loves. her ex - fiancé , her dog , her grandma's cooking , fruit , coffee , spaghetti , when she has time for herself, acting , animations ( especially disney ) , writing.
hates. weak coffee , not catching up with her parents , hurtful gossip , cheaters , the smell of swimming pools , receiving pity , awkward silences , making mistakes ( especially on camera ) , divas , losing her blackberry.
quirks. she can only sleep if her alarm clock is set to a number ending in 0 or 5 - 7:00 is okay, 7:01 is not. after eating, when she feels full, her nose will itch, without fail. she can't concentrate if her book shelf isn't in alphabetical order; the rest of her apartment could be a pig sty, but as long as her books were neat, she wouldn't notice.
aspirations. break into the acting world. find a mr right to settle down with instead of a mr wrong. stay close to her parents.
secrets. the reason her engagement broke up was because he cheated on her, despite what the pair tell the press. so far, the other woman has not come forward, though ellis is terrified of this happening. she sometimes hated being an only child and has vowed to have at least two children.
personality evaluated. ellis is your typical girl next door. she isn't outrageous, and is fairly quiet. she isn't shy, not by a long shot, she just doesn't say everything that comes to her mind, only the things she considers relevant. people often view her as shy because she doesn't talk as much as others, but it's just a misconception. she has her opinions and she knows when and when not to voice them. she'll speak her mind if you ask her to, and she doesn't often lie, but she knows when it's better to hold her tongue. she is loyal and dedicated, and would do almost anything for the people she loves. she is determined and hard working - not just with her acting, but with everything. if she decides she's going to clean her apartment, she won't stop until it's spotless. she puts her heart and soul into everything she does, and it shows. in all her nine years as a secretary, not once has anyone ever complained about her. if she's going to do something, she's going to do it properly.
despite her quietness, she doesn't take anything lying down. she walked out on her fiancé after finding he cheated, she went against her parents wishes and didn't go to college. she won't argue, she won't throw a hissy fit, she'll just do things the way she wants to do them. it takes some convincing to get the stubborn side of her to see your point, but she will be the first to admit and apologise when she's wrong. she is intelligent, despite not going to college, and if she hadn't felt so strongly about acting, she probably would have become either a novelist or a screen writer. she doesn't have 'trust issues', but she is sensible with who she does and doesn't trust, and how much she trusts someone with. she is generally quite polite, but she can be direct and blunt if she needs to be, and has a sense of humour - usually sarcastic comments - and can easily laugh at herself.

history evaluated. ellis loren hunt was born to samuel and penelope hunt, aged twenty five and twenty two respectively, in san francisco, california. the pair tried for more children, but penelope had three miscarriages, which ellis wasn't told about at the time due to how early in the pregnancy they each were, and so both parents accepted that having one child was lucky and decided that they didn't need any more, ellis was enough. and they couldn't have asked for a better child. she excelled in school, maintaining an almost constant 4.0 grade average in all her classes. despite her intelligence, it was clear that she her heart lay in performing right from the word go. she was incredibly active in the drama club and involved in as many productions as she could handle, as well as keeping her grades up. her father, as a professor at san francisco state univerisity, tried to persuade his daughter to attend college and study a solid subject, and keep drama as a hobby. ellis refused - she knew no better feeling than the adrenaline of being up on a stage in front of a crowd of people. there was a disagreement between parent and daughter, but in the end, both parents agreed that ellis could act and her determination would pay off.
age nineteen, a hopeful ellis applied for a job as a secretary to a director, and got the job. she moved to los angeles and has worked for the same director for nine years, becoming a family member of the crew. the director spotted that the girl had talent, but simply gave her a few cameos here and a few spoken lines there. ellis waited patiently, auditioning for every project she found interesting, sure her time would come - and she didn't mind being a secretary, as there was never a dull moment. she had a few call backs, but nothing came through. however, while on set, she made friends with an up and coming actor, and remained friends long after filming finished. they started dating, and got engaged a year later. ellis was beyond happy - she loved him and thought he loved her. the tabloids were asking who was this girl with the sparkling rock on her finger and the hottest guy in hollywood on her arm, and suddenly, casting directors were thinking seriously about her various auditions. she was a little disappointed that it took her engagement to a star for people to take her seriously, but she wasn't in a position to say no. and so, age twenty six, she had her first real film role.
