Filming for Lucia's new movie titled 'Slayer by Night' would be starting soon on location in Canada, and she was excited, and even more excited because her bodyguard had to come along with her for the three months of filming. They would be stuck with one another, and wether or not that was good or bad she didn't know. Their relationship wasn't healthy. They liked each other a lot but were both very closed off people, especially Vince, and Lucia wanted him to open up to her, but wasn't sure if that was going to happen the way she wanted it to. Him being her employee also put a strain on whatever type of relationship they had. Lucia was in the spotlight every moment that she was awake and the only time they could have any privacy was when they were in her home, and everytime he came over it was supposedly all "business"; which was rarely ever true. Even though Lucia wanted him to be open, she kind of understood why he was so closed off. They couldn't be together, not openly, and if you can't share your love with the rest of the world then it's pretty much pointless. She had been loving her fame up until she found a man she wanted to be with, which of course turned out to be the man she couldn't be with, or shouldn't be with, and she was no California Amor. She hated giving the media something to discuss about her personal life.

The journey had already begun from Los Angeles to Canada, with a major stop in New York. Vince and Lucia had left for their trip early to visit relatives and such in the big apple. They were staying at the Palace Hotel, in separate rooms of course. They probably wouldn't have had a problem staying in the same room together, but the media would and so would her manager. Even though they were in separate rooms that wouldn't stop Lucia from sneaking over to see him. They arrived the night before and she was too tired to do anything by stumble in her room, strip down to her underwear, fall on the bed, and sleep until eight in the morning the next day. She wanted to spend as much time with Vince as she could without a bunch of people noticing. But while she was in New York she had to make sure to visit her aunts, uncles, and cousins daily or else a fit would be thrown. She had to visit them, she stayed with them on holidays when she was out of school in her teenage years. They were the ones that helped her start her modelling career.

Upon waking up she slid into one of the fuzzy hotel robes and ordered enough breakfast for two, all to be delievered to the room. After delivery she peeked out the door to make sure that the bell hop had left the floor completely. Once she was sure he was gone, she grabbed the silver tray of food and snuck across the hall into Vince's room and shut the door quietly behind her. "Good morning sunshine." That was her announcing her arrival. If he wasn't up, he would be now. "I brought breakfast. Do you want the peep show too?" She joked, because she was wearing nothing but lingerie underneath her robe. There had been a similar scenario with them two before, except this time Lucia wasn't going to seduce and pleasure him. Sucks for him. She set the silver tray of food on the tiny table. Normally both of them would have been up two hours ago working out, but it was vacation, and they deserved it.

Vince had been too tired when they arrived to even do anything before bed. He usually did a couple hundred sit ups before passing out, but that night, all he'd done was carry Lucia's and his bags from the cab up to her room, then into his and collapsed on the bed. He was exhausted from the plane ride over here, having forgotten about the time differences. When he first arrived in LA, it was killer getting adjusted and they were obviously getting the better of him now. Although, the flight wasn't the only reason he was tired. It might have been a combination of that and the extreme lack of sleep he'd been dealing with for the past little while. He couldn't deny himself anymore. He was head over heels for Lucia. He was in love with his boss. He never thought it would happen and much less him admit it, but here it was. And he had no choice but to accept it on face level. It wouldn't do him any good to deny it now, it was painfully obvious. He'd even told her, for Pete's sake. She knew, and he wasn't sure what to think about it. Normally, well, there wasn't anything normal about this situation. He didn't know what to do, especially since he felt like the feeling were one sided. He was still really unsettled about the fact that he told her one of the deepest things he could ever say to her, and she laughed at him. He didn't care what type of laugh it was.. a laugh is a laugh. Luckily for Lucia, though, poor Vincent had fallen victim to the comfortable hotel bed and the blinds being drawn shut so tight he couldn't see the sun. Usually he rose and fell with the sun, going to bed when it was down and waking just before it came up. But his exhaustion was playing tricks on him. He hadn't even set an alarm the previous night. He didn't exactly know what relaxing was, and had every intention of setting his four-thirty alarm so he could wake up, run, and get his metabolism going.

