They were standing on top of a building roof that was meant to represent a real life building in Washington D.C. With a rifle in hand, Natalie ( or Jodie, as she was called ) looked down to see the streets that were twenty stories down. She had to admit though that it was rather intimidating when a gush of breeze blew past her face, and she had a feeling that she would fall off if she took a step closer. Looking over, Jack Bailey's head was just barely seen from the edge. Of course, he wasn't simply hanging off the building, but instead was on a stand and held onto by a harness incase he was dumb enough to slip off said stand.

She heard an "Alright!" from nearby - they were ready to film. Natalie made her way to Jack before going on all fours as if she was about to pull him up. She grabbed his hand and waited for the call. Action. Their hands gripped tighter as if he really was hanging from the building, and she looked down as if she was using all her strength to pull a boulder up. "If anyone shoots at us right now we're both screwed." She said before using her other hand to grab onto his arm and pulling him up and back onto the roof. Wow, that was close. Pushing herself away from the edge, Jodie ( Natalie ) groaned in exhaustion, then getting up to sit on the floor as she watched Teddy ( Jack ) recover from his almost untimely death. Bringing an arm up to her face, she wiped dirt off her cheek - despite the fact that their faces were already dirty - and continued to stare at him, mainly because she was shocked that the guy she liked would have died. "I told you not to go near the edge." She wasn't going to let him live this down in front of the rest the of squad for years to come.

He didn’t know why that grump of a stuntman just didn’t take over all of this like he took over his stunt opportunities. They didn’t let Jack do the stunts because he just didn’t have that kind of training. So much debate and meetings went on just on Jack’s behalf as they talked about putting him out of the movie because of his personal issues with his wife and whatnot. After it all, Jack still was continuing to do the film. That grump apparently wasn’t the face of Teddy, Jack was. He wasn’t exactly scared, heights didn’t exactly frighten him, but incase he fell, they gave him a harness. Adjusting himself, Jack reached his hand over and held hers with slight disgust until he heard action. After then, Teddy struggled and began to pull himself over the edge as if he was he really going to die. He wasn’t real. He wouldn’t die. Jack, on the other hand, was another story.

He smirked at the comment, still catching up with his breath. During a close-up on his dirty and sweaty face, Jack removed the hook on his harness and looked up at Natalie (Jodie) in the eyes with the same glued smirk on his face. ”You know me.” He said, straightening up a little as he brushed off his arms and clothes, posture straight like it usually is for Teddy. ”Being daring for the thrill of it. I was here because of it, wasn’t I?” Teddy reminded Jodie. Jack was really out of the picture or else he would be gagging or sliding away from her. Or…something. It was that professional and perfection side of her that made him gag. At least that’s how Jack saw her. The kind of person who was just too boringly mature and super organized with everything she did.

It’s like she was sexist against guys that were nothing short of “Jack Bailey’s”” This was probably he didn’t really like that grump of a stuntman. Why could he just take the role of Teddy like a man, cut his hair, build some muscle and take over his role so that Jack could go back to his beautiful wife? He didn’t know. His life really sucked. Well, it did at this point. To think he was hating on her from the inside the same time he was looking right into her eyes with a warm smile on his face, about ready to kiss her. This is what he liked to call good acting. ”So what if I’d really fallen off?” Teddy asked, his face full of curiosity as he was getting ready to hear the answer he wanted to hear, knowing it was on its way.

”Being daring for the thrill of it. I was here because of it, wasn’t I?” Natalie was meant to roll her eyes, and she did, because that was what she was meant to do right? "You usually get a kick out of near death experiences?" Jodie replied with a mixed look of bemusement and amusement in her soft but dirt-covered features. The real Natalie wouldn't have minded if he had really fallen off that building. Jack was, after all, the last person she wanted to save. Ever. Well him and her ex-fiance but that was another story. If Matt had allowed her to do what she wanted, she would have simply let his hand go and walk away, leaving Jack to climb up himself.

The day actually started out in resentment for Nat. She hadn't been anticipating this day at all, mainly because she was spending half of the day with Jack. And although Matt constantly teased her in the days leading up to this, she could tell he was also feeling uneasy about having to direct his best friend as she kissed Hollywood's most notorious womanizer. Despite her resentment towards Mr. Bailey, she was surprisingly good so far. That was mainly because she kept their conversations very short, and remained professional-like towards him. Actually, Natalie was rather mellow and serious than her usual self today, but that was so it'd even out the immaturity brought on by the presence of Jack. But today she noticed that Jack wasn't focussed and that he probably had something big on his mind. Then again, he probably usually came across as that and that she was just underestimating him.

