Lindsay wasn't the kind of girl who usually sat freely in a public place like this. What happened to the fancy restaurants and the waiters and champagne? Not a single centerpiece in sight, it was almost disgusting. This is what they resorted to? A coffee shop? Ugh. As quickly as she was disgusted, she whipped out a moist towelette and wiped down the seat. Loads of pairs of eyes turned when she sanitized the seat before taking a seat, picking up her cup of her coffee. this is unbelievable. as low as she thought her marriage got, she didn't think it would resort to date at a coffee shop. it took a while for her to actually get enough guts in her to raise her gaze and look him square in the face. the emotion on her face wasn't clear, she wasn't sure what she was trying to impress anyway. it was hard to talk to him these days, all conversations started with her and ended instantly with his uh-huh's or okay's.
she looked back down, giving up at whatever look she was trying to make. maybe something like, "it's time for you to say something" or "so where do we stand." she couldn't seem to say it herself, though. there wasn't much to say anymore, anyway. sure, she was thinking of going back to work and start acting again. Yes, her older sister who hadn't been married already finally was engaged and yes, her mother was on a hospital bed at this point sick. Ace probably knew none of it and she wasn't even sure where to start. hell, she never even told him she was thinking about wanting a kid, why would she want to tell him anything else? funny how she's been holding that in for five years now. they'd been married much longer than that and at this point, she was just bored. it never did make sense to her. years ago, she used to be so happy. she realized that she deserved everything she got, the family and good friends. this? she didn't deserve this at all. was this what she got for crying when she didn't get a Wii back when she was a kid? Or is that for kicking her father in the nuts when he told her the marriage was arranged? god was seriously punishing her for something and she didn't know what.
it didn't make sense otherwise; she was beautiful, smart, funny, sexy, what more could this man want from her? money? because she was stickin' rich if he hadn't noticed. at this point, she was willing to do anything just to get his attention. she found herself smiling for a moment at another customer that was sitting nearby checking her out until realizing what she was doing was wrong and looked away. sometimes it was nice to get attention her body deserved and most of those times, it didn't even matter who it was from. it sure as well wasn't gonna be from ace. lindsay looked back down at her little donut. she had a small appetite today. lindsay was usually the kind of woman to love eating. those small entrés at the restaurants never did her justice. but this morning, she wasn't in the mood to stuff herself. usually did that at home when she was depressed and alone all day. eating and shopping is always the first thing that comes to mind at that point.
she'd rather eat and shop her sorrows away rather than mope about it, especially in front of him. she did notice she got a little bit attention when he looked at the bills. it wasn't a good reaction, but it was attention from him nonetheless. it was sometimes hard not to cry. for now, she even lost her appetite. at least she was with him and he hadn't snapped at her yet. turning her head to look at the time on her phone, she noticed it'd been a full five minutes and no fights. she couldn't help but smile at that, looking up when he moved. the moment at this point was so awkward that even a cough from one or the another was eventful. all he did was shift in his chair and she had to look up, not sure why she was so hopeful that he'd say anything to her.