However, this morning, he wasn't awake at the crack of dawn. He was actually still asleep when Lucia came into his room, which was a really strange thing. He'd never out-slept anyone in his entire life, not even his family, who were all early risers also. Had he known she was going to enter with breakfast, he would have made himself presentable. He never would have dreamed of being in nothing but his boxers, sprawled out over the white sheets of the hotel bed. He'd been trying to keep it professional for a while now.. backing away after he'd dropped the L bomb with her.

When she gave him her greeting, he basically did a one-eighty flop in the bed and sat bolt straight, wondering what the hell was happening. He never slept very heavily, always woke up at the slightest of sounds but somehow she managed to barge in there with breakfast without him knowing. He rubbed his eyes for a second, just being groggy before he realized what the hell was going on. He almost sprang up to get dressed, wash his face.. the usual. But instead, he reminded himself if he wanted to show her he loved her, it wouldn't be through doing things like that. It would be by being himself, being candid and open with her. He climbed to his feet, rubbing his eyes some more. "Something tells me the peep show is closed," he said with a groggy little smile that was unharmed by the day's happenings. People rarely got to see Vince when he was tired, or had just woken up. It was almost a whole different man, even though he could be up, ready, and alert at a moment's notice. It was nice to just relax for once, even if he didn't really know how to do it. He eyed the food, wondering about it for a second. Eating before working out was an option? He was stunned. None the less, he took a seat on one side of the miniature table. He felt too rugged for this hotel, but was going to try to enjoy it all the same. He was beginning to miss Alabama ever so slightly, though he never thought he would. After sitting for half a second he stood, went over to his bag, and dug out a shirt to put on, along with a pair of shorts. "Sleep well?" he asked casually, re-taking his seat to lay claim to a piece of toast. "This feels so backward," he said, referring to the lack of working out he'd done. To be truthful, he felt like a lazy bum. It seemed this little bit of vacation had Vince opening up like a book. Well, maybe not that drastic, but it was a start.

that night they had spent at her house being romantic together was magical for her, especially since before that vince told her that he loved her, over the phone. now most people would be like 'omg over the phone?! what a pussy!' but for vince, lucia would accept it. she had called him first, or well she had at least called him back from his phone call that she had missed earlier. she knew, or rather she had thought, that him and cali had been sleeping together. she swore they had been sleeping together! compared to lucia, california was different. cali made herself seem like the biggest whore on the face of the planet and she oozed confidence. if she wanted a man she was all over him like white on rice, and how she got her men was not being casually alluring, no, she was sexual. lucia was sexual, but not right off the bat, and she wasn't clingy, and she never really felt the need to approach a man, every male she had been with had chased after her. cali was so forward and nearly a decade younger, and so lucia thought she was a threat. and when she was sure that they were sleeping together, she tried to keep her distance from him. it was obvious that she had feelings for him, and if she couldn't have him she wouldn't try, so she kind of gave up...kind of, not completely, after all they did make some amends. but that night that they talked on the phone and he revealed that he loved her, she laughed because she was nervous and he was cute, and he had opened up to her, and she was surprised. that night she didn't want to tell him that she loved him, how could she be sure?

when they were alone together she felt the chemistry. she was drawn to him, and when she was with him she wanted to be close to him, not sitting across the room. she liked the conversations they conjured up, sometimes they made no sense to anybody but themselves. when she was with her ex-husband she had never felt the way she did with him like she did with vince. now they she was divorced she saw how desparate she was to be married. all of her siblings had settled down or were in the process, and she was one of the oldest of the siblings, and she was lonely. being a swimsuit model it wasn't hard for her to meet somebody that had established a name in hollywood and would impress her family. then after she was forced to be with him almost every moment of every day, she realized how much of a dirty scum bag he was. all he ever wanted was to have sex, and they treated each other like crap. he would actually get her angry and them then apologize just to have make up sex. she woke up and got out of that one real quick. now he had a small career and he had to bask in her fame that was thrown in his face every time he checked out at the super market. vince frustrated her sometimes, but he wasn't a scum bag, and he actually cared for her or at least from what she could tell.

she watched him jump out of bed with a small chuckle. he acted as if there was a fire and he needed to get the fuck out! maybe she should have knocked first. he took one of the chairs that went with the mini table and she took the other chair, and sunk down into it. "yeah. i slept hardcore. i was tired." they had both been extremely tired the night before. "when i walked in this morning i either expected you to be off in the gym or awake and ready to kill me for barging in." she took a piece of bacon off of one of the plates and nibbled on it. "but instead i was greated with a groggy vince in his boxers." she playfully winked at him from across the table. "wait, what feels backwards?" he didn't specify, so she thought that maybe she had done something wrong, she was confused.