Jodie looked to her side, supposed to be hiding her blushing face. She put a face on that showed that she was thinking about whether or not to say what she really wanted to say. Turning her head back to face Teddy she amusedly smiled, "I'd probably miss you." She softly replied. Natalie mentally cringed, but was able to keep her face from showing it. Unlike Natalie, Jodie was incredibly straightforward and she soldiered on, "I also wouldn't be able to kiss you like I want to right now." She smirked before getting on her feet and brushing off the dirt from her army pants. Yeah, Natalie mentally cringed even more, and luckily the camera wasn't focussed enough on her to see the small twitch on the corner of the mouth.

Watching her role her eyes, Jack wondered if it was from the heart or if she rolled her eyes because she was suppose to. Either she really didn’t want to be here right now or she was really good at acting. Teddy smirked, looking to her eyes, soon grinning at her. Turning around, he looked down the edge of the building, ”Whoa…apparently so.” He soon realized it wasn’t exactly funny. Even Jack got a little frightened.

What if Natalie let go? Or Jodie’s hand accidentally slipped or something? He knew there were padded mattresses stacked up at the bottom of the building, but it was still pretty scary, not that he was afraid of heights. Maybe a little…he just had other fears to worry about it. Like if he had to fall into water or something. Or a bundle of snaked. Hell no.

Before he kissed in a scene, he had to smirk, recognizing all the girls that probably wish to be the girl that was in front of jack at that moment. The days that he was asked to not smirk, it was really hard. Too amusing. It was that point when he forgot about whatever he was worrying about a second ago to just watch her profile like he was suppose to. When she stood, so did Jack looking at her. Teddy took Jodie’s hand. Jack hated him for it. ”Good thing you saved me, then, right?” he asked.

Even though the camera didn’t catch it, he was in perfect angle to catch that twitch from the corner of her mouth. He lost character and just burst out laughing. In the background, he heard a faint “CUT!” as he continued to laugh, eventually calming down and looking up at her with the biggest grin. ”I’m sorry! She’s shy!” He let go of her hand, amusement in the sound of his voice. ”What’s the matter, doll?” He questioned Natalie, hand at the side of his face before he gently slapped it. ”Get a grip, this is a dream come true, kissing Jack Bailey.”

it was hard to resist the temptation of grabbing that rifle and stabbing jack with it. she knew it was empty of ammunition so the best way to hurt him was by simply poking him... vey hard. maybe if it really had a bullet or two, well... natalie wouldn't have minded going to jail for attempted murder. actually, natalie didn't hate him that much but then again, he wasn't exactly someone she particularly liked. but if he did however get injured that badly, they probably wouldn't stop filming the movie but most likely hire another actor to play the part of teddy. perhaps they'd even use his stuntman whose grumpiness somewhat irritated her. though it wasn't as if she really bothered to talk to people like that. she wouldn't have even bothered with jack if only they didn't have to work together so much like they did.

natalie had no idea what she was up for when she signed up for this. all she knew was that bryce had given her a chance to start all over again in hollywood when all other producers had practically shunned her from their movies. matty too, was on the project being slated to direct and of course nat couldn't help but pass up an opportunity to work with her best friend. but sadly not everyone could be happy and despite how exciting it all sounded at first, it was when she found out that bailey had signed onto the film too and that their characters were going to be romantic interests that things weren't as all exciting as they should have been. oh well, she had realized afterwards that it was a huge production and that she had matt to keep her sane. there were also other cast and crew members she got along with wonderfully so it wasn't as if only she and jack on the set together all the time.

instead of just standing there like a woman in love, natalie wished the writers had allowed jodie to say something like "take another step and i'll shoot you." quite contrare to a said 'woman in love' but that's what nat wanted to do. she wasn't even sure jodie was meant to be in love just yet, heck, the squad were supposedly still in DC. she could later on give her constructive critisism to the writers who obviously didn't think this through well enough. giving an action war movie a romantic sub-plot? seriously, this wasn't the notebook, this was supposed to be intense stuff so the last thing anyone would expect would be a kiss between two squad members whom natalie was sure that if it was real life, they'd be in trouble if anyone found out.

