personality evaluated. Ryan's outward appearance and personality clash. While he may seem loud and obnoxious from his style, Ryan can barely talk to someone without turning completely red in the face. His shyness makes it nearly impossible to talk to him -- if he is indeed brave enough to talk to someone, it would most likely be stammered out to the point where what he was trying to say would be either inaudible or choked out. It might make him look like a fool, but Ryan's intelligence is actually much farther than what his speech implies. His mind works so fast that he can't even really get words out quickly enough.
He despises anything that resembles conflict, which makes him a pushover. He would much rather walk away from an argument than actually confront someone. He was always fresh meat for bullies to pick on in high school, and based on how he would always shoulder the blame for his younger sister when he still lived at home, he finds himself being a scapegoat for the people he loves.
If you happen to be lucky enough to break through Ryan's shell and bring him out more, he can be a very fun person to be around. If he's around friends that he trusts, he will slowly come out of himself and joke around. However, this is an extremely rare thing to see if you haven't worked extremely hard at being gentle with him. He will only sink back into himself if you even jokingly make fun of him because his self esteem is so extremely low.
Despite his shyness, Ryan is a selfless individual. He always puts others before himself, hoping that one day someone will give a shit about him in return for all of the worry he does for others. However, he worries about other people so much that he usually forgets to take care of himself, which leads to cause many different vague illnesses; he's commonly seen with a tissue in his pocket. He refuses to let others take care of him, even if they insist, because it makes him feel completely self centered and absorbed. He fears people getting close to him only because he thinks he isn't worth their time, but if they insist that he's something special, then he'll try his best to keep himself open.

history evaluated. Admittedly, Ryan's past is a bit of a sob story for the first five years of his life, but it also is proof that anyone can rise up through the cracks and become something bigger. He was born a bastard child, only having just recently found out who his father was -- he lived with his mother for the first five years of his life. Maryanne was paranoid schizophrenic, and to make matters worse, she rarely took her medications. She took out her anger and insanity on Ryan, her only outlet being through mean words and, on rare occasions, a slap or two. She only became overly violent one time, and that was the very last time Ryan would ever have to endure her home torture. He was five years old when he earned his scars -- it was all over breaking a plate, but clearly his mother was far worse than she usually was. Without a second thought, she took a lighter and set his back on fire, pushing him outside and leaving him there without a sense of remorse at all. This has now caused Ryan to have a horrid fear of fire, and he faints whenever he sees it around.
His story can only go up after that; the police found him and took him to the hospital, where he made a semi-swift recovery. His mother was put in a psychiatric ward, although he's not sure if she's still there or not. He was later adopted by Richard and Emily, and although they were extremely overprotective, they are the ones that Ryan can truly call his parents. They cared for him through the rest of his life at home, and they fostered his talent for electrical ingenuity. He began to work the lights and sound at his high school's local theater, dubbing himself to be a "tecchie." Living in the showbiz central that was New York City, he began to become interested in the behind-the-scenes work on different things like movies and TV shows. Although timid about his abilities, he decided that, with his parents' help, he'd pursue his dreams of working on a major film project.
Middle school isn't a dream for anyone, and Ryan was included in that nightmare -- the raging pool of hormones first growing and the bitchiness of others lashing out made his experience in seventh grade hell. He was constantly pushed around then, once people began to realize that they could walk all over Ryan, and that fact continued all the way through high school. His stutter and meek demeanor made him a perfect target for others to tread on and walk all over. The people he considered to be his friends would ask him for favors, borrow money from him and never return it, and made fun of him when it was convenient. He was subject to as much torment as any other seventh grader with raging tween hormones, but his was even worse -- slowly, he was discovering his sexuality.
It wasn't obvious to him at first -- he'd look at girls and guys in the exact same way; as potential objects of war to which he'd never fight back. However, he began to see guys in a bit of a different light as eighth grade rolled around. Their muscles attracted him, the sturdiness of their bodies made him feel safe and secure... and he found them cute. A few even... "hot." Ryan has never been a man of a sexual nature, but even he couldn't deny the sexual pull he felt towards males that he could never describe for females. He kept it to himself, and he always denied it in junior high whenever someone would ask, but when high school came, he was finally out. He tried not to flaunt it, however, as he was still teasing fodder in high school. To this day, he's never had his first boyfriend or even his first kiss, as he's trying to save all of that for someone who truly cares for him.
Finally, the tormenting ended at Ryan's high school graduation. He went to a local college for film and film production, coming out with a bachelor's and a spotless GPA. He landed himself a job at the age of twenty three on an indie film area, but soon he was able to work his way up to one of the most exciting shows he's ever been around -- and that was when he met Keith, the actor that he's slowly been falling for... yet has never even been able to talk to.

roleplay sample.Once again, Ryan had far too many Pokemon than he knew what to do with. Many of them with him were weak, having just hatched a mere few days ago. But, it was better to start now than later, right? Kohaku had draped herself around Ryan's shoulders, staring idly at the other Pokemon that were following him -- Ryan hated to keep them all cooped up in their capsules when it was fairly nice out. The Dratini seemed to like the small amounts of snow lying around on the ground, but obviously not as much as his Snorunt, Glae. He was as happy as could be, running through the piles and kicking some of it around, rolling around in it occasionally. Pachi extended his long nose to brush against the white fluff, sniffing it before sticking some of the snow in his mouth out of curiosity.
Feuilles, Fii, and Float stuck close together right behind Ryan, wondering what their next adventure would entail. The entire group had an air of excitement -- they would get stronger here at the mountain base, they were sure... maybe Ryan would make new friends in the process, or perhaps they would encounter many dangers that would help them become even braver. Ryan looked back at the other three, smiling happily at them. Kohaku gave a soft wave of her tail, staring bleakly at the rest of them, while the Chikorita glared daggers at her. She was far too territorial of Ryan, it was becoming a bit of an issue... but, he supposed that she'd grow out of it eventually, right? He just had to start distancing himself a little... pff, as if that could happen for him.
They all stopped at the mountain base, Ryan sitting down on a rock and looking at the rest of his team. They all huddled close to him, and he opened his arms to fit in as many of them as he possibly could to help keep them warm. "B-battling w-will get y-your blood g-going a l-little, th-that'll help k-keep you all w-warm," he murmured, getting a few chirps of agreement. He smiled happily -- he loved his family and every single Pokemon he had.