Vince was still trying to get used to the whole, casual relationship thing. He had tried to hard before to keep it strictly professional, not let it slip that he felt anything in the slightest for her. He was a man that deeply concealed his feelings. He'd always felt that revealing feelings was something that shouldn't be done, no matter the circumstances. Emotion was one of the only things that someone could keep private for themselves anymore, especially hitting the B-list like he had. Nothing could be kept to himself, if it was any type of business it was the business of the public. It seemed half the time, the magazines knew things before he knew it himself. It was truly uncanny how quickly word got out, and he had to say he hated it. He almost preferred his simple life in the Marines, when he went home to Alabama occasionally where nothing ever changed. He was always the cute bachelor of the town who never really got involved much, even though his aunt was constantly trying to hook him up with some of the girls. He didn't want anything to do with the small town girls who wanted nothing but marriage and children. He wanted a girl with a dream, a goal.

Lucia had that; and more. He saw so much in her. Most people probably just assumed he liked her for her body. It was true he did love her body, her curves, every little dimple but it was more than that to him. Sure, he might have been a little bit of a womanizer since his college days, using women as disposable pleasure cruises for himself, good only as long as they were putting out for him. But with Lucia it was so much different. He felt like it was possible for him to open up to her, to let her know how he was feeling. Hell, he wanted to tell her, show her the way he felt, no matter what it was. If he was feeling happy, he kind of wanted her to know. But at the hesitation she displayed at him opening up and sharing this information with her, he wasn't sure if it was the right decision at all. That night they'd spent in her pool, he was open and very real about his feelings, telling her what he was thinking when he was thinking it. But ever since then, he felt the need to sort of rein himself in, put on the brakes a little. He was moving fast, sort of like a truck with the brake lines cut and no runaway ramp. He'd had a sobering work out the other morning where he'd realized that this was extreme shit he was talking and thinking about right now. Love wasn't something he'd ever felt before, so he needed to seriously consider what was happening to him right now. It was a little late to take it back, but he wasn't sure he wanted to. He knew he felt something for her, and that something was damn strong.

That was why he wasn't running around like an idiot trying to make himself presentable to her. She was comfortable enough to prance over here in nothing more than a robe, so he should be comfortable with showing her what she'd already seen. Well, even less than what she'd already seen. He couldn't help it. He had no problem showing his body off to girls he only wanted to fuck, but now that he wanted to actually maybe even settle down with this woman, he felt like he should be a little more proper than that. But he decided to convince himself to just relax, show her that he could have a mellow side. No one knew he could have a mellow, relaxed side where he could sit there and just be still for a while, reflective and such. He certainly could, he just never felt comfortable letting people see it. He chuckled a little at her sleeping comment. "Obviously I was out like a light," he said almost with a sarcastic air, toward himself of course. He was a bodyguard for heaven's sake, he should be sleeping on the job! Someone could have come and snatched her from her room and-- Dear God Vince, shut up.

