[/color] anyone!lucie didn't usually bother going places unless she had someone to go with, but today was different. the sun was shining, it was beautiful outside. everything looked so vibrant, and it gave lucie a certain jolt of adrenaline and energy to see everything else so...alive. but of course, lying in the sun always did make her a little bit sleepy, too. she'd decided to venture out to santa monica beach and lay out for a while.
why would she want to just lie around on a beautiful day like this? well, firstly she needed a tan. the winter had found lucie inside her condo, in sweaters and robes. the sun had been peeking around a couple of clouds all season but lucie never saw the point of sunbathing in the wintertime. now that it was finally summer, lucie could put on a bathing suit and enjoy the sun and the weather. she also enjoyed lying around at the beach to people-watch. the different people she saw at the beach were so interesting in their own ways--she saw a young family walking by, and lucie smiled. a young mother, no older than 25 and her husband or boyfriend, and their small child, walked by, laughing as the little girl enjoyed the sand and the water lapping at her feet. if that wasn't sweet, lucie didn't know what was.
contemplating going in the water, lucie lie on her beach towel with a smile on her face. it was hard not to smile in this kind of weather. for lucie, anyway. when the sun was shining, so was she. this was her favorite kind of down time--lying in the sun, looking as people walked by, listening to the sound of the waves breaking and lapping the shore. it was such a shame for anyone to miss out on this that she almost regretted not bringing someone with her to enjoy it. almost, but not quite.
