first day on set was something mitch had been looking forward ever since he landed a lead role in split decision. elliot smith was the district attorney in a murder case. this was mitchs first lead role and he would be appearing along side two a listers - natalie delaney and jack bailey. he was excited to work with natalie because of the plot between their characters. elliot was in love with natalies character, lauren, the mother of the murderers girlfriend. mitch loved acting, and acting plots in which he was in love with the other character were always interesting for him. he didnt always enjoy these sorts of plots, normally because he wasnt very fond of the actress he had to love. but he had met natalie at a few script readings, and few small press junkets before filming had started, and she was lovely. she was an older woman, so he thought she would be really quite mature and experienced. he also loved her glamorous side. she reminded him of an old movie star from the sixties or something. from when audrey hepburn was around. he liked that vintage glamour. he sometimes wondered if he could pull it off. like, the crisp tuxedo with a woman on either side. all al capone-esque. he doubted it. he never saw stuff like that in los angeles. and didnt enjoy the lifestyle in new york.

that was definitly something he would have to try and change for this role seeing as the filming took place in manhattan. he wasnt fond of the busy streets. filming wasnt too bad though. he was relatively unknown and had a small fanbase, so he wasnt hounded at work. or at least he hadnt been yet. this was the first day of filming, and people probably didnt know where the filming was taking place. as it became known, though, he figured more and more fans of jack, natalie and perhaps gwen pastino, would turn up asking for autographs. he really had his fingers crossed that people would begin to ask for his autograph and pictures with him too. he could only wait and see though. people coming up to him would mean he was getting noticed and known. it would mean people were talking about him, and that could only be good news. he had to have that happen to him. that was his ultimate goal. in all honesty.

filming had almost finished for the day, and mitch had done his first scenes with natalie. he realised he was very, very lucky to have the opportunity to work with people like her. talented people like her. during scenes, the cast were supposed to sit behind the cameras, resting or whatever. right now mitch was sat next to natalie. he smiled before turning to her, "so, what do you think? he pointed to himself, suggesting he was asking the question about himself, "am i up to the par?" he laughed, he figured it could be an awkward question to answer. he did honestly want her opinion though. he liked to know how to improve. he really wanted to scale the ladder of fame. and he realised doing this film, and working with natalie, could really help him. obviously that wasnt the only reason he was talking to her. he liked her as a person. she was funny, and very easy to work with. if he was honest, he was beginning to think the feelings his character had to have to her character were transpiring into real life feelings. he would go red if she said 'good job' or something to him - something people would smile and say thanks for normally. and these feelings were not professional. but he couldnt help it. it was just him.

natalie couldn't have been more happier to be back in the comforts of new york. spending the last five months away from the city she felt most at home at, it was great that the next film she was shooting for was right here. she knew she missed the bright lights, the noises, and the daily bustle of such a large city. thinking about it now, it had actually been two years since she filmed a movie in new york despite living here. adam was the last movie she filmed, and it was in greenwich village - the same area in which her apartment was located. it was simply beautiful there, she could always say. the brick apartments that stood right on the edges of the street were all lined up in different shades of red and orange, and they all seemed to give a classic heritage feel to the streets.