when he took her hand, well, he just took her hand. but to teddy and jodie it probably meant everything in their blossoming romance. the characters had chemistry, nat had to admit, but it would've had to take really good actors to bring that chemistry to screen. and both she and jack were probably that good enough actors ( well nat already knew she was good enough ) to have the crew sitting on the edge of their seats whenever teddy and jodie looked at each other so intensely in the eyes.

now, here they were and time had come for them to... kiss. natalie wasn't exactly anticipating this, but at least they would get it over and done with. the kiss wasn't exactly a simple peck either, but a sweet long touch on the lips - though to her it beat marrying him, poor nina. she didn't know that he'd catch onto her twitch, for when he started laughing out of character she wondered what the heck had happened. oh yeah, her. they let their hands go and he accused her of being shy. shy?! that was the last thing she was being! she crossed her arms, tapping her foot in irritation. she scoffed, "only someone as arrogant as you would believe that me, out of all people, would be shy to kiss you. i've done this so many times before and trust me, you're the first actor i'm not looking forward to kissing." she glanced past jack to look at matt with a look of 'why do we have to do this?' on her face then back at jack. she unfolded her arms, "can you not be such an ass for once? no wonder why your wife hates you." she said with seriousness in her voice as the crew shuffled in their places muttering as if she'd somewhat 'burned' him. she knew well that she shouldn't have brought something personal of his into work but it'd just slipped out. picking up the rifle and walking back to the edge of the rooftop, she was ready to do the whole thing again.

the smirk on his face never subsided. Not even for a second. Matter of fact, it was all jack’s amusement more than it was teddy’s love interest. Even jack here wasn’t so sure why, in the middle of the stunts and action scene, two people would get the need to have a cute moment. It was a scene that chick viewers would find so perfect. Even the worst of movies had that cutesy scene. Ever seen Transporter? Good movie, but i mean the main dude. he’s like action hero, actioning it up with all his transporter actions and still is cool enough to apparently have time to get himself a sex scene to add a little juiciness into the film. Seriously?

Honestly, those scenes pissed Jack off. It was like hello! Have you forgotten who you are?! Yeah, she’s hott, but forget the girl, you’re supposed to be blowing brains out. It was pretty pointless. Jack could kiss a girl any day, did it have to be in the middle of an intense action scene while filming? This was still amusing to him. He chuckled when she gave that annoyed look and ignored the death glare from the director. Jack listened to her comment, but at the same time dismissed it, shaking his head in fake sympathy, ”C’mon, do I not look kissable?” He tried to encourage her. It really hurt, though. I mean sure he was an ass, but who wouldn’t wanna kiss him?

Jack turned to her when she spoke again and usually he just flashed that smug smirk when he was called an ass, but the comment about his wife that followed just caught him off guard. He didn’t really care about the fact that his personal life was thrown into his work situation. It was the fact that she was actually right. No wonder Nina hated his guts; he was an arrogant asshole. He looked up at Natalie quietly, not really moving when she walked back. ”Earth to Bailey!” He heard someone call and just looked over. ”WHAT?!”

He snapped a little too harshly. No one answered as Jack on his own figured out they needed to do that again. ”Sorry.” He called out again. Gawd, that girl just knew how to kill a mood. He walked back over and got back in front of her on the edge in the position again as if he’d just been pulled back up by Natalie. The lines worked on again, as they were back on their feet, in the same scene that he’d started laughing at. The amused smirk of his just wasn’t that effective anymore. You could tell it wasn’t Jack’s amusement, it was all Teddy that time. And if it weren’t for Teddy, Jack really wouldn’t be smiling right now.

if only she could shoot that smirk off his face. okay, stop with the shooting, natalie wasn't a violent person and was actually a pacifist. but still, with jack's smirking no one cared plus it did him no justice. this wasn't a comedy film, so really, jack's off-screen smirking wasn't appreciated by natalie at all. it only made her think that he was having fun and finding it amusing taunting her and all. well, it was amsuing to see someone as serious ( at times ) as natalie interact with the less serious person in the world. they were complete polar opposites, but that didn't stop the casting directors from choosing them to play love interests. did they have chemistry? eh they looked cute but really, it was all in the acting and these two happened to be really good actors.

