YOUR GUIDE TO THE GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS 2011
Here is where you'll find the information needed to understand what really goes down before, during and after the official ceremony! Hopefully with these pictures you'll get an understanding of what things look like from the inside. Prepare yourself, the thread is image heavy. You can also click on the images to view a much bigger version.
the red carpet

You're at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills California. It's between 5 and 7pm and you've just come out of your limo, SUV or whatever mode of transport and immediately you step onto the bright red carpet that is actually a long way to walk come to think of it. You're actually walking on the hotel's huge U-shaped drive way. Before you enter through the official glitz and glamour, you're usually checked at the security check point in case you bring something highly illegal! It's then that you're met with the start of the camera line full of paparazzi in black tie which continues past the large golden gate adorned with the words "HOLLYWOOD FOREIGN PRESS ASSOCIATION THE GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS".
You stop to pose in front of the cameras. You might be lucky to pose with some of your peers if they happen to be there with you! But just before you walk underneath the sign, you see the official E! network's interview stand and your publicist insists you talk to Ryan Seacrest about the awards, how excited you are to be there and most importantly, what you're wearing. When you're finished you step down from the tent and if you're lucky enough, you'll see another star waiting in line to be interviewed! It might be Mark Whalberg, Mila Kunis, or Sophia Vergara, who knows.

Your publicist continues to lead you through the carpet and then things start to get even busier. It's loud. Agents, managers, publicists, personal assistants and other VIPs crowd the red carpet. Suddenly you hear a big cheer - the spectators have just spotted you. You look up at the stands above you to see these spectators calling out your name, asking for autographs and taking photos of you. On the other side your publicist has organised several people from smaller media outlets to interview you which is taped on camera and will be posted on the internet in the next few hours. You smile at the camera, answer the interviewer's questions and continue to pose for the photographers that are pointing at you as you slowly make your way through the carpet. If you happen to come across another star, walk up to them and say hi! Just like Kevin Spacey and Peter Facinelli outside the Entertainment Tonight tent.

Speaking of Entertainment Tonight, you spot Mary Hart and the ET crew interviewing Angelina Jolie before a producer asks your publicist to come be interviewed yourself. The same old question is asked and soon you're back on the carpet heading for the Beverly Hilton entrance. There are a few more media outlet tents (TV GUIDE, EXTRA and more) that you may or may not go to and finally you make it inside the building, blood rapidly running through your body with excitement.