however, her engagement didn't last long. the tabloids hoped that the whole unheard of, girl next door vibe ellis had would lead to a solid marriage without problems ( although what tabloid seriously hopes for that? ) but it wasn't to be. ellis was indeed the girl next door kind of girl, and to this day she can't work out where she went wrong. she knows in her heart that it isn't her fault that her husband to be cheated on her with, according to the tabloids, a blonde 'bombshell', but doubt sometimes creeps in. when she found out, ellis threw the ring in his face and moved out of his los angeles home, into an apartment. sympathy was with ellis, and the tabloids speculated who exactly had been the other woman, but rumour has it the woman was paid to keep her mouth shut. ellis doesn't know who she is, and has no desire to know.
two years later and ellis is still living on her own ( aside from the dog she bought almost as soon as she moved into the apartment ) and hasn't really had her big break yet. she's had several supporting roles but is still mostly associated with her cheating almost husband rather than any film work, and is hiding the fact that even after two years she's still in love with him. she's hoping her big break comes soon before she loses all hope and returns, defeated, to her parents.

roleplay sample.daisy remembered her first day at stanfield, four years ago. it felt like a lifetime ago, daisy barely remembered life before stanfield unless she really thought hard about it. she remembered her parents and her siblings, and she knew all their names and knew she loved them ... but she had to concentrate hard to remember the afternoons they'd spent on the beach, or the time the twins climbed into a laundry basket and fell asleep, and it took the whole family two hours to find them, and how relieved they had been when it turned out they'd been in their mom's bedroom the whole time, instead of lost somewhere in san francisco like everyone had thought. and the king family was still in san francisco - admittedly with the older members moved out, but still close by - making new memories without daisy. sure, they told her funny stories when they visited ( daisy was always on best behaviour around visit times, she missed her family pretty badly ) but it wasn't the same, not being there. and no amount of therapy was going to fix that.
daisy frowned - her brain really couldn't think of anything black. "i've got other things on my mind ..." cigarettes weren't black. maybe nicotine was? daisy had no idea, she didn't really know what colour all the things inside a cigarette were. she just knew they tasted damn good all mixed together and that she wanted one really badly right now. daisy grinned at lily. "well i hope she is, you've got a rep to protect, haven't you mean girl? maybe you should give me a black eye, just in case people are around when we get out?" she started to laugh again; lily was a good distraction. one, from stanfield in general, two from the craving that was eating daisy up from the inside out. being in solitary with someone else helped. the staff were right to put people in solitary - it really hurt your spirit, sitting on your own with only four padded walls for company. the flaw in the idea was that the rooms were often full and so you had to share, which took away a lot of the harshness about it. daisy got on with almost anyone, so she liked making new friends in solitary - though she'd shared with a violent before, and she'd been genuinely scared for her life.
once the cigarettes were all in one line, and daisy was satisfied they were all facing the same way ( there wasn't actually a way to tell, but daisy had made one up in her mind and that was good enough for her ) her mind felt a little calmer. not a lot, but a little. it was a start. she started to put them in rows of four, three in a row. if this was what calmed her down, then this was what calmed her down. she never knew if it distracted her mind or actually calmed her down, but either way it worked. all she knew was that as soon as she got out of here, she was running back to her room and smoking all of her cigarettes at once. "yeah, i know ... i don't even have that stupid gum with me, or a patch, or anything. the therapists give me them when i actually go ... they don't work, but they're better than nothing. she frowned at the cigarettes, then turned to lily. "you should lay off the beatings for a while ... your knuckles look pretty messed up."
