addie is very intense in everything that she does. she throws herself into everything one hundred and ten per cent. it doesn't always end well for her, but it's one of the qualities that makes her such a good song writer. she gives everything her all, no matter what it is. it was this fact that helped her graduate a year early, what kept her sane during the long period of her parent's divorce. she just involves every part of herself in everything that she does. she'll pour herself into her friendships and go through great lengths to keep them alive. she pours her heart and soul into relationships and tries to make sure that her relationship will last and be the best that it possible can be. addie isn't one to half-ass anything that she does, regardless of how seemingly unimportant it is.

she is very cynical when it comes to love. she grew up in an unhappy household and never really saw a functional relationship. her parents always fought about everything from money, to schedules, to parenting decisions, to what to buy at the store. because of these constant disputes, she doesn't think that love is a happy thing and that it's unrealistic to hope for a happy relationship. this has been reinforced by other events that occurred in her life. she looks down her nose at those who believe in love. even though she doesn't believe in it, she does like the company of a cute boy occasionally. she doesn't see the harm because she never takes her relationships seriously. they are always about companionship; based on like or lust, or a combination of both. basing a relationship off the ideals of anything more is completely idiotic in her opinion. when she does have relationships, she always ends them before things become too serious for the other person. she doesn't want to cause the same pain to another as her parents cause each other.

addie is observant and pays particular attention to those around her. she likes to watch people and learn what people do. it's very interesting for her to watch people interact with each other. she's used to southern hospitality and moving to a city where people are so cold and hurtful to each other is amusing for her. her observant attitude assists her in being a better friend to other people. she is a self-sacrificing person who always puts other people before herself. her observant attitude helps her assess what she has to do to make a friend happier. she is usually the type of person who knows what to get someone for their birthday or for christmas and she knows when something is wrong with a person, even if they don't say anything. it's the little things that she notices and that helps her help other people out. people think that they can walk over her because of her attitude towards the people that she cares about, but she isn't a pushover. she doesn't let people walk over her. she's not rude about it, but she is assertive.

• addie was born to jonathon and maddison soon after they got married and the young couple were having issues. addie's early memories are plagued with her parents screaming at each other over the littlest of disputes.
• it became apparent at an early age that addie had a talent for musical pursuits. she was singing before she was talking and loved the sound of music. by three, her parents knew that she was going to break into the music career eventually.
• at five, she started piano lessons. her mother thought it was a good idea. her father didn't. eventually, her mother won out and addie started. she excelled and continued them until she was twelve.
• at eight, her parents got into one of their worst fights ever. addie's mother left for a week and she didn't hear from her. maddison returned like nothing had happened, but the fighting between her and jonathon continued.
• at ten, addie expressed interest to learn the guitar. her father bought her a guitar and the lessons began. it was another instrument in which she excelled at.
• at thirteen, her parents divorced after a lengthy period of unhappiness. addie moved to los angeles with her mother and returned to texas to visit with her father every time she was off school.
• at fifteen, she began dabbling in song writing. she found that she was able to write decent songs, but it wasn't until after the debacle with her first boyfriend that she really started writing songs that meant something.
• at sixteen, she started dating her first boyfriend. she only agreed because she was sick of being called a prude. she found that she enjoyed his company and the two became great friends. they hung out and did things that every couple did. to addie, it didn't mean a lot. even losing her virginity meant nothing. she only did it because she wanted people off her back. she broke up with him seven months after they started dating because he told her that he loved her. love meant bad news to her and she ended it.
• at seventeen, she graduated high school early and began trying to break into the music industry. she started sending demos out, but never heard anything back. she got a few small gigs, but it didn't turn into anything. after a while, she began looking for anything that would earn her some cash that had to do with music.
• after two years of working odd jobs, she finally found a job writing songs for movies and television shows. it wasn't her favourite thing to do, but it brought in the money and she was able to do what she liked best: write songs.
