where nothing mattered. Marcus was eternally grateful for the Volturi's extensive library. It was one place where he could certainly find peace and quiet while doing one of the few things he enjoyed.
Marcus surveyed the shelves of the library, musing to himself quietly as his eyes swiftly perused the titles. The Days of Rome didn't sound too interesting. He had lived the days of Rome. Marcus moved to the next level. Roman this, Roman that...this shelf seemed to be a plethora of Roman titles. Marcus sighed, displeased. He didn't feel like going to another set of shelves to be disappointed once more. Glancing at the book titles, Marcus withdrew a book at random and pocketed in his jet black robe, striding towards a table. Under normal circumstances, Marcus would just return to his room and read the book quickly and quietly, but he felt it necessary to escape from his room every now and again.
Marcus opened the book. It appeared to be a fiction book depicting the events of Pompeii. Marcus closed his eyes, remembering what it was like to watch Pompeii burn to the ground. He knew what had actually happened. He knew what it had really been like to watch a volcano take all of those mortal's lives. It had felt...wonderful. The corners of his lips twitching a little, Marcus began reading the book, deciding he might as well have a little amusement pointing out the inaccuracies.
So Marcus sat, alone in the dark, reading this sorry little book as he got lost within the pages, his attention rapidly becoming enraptured in between the lines of the book.