He recalled just exactly how exhausted he'd been and compared it to how he felt this morning. One word could sum it up. Alive. He liked it. He listened to her and had a brief, though hearty, laugh about it. "Yet, you happen upon your bodyguard snoozing like a cat," he teased, basically about himself. He watched her pick up the bacon. Such a fatty little food, but too damn tasty to pass up. He got a nice whiff of it too as he finished his toast, picking up a slice as well. He was a big guy, he could eat a lot before he started to feel full. He rolled his eyes a little at her explanation of what she saw. He was definitely still getting used to it. "It's pretty exclusive. Not even my parents saw it," he said, but immediately sort of regretted it. Both his parents were dead, killed in combat, but she didn't know that. No one but his family did. And her manager probably did, considering the guy had access to every file ever created that had the name Vince Moore and his social security number on it. He chuckled a little, just to make it less awkward; though what he said was true. Of course, his parents only stuck around for a couple months after he was born, then back to the Marines they went. They came home every now and then, but by that time his uncle had made him into a right fine young lad, up much earlier than the sun to do the necessary work around the house. Then they died, he got over it, and life went on. He jumped at the concerned tone in her voice, hoping she hadn't taken in the wrong way. "Not jumping into a pair of running shoes right after waking up," he quickly explained to her, not wanting her to take whatever she was thinking any farther. He certainly didn't think anything about her being with him was backwards. In fact, it was only just starting to feel right. He was beginning to be comfortable in his own skin.

Vince picked up a fork and delved into some of the French toast that was drizzled in syrup and calling his name. However, before he took a bite, he cut a piece off with the side of the fork, stabbed it, and held it over to her at mouth level. Okay, so even Vince could be cute when he wanted to. It happened more often when you caught him in moods like this.

there were plenty of things that lucia liked about vince, lots of things really. she didn't know everything about him. she had only met him a few months ago and even thought they spent nearly everyday together, they didn't know everything about one another. sure they knew each others quirks and their usual day to day routines, and they even knew what each other liked eat, do, etc. lucia liked reading, swimming, shopping, eating, and didn't like to work out even though she did or at least tried to everyday. it was like pulling teeth for her. but besides that, vince really didn't know much about her. he knew she had been married once before, but other than that he didn't know much about her past, he knew more about her career, since he worked for her and what not. what did lucia know about vince? well, he was protective, even though his job was to protect her he seemed to really take it seriously, as if she was his blood. she also knew that he was strong. he worked out all of the time, and he actually enjoyed it, and he had a rock hard body. the only thing she really knew about his past was that california wanted on his nuts all the time and that he was a former marine sergeant. he was pretty guarded, secretive, like he didn't trust people. lucia really wanted to prove to him that he could trust her. she put her life in his hands everyday.

his parents never even saw it. she didn't know anything about his parents either, but she wasn't going to turn the topic onto them. he never really talked about his family, and usually if somebody didn't talk about their family, then they weren't close. lucia told people about her family quite often, and she was new york solely to visit her aunts, uncles, and cousins. "then i must be pretty special." she smiled over at him. "although when i walked in the room you did act like a fire had just started." she teased. she was close to her family, she had two sisters and an older brother and when they were young they did everything together. there were enough of them that they didn't have to have friends over all of the time. and even as a busy adult lucia still managed to be a part of her siblings lives as their childrens. her nephews and nieces met the world to her, and she called them quite often, they were getting old: four, ten, and seven. she loved them. "my parents see me in my underwear all the time." she laughed at herself, she was a lingerie model so it wasn't as creepy as it sounded. the whole world saw her in her underwear, and she wasn't ashamed of it. lots of woman envied her and lots of men wanted her. it was her career.

"oh, right." she waved her hand in front of her face with a "psh. you'll just go work out later." the hotel had a gym in it anyway, and if went missing later that would one of the first places she'd look. "one day off of routine won't turn your twenty pack into a gut." she rolled her eyes playfully. he worried about silly things. his body was rock hard, as was hers, and a day of not working out wasn't going to ruin anything. although lucia didn't eat french toast and bacon every morning either. she fixed herself egg whites some mornings and sometimes turkey bacon. she talked to a nutritionist every once in a while for healthy alternatives to fattening food. her weakness was eating, she loved sugar and other most other fattening foods, just like a normal american. he stuck the fork in front of her face, and at first she was confused, so she kind of just sared at him, but quickly realized it was for her, and so she bit it off of the fork. aw he was being romantic. she wished they could walk down the street holding hands and she could just kiss him whenever she wanted, but that was quite impossible with cameras everywhere. they weren't normal people, they were watched, and even more now since they were "sleeping together" according to the media. that was only once and they had no confirmation anyway.

