matured frederick has come to terms with the fact that, while he's not old, he's not as young as he was either. he understands that he can't engage in some of the things he used to in the past, and is constantly searching for people who understand this plight. as such, he finds himself attracted to older individuals. also, he's intent on finding a woman about his age with similar goals; this is not to say he's above the occasional night spent with a younger woman. he's simply passed having the emotional capacity of a fifteen year old, as most men in their twenties are not.

guarded fred's had a hard past, and he's intent on not letting it affect him. unfortunately, he doesn't seem to realize that the all of the events in his life are responsible for the way that he acts. regardless, any information about his actual past has to be literally pried away from him, and such a feat is not easy. he's fearful that letting pieces of himself become public would lead people to look at him differently, and potentially even use such knowledge to manipulate him.

protective an attribute associated with his need to protect himself. he is not quick to make friends, or rather, close friends. however, in the event that he does make one, he makes it his business to make sure such a friend is not treated in a way he doesn't agree with. while he means well, he does sometimes get pushy in defending such people. once he feels someone he cares about is threatened, he is quick to escalate matters past words and into brawling.

history evaluated. Frederick Mark Collins was born into a dysfunctional family, to say the least. His mother met his father while she was drifting up north following a fallout with her parents, and after their first night together, she never left. They never married, money was low, and they ended up having kids who they could barely support. To support his family, his father got involved in gambling, and as his debts began to pile up, so did the hardships his family began to face.

Given the absence of his parents during his childhood (they had to work long hours to make any decent sort of money), Frederick took over the duties of the house. Such responsibilities meant that his own duties outside of the house came second. His grades suffered as he ran behind his brother to do his homework and as he cooked and cleaned. He worked up a disciplinary record in school defending his little brother in playground brawls.

Matters only got worse however; Fred's parents were murdered when he was ten, a byproduct of his father's incessant gambling. Alex and Fred were then sent to live in a series of foster homes. The emotional stress placed on a boy already living a life as if he were more than twice his age was immense, and he often times wouldn't even be able to sleep at night. Things lightened up when he reached high school and found a love for sports. He played basketball, and joined a boxing club, both of which serves as conduits to release his pent up emotions. Better grades followed as he found peace in his life.

Frederick had no desire to go to college, and so he didn't bother trying. Instead, he began to work as a busboy at local restaurants. He'd continue in this way, without any certain aim in life, until he was twenty-four. At which point, his brother was graduating college and about to go to medical school. Acknowledging the wasted time in his own life, he packed his bags and headed out to LA where he scored some small time roles in small time shows. Success, however, is not an everyday thing. Fred found himself putting in long hours on sets that weren't going to be making him much money, and to make ends meet started working multiple job.

Life's pretty much been going the same way for him since then. Seven years later and it's still kicking his ass.