it wasn't very healthy to have such bad thoughts about her co-star. they were childish really, and believe it or not natalie could be rather immature and not act like the uptight mature actress she always seemed to be. it was a good thing she wasn't a demon or something like in that movie natalie's typist watched just the other day called case 39 where this little girl had bad thoughts about bradley cooper's character and he died that same night. pretty creepy. anyway, natalie couldn't help but think of jack falling off the building and on the mattress at the bottom and breaking a bone. or maybe he accidentally shoots himself in the crotch later on, she didn't know. maybe he could get run over by a trailer, or better yet get fired. rather cruel huh? poor jack. as much as she wanted to stop those thoughts, they were the only kind of thoughts going through her head. well that and matt, but that's another story.

she didn't exactly know what, but she knew she triggered something when she mentioned nina's name. of course, he was basically in love with her, or not. she didn't really know. the only information she knew about her world these days was from the information her older sister told her and even then it came from the magazines. natalie never really had a say in what kathy usually told her anyway. so she knew jack and nina got hitched in vegas drunk and that nina hated jack almost as much as natalie hated him. poor girl. she could try and think about how jack was feeling as a man but really, that wasn't such a feminist thing to do. she felt sorry for nina more than anything. she was a sweet girl them having met on many occassions, only two years younger than her, and seemingly moralistic. what happened there? oh well, it was none of natalie's business anyway.

as jack took his position back on the edge of the building, natalie went back down on the floor as well. this was going to be a long day but it was all part of the job. they had to be serious now, no more smirking or laughing or thinking cruel thoughts about co-stars getting seriously injured. they managed to end up right back at the scene jack ruined it all. damn, she should have pushed him off the building when she had the chance. they were holding hands again and natalie knew to keep her twitching to herself and noticed the smirk on jack's face wasn't so big as before. but that didn't matter to her now, they were about to kiss. ”Good thing you saved me, then, right?” jodie gave a small laugh in amusement before moving her head closer to his, she stared at his lips as her eyes naturally furrowed. now jodie was supposed to feel conflicted with her personal life and her duties as an american soldier, but her heart was screaming louder than her head and just to try and see if teddy was really worth it was too tempting not to pass. the whole set went silent watching the two as every intense second passed. jodie took a small step forward before their lips lightly touched. natalie couldn't really think about killing jack right now, otherwise it wouldn't have looked believable. she was, as they said, a great actress.

At least her little wishful thinking came true. That smirk on his face really was shot off, but with words, not the rifle. She really did know how to kill a mood, this girl. It was bad enough that every cast and crew in this production knew that Natalie hated Jack. But when she brings up the fact that his own wife hated him? He couldn’t even smirk at that; there ws nothing amusing about the fact that Nina Clarke wasn’t happy being with him. Granted, it was a complete shock; I mean, I’m sure he knew from the beginning that there would be so many things in this world she’d suffer than be married to him. It hurt, but being the stubborn one, he didn’t want to break it off with her. No, it wasn’t even about the money anymore. It was more the fact that he might be falling for her.

He just hated the fact that everyone had to make it their business, just because he was a TV star. He’d sometimes even considered doing the whole Hannah Montana thing where he puts on a wig and live his life in disguise so that no one would assume it’s their business. Then again, almost everyone in his life was well known so it wouldn’t really help. Jack snapped out of his thoughts and let go of Natalie’s hand and snaked his own around her waist just to pull her closer when Teddy saw that her face looked doubtful.

She took the last step and he felt his lips against hers. Teddy didn’t really car at this point that he had an important duty to upload. Well, he did, but right now, he was a little distracted to pay attention. Teddy felt like there was nothing that could bring him down at this point. Jack, on the other hand, tried hard to pretend like it wasn’t happening. It didn’t work. He didn’t want to kiss her. His mind instantly shut off the fact that he was acting anymore. It wasn’t happening, nope. He was kissing Nina, yeah. That was it.

That’s what he started to tell himself as he closed his eyes and deepened the kiss, remembering the last time he was able to kiss his wife like this. Just before he left New York to be here for filming. Hell, he ended up staying there for a couple more nights because it felt so good to be with her. Jack got into it and everyone on the set got even quieter. Of course the scene was supposed to be faded out after a minute of them kissing. No one probably ever did expect for Jack to be into it, though.