she stood up from her chair and plopped herself down on his lap, he should've saw it coming really. she picked up a clean fork and stole another piece of french toast. "i wonder what canada is going to be like." she wondered out loud, to herself really. especially with her ex-husband there. the only good part about that was that he was playing a vampire that she got to kill, she was looking forward to that actually. "but i'm going to go see my cousins today. what are you going to do?" well technically he was suppose to stay with her since he was her bodyguard, but since this was a 'vacation' he really could do whatever he wanted to. she would be fine taking a car to her cousins house, nobody was going to rush her. "but i don't like being away from youuuu." she stabbed a piece of french toast and put the fork to his mouth. breakfast was taking much longer since they were conversing and feeding each other. normally they probably would've had everything inhaled by now.

Vince rubbed his eyes a little, trying his hardest to get alert. As much as his brain seemed to rag on himself, his body had gotten used to this vacation thing. He hadn't remembered ever sleeping in.. well, not since he was a teenager anyway. It seemed that early start had him a little spoiled. A couple extra hours of sleep and he didn't know what to do with himself. He had to admit, he was pretty proud of himself, not overreacting to a potentially stressful situation. Yes, he considered her coming into his room unannounced a potentially stressful situation. Vince wasn't inexperienced with the ladies, but he was inexperienced in actually trying to impress them, and with how to make an actual relationship work. It wasn't something he did. He learned a girl's name, he took them home, slept with them, and kicked them out the next morning. That lifestyle fit him, but he had to keep reminding himself it was over and that this new one was even more fitting for Vince Moore in his thirties.

He couldn't help the handsome, cheesy smile that spread across his face when she said she must be pretty special. If she didn't know that by now, she was seriously dense. She had to know that he didn't just tell everyone he loved them. Actually, he'd never told anyone he loved them, aside from his Aunt. And she was probably the only one that had every loved him back. Well, that was a lie. His parents had loved him, but that really hadn't been enough. They told him, but only up until he was four years old, so he couldn't really remember it. He couldn't help but let his thoughts settle on the topic of his family, despite him chuckling about her comment on the nature of her arrival. "It's not every day an attractive woman bursts into my room first thing in the morning," he reminded her with a smirk. It was true.. Vince lived alone with his dog. There weren't exactly beautiful women barging into his house at all - she'd never even been there - let alone while he was still sleeping. He slept like a fly idles on a surface; ready to leap into action at a moment's notice. It was something that had been bred into him and forced to be habitual through training. However, it was only a curse now that he never really needed it anymore. He laughed for a while when she said her parents saw her in her underwear all the time. "So does half the world," he reminded her with the remnants of a chuckle. It was rather funny, and ironic, that her parents had to deal with her on billboards and commercials in nothing more than her skivvies. He calmed his laughing and sat contemplative for a second. What he said next came without any warning. "My parents were killed when I was four." The expression that followed explained that he hadn't expected that to come out. His green eyes were slightly wider than normal, like he didn't know how that slipped through. The silence that happened was awkward, and he hated himself for saying it. "Er.. sorry, that wasn't necessary," he said apologetically.

After that, he was eager to move the conversation in a different direction. He cleared his throat. "Canada is wet and cold," he said with a shrug. His marine duties had taken him to Canada and several other countries. "And they have syrup." He eyed the plate full of french toast and syrup sitting in front of them. Hey, it was probably Canadian syrup. She placed herself in his lap, and he had to admit he didn't see it coming. With all his tactical training and know-how, he had no foresight into the minds of women. He could tell them what they wanted to hear and give them what they wanted in bed, but beyond being aesthetically pleasing, he was a novice. But he reacted calmly none the less, curling his thick arms around her loosely at the waist. He concentrated for a moment on shoveling some food into his mouth. He was a hungry guy, though admittedly his appetite was a little thrown off by the change in routine. He was a guy that liked routine about as much as he liked sex. Which was a fair amount. And he was deprived in the sex department, so his hunger had to work double time. He was still getting used to not getting laid all the time. It was a hard transition but he was working diligently at dealing with it. He didn't have a choice.

She fired off her question and he gave an indecisive shrug. "The same thing I always do. I'll go with you to your cousins. Make sure you're safe. Go.. run? Or something?" he said with yet another shrug. He really didn't know how to have a vacation. He was still responsible for her and he would see that she got where she was going safely, then he'd just go on with his own life. He'd probably run, come back here to the hotel gym, shower, and go get her from wherever she was. That was what he always did. Well, minus the hotel part, and sometimes he didn't go to the gym. Basically, his life consisted of: eating, babysitting Lucia, working out, and a little sleep on the side. It was just the structure of his daily life and he was alright with it. For now at least. Sure maybe he dreamed of one day settling down with a wife, maybe having some kids -- whoa, Vince. Since when the fuck is that in your plans? He shook his head slightly at himself, opening his mouth for the fork and French toast in front of it. He swallowed the bite. "Breakfast is good," he commented mindlessly as he leaned against her a little, making sure his burly form wasn't putting too much pressure on her. His hand wandered up the sleeve of her fuzzy bathrobe, brushing the silky soft underside of her forearm. In doing so, he caused the shoulder of the robe to slide askew, exposing her tanned shoulder. He leaned in, placing a kiss on it. He wanted to take advantage of the privacy and candidness he could have with her here.

The last time that Lucia hadn't slept with somebody that had gained some kind of name for themselves was probably in high school. That's when she started modelling, and then after that she just slept with celebrities, not on purpose, it was really just a coincidence. Most of the celebrities weren't A-list but that never mattered to her. She actually never really slept around, she had reasons for sleeping with all of the guys she ever had; they were charming, she usually knew them way more than just one night, or she was in a relationship with them. The last relationship she was in was with Artie Kendrick, and they were married, and she hated it. That was five years ago, and after that she promised herself she would focus on her career, and she had, and now she was watched like a hawk by the media and had loads of cash, and was staring in some major motion pictures. Now that her career was locked in for the moment, maybe she could focus on love and happiness, and that's what she was doing. She never meant to make her bodyguard fall for her, but he was working out quite well as both and employee and a lover.

She rolled her eyes playfully at his half the world comment. Her parents were proud of her and that was really all that mattered. She had one of the easiest jobs in the world and she wasn't complaining. Her personal life was more difficult than her career. Stripping down in front of a camera lens was no big deal. She had a banging body and if people wanted that to represent their lingerie or swim wear, she wouldn't deny them, and she was well thanked in return. After that though he opened up to her rather unexpectedly. Sure she had never heard him talk about his parents, but she wasn't expecting them to be dead either. She kind of just expected him to not be close with them. He had been a marine and now he was a bodyguard travelling the country to keep track of celebrities, she didn't really expect him to be a mama's boy with the hard personality he showed the world. Now she kind of knew why he was the person he was; he grew up without any formal parents. "No no, don't be sorry." She gave him a warm smile, not wanting him to be uncomfortable or think that she was just because he had revealed something personal. She gave him a squeeze. "You can tell me anything." She didn't know if she drilled that in his brain enough. But she also noticed that he didn't want to be a mood killer, and so she wouldn't continue asking him questions about his parents death. Maybe some day she would find out more.

She squinted her eyes at him slightly as he responded to her question. "You don't have to go with me if you don't feel like it. I didn't bring you with me just because you're my bodyguard." That's what he probably thought. "I thought you'd have things you could do. You did come to California from New York?" She said it in the form of a quesion in case she was wrong, but she was pretty sure she was right. He did about the same thing everyday, with no break in the routine except just eating before working out today. It was kind of pathetic, but she knew marine's when by a strict schedule when they were in training, and he was probably just use to doing everything the same way every day. That wasn't much of a life, but Lucia wasn't all that spontaneous either. The only exciting thing in her life at the moment was being in a forbiddin love affair with him. Other than that she usually woke up, ate, worked out, and swam all day. She smiled at him as his hand ran up her arm. She loved being sensual with men, especially with Vince. The bathroom slid down, she didn't want to wear it anyways, but she had to skip across the hall in more than just her underwear. He kissed her shoulder, then she placed her hand under his chin and gently tilted his head back and brought her lips to his. "Delicious." She commented with a smirk as she went in for another kiss.

Sometimes when she was around Vince she felt the need to control herself. Every time she was around him she could have jumped him and had sex with him. She untied her bathrobe and let her arms slip out of the sleeves, it slid off of her upper body, leaving her exposed in her bra and underwear. She wasn't trying to seduce him or anything. "Do you want to come to my cousins?" And she decided to continue on with the conversation.

Vince was reassured by the warm smile she gave. He didn't want to be a total freak and change the mood of their morning with heavy conversation. He liked keeping it light and happy, not this dark stuff that could wait for later. He was still getting used to having a boss who actually cared about what his life was like. It was strange, because in the beginning he thought they would want to know the life story of the person they were entrusting their life to, but it was the exact opposite. As long at they got their morning coffee and didn't get raped by America's creeps, he got paid to punch idiots and keep his mouth shut. That was about the extent of it. So having Lucia, working for her, was different for him. He figured, even originally, that she didn't want to hear anything about him, nor did she care to. It wasn't his job to complain about the shitty life he'd been given. Hell he didn't complain a whole lot, at least not about the hand the powers at be gave him in this round of poker, to put it metaphorically. Complaining really didn't help, it just made it more miserable for the people around you. So Vince kept to himself and accepted it, but it felt nice to have her reassure him that it was okay that he'd opened up about it. He would tell her more eventually, if she expressed some interest in knowing. There was no reason in telling her things she didn't want or need to know. Although she would probably ask why she never got to meet his parents, but of course, that was taken care of. The best Vincent Moore could do was his aunt and uncle, maybe a couple of friends he'd made from his time in the service. He was a fairly unattached guy.

He nodded after the squeeze and the reminder, but he didn't want to drown out the peppy mood they had going on. However, at the way she responded to his "the same thing I always do" answer, he figured he was about to get in trouble for being a man of routine. He smiled a little, just at her comment. Why? It made him happy to know he was wanted, not needed. There were plenty of places he was needed. He was needed overseas where his friends were all battling the evils of the day, he was needed around the continent where people were getting stolen off the streets and raped. He was needed with Lucia, to make sure the same fate wasn't made hers. Although he might not have been seriously needed to make sure Lucia was alright, but he'd much rather be there than anywhere else, which was thoroughly strange for Vince. He grew up with the mentality of not leaving a man behind, of living in the moment and taking adrenaline like crack. He always loved the thrill of the chase, the thrill of an undercover mission, of breaking national laws under strict order of the very government that put the orders in place. It was a lot of fun for a while, running around like a heathen with a gun, but it wore off quick. Sure he still liked romping around like he was still part of the Marines, but he liked having the freedom he had. Not that he used it all that much.

"You're still my responsibility.." he reminded her, looking down at their breakfast spread then back up at her. He didn't want anything to happen to her.. she wasn't just his boss, she meant a hell of a lot to him. He knew they hadn't exactly been together very long, but it was something he felt like he had to do on a personal level.. keep her away from the creeps that he knew existed. He chuckled a little at her statement-turned-question. He nodded, "I do have thinks I can do. I'm going to visit my old apartment. Eventually.." he said, trying to decide when exactly that had been in the plans. Well it hadn't been. He really needed to grow out of his routine and be spontaneous.. that was the point of this, wasn't it? He looked off to the side contemplatively for a second, trying to decide what the hell else he could do. The truth was he didn't exactly leave much to tie him down anywhere he went. He never really made great friends, never favored any particular place. He was so used to being uprooted easily that in his six years in New York he never really managed to put down real stakes in the city. Sure there was the occasional club, occasional drink at some bar, but he was never considered a regular. He guessed that's how he was spontaneous. "I can find something to do if you don't want a shadow," he teased finally, a small smirk toying with one side of his mouth.

Vince noticed the smile as he stroked her skin. He didn't mind being tender, at least not with her. He trusted her that she wouldn't see it as a weakness from him, because it wasn't. He could snap it up and be a hard ass again in half a second. He was being soft around her because he knew that's what she wanted to see, it showed how comfortable he felt around her. He felt like he could be this way, and not have to worry about being judged. Besides, if he acted like this maybe it would show the true way he felt for her, which was much deeper than just a bodyguard/boss relationship. After the kiss on her shoulder, he felt her fingertips at his chin, craning it back slowly. He looked up at her as she got closer, eventually his eyes drifted shut. He savored the kiss as long as it lasted, which was, obviously, too short. But he didn't get greedy, he just smiled and huffed a chuckle when she pulled away and made her comment. It was obvious he agreed, but by the time he formed enough letters in his head to make words, she was kissing him again, which he was returning earnestly. He wished every single day of his life would start out this way. He would truly be a happy man if it did. But for now, he was alright with just this time.

Vince watched her slide the fuzzy fabric off her shoulders and he helped her with it, but left it around her hips on his lap. He was used to her in very little clothing by now, and even if he hadn't been he was comfortable around naked women. He'd been quite the womanizer back in his day, so it was really nothing new for him. But for some reason, every time he saw her in less than what she wore with the general public, he couldn't help but get butterflies in his stomach. She was just beautiful, of course physically, no one could deny that, but emotionally as well. He knew she came with the baggage of an ex-husband, but he had plans for that prick in Canada. He couldn't think about Mr. Kendrick here in New York. He rubbed his palm up and down her bicep, eventually resting it there atop her shoulder as his thumb snuck beneath the strap to her bra. He tugged it down playfully. Nothing came out or anything, which was slightly impressive due to her hefty bust, but he was sort of happy it didn't. He didn't want to come across as a horny bastard who got excited every time a lady showed a bit of skin. But he did feel the need to touch her, at least in the simplest of ways. No he didn't want to get freaky here before they went to visit her family - er, she went to visit her family. He was slowly realizing that he didn't have to bang women to show he felt more for them than a simple physical attraction. Actually, he was content with just sitting here, being like this.

He leaned back in to kiss her shoulder blade lightly as she posed her question. He thought about it for a second, trying to decide if that's what she wanted or if she was just being polite. While he decided, he leaned back a little to take a bite of breakfast. He chewed and thought, finally deciding. "If you want me to," he said with a smile. He knew she'd roll her eyes and tell him to decide or something, but if she wanted alone time with her family he could understand that completely. But he was going to at least drop her off and pick her up from their place, because he just wasn't comfortable with her running around the Big Apple unaccompanied. He knew she was a big girl and could take care of herself, but if something happened to her he'd never forgive himself. He took another bite of toast and decided he was full, which was kind of surprising for him since he hadn't really eaten all that much. He could usually eat like a horse. Maybe it was because his body sensed all the useless carbs floating around and refused to take more in before he expended some. He didn't doubt it. He was in top physical condition. He reached up and pulled her hair over one shoulder, the one opposite the side he was on. He leaned in a bit, kissing up her shoulder, past her collarbone, and to the hollow area created by her jaw bone. He playfully hooked his index finger into the center of her bra just at the cleavage, his finger surrounded by the best pair of breasts he'd ever seen in his life. It only remained there for a second, until he decided it was a little inappropriate for breakfast flirtation.

"When are we leaving, cap'n?" he asked with a cute little grin. One that said 'I love fucking around with you'.

The truth about Lucia was that she never really made any kind of deep connections with people unless they were her family. She had spent part of her life in Israel, where she established some relationships with friends some hebrew school, but she had always been very attached to her siblings, and they complete each other. At the age of ten the Ferrera's migrated from Israel to the US. For Lucia's parents it was the promise of the American dream that had attracted them. They could have a better life in America and the children would have more opportunity as they grew older; a major turn on for them was that the children wouldn't be drafted into the Israeli Military when they turned eighteen because they would be citizens of the US. Sure she had friends throughout middle school and high school, but they weren't the kind of friends she shared everything with. Her best friends were her cousins. Sure she had healthy relationships with other people, but not really people that weren't her blood.

When she began pushing her way into the industry it was hard for her to intrust her career in a talent manager, until she realized they didn't have to get close and that they were meant to take in fresh young talent and raise them up in Hollywood to become the fiercest, brightest shining star in the galaxy. But as Lucia began modelling and being featured in magazines, more and more people became interested in her and she suddenly felt alone. She had moved to Los Angeles away from her family to pursue her career further. From that point on she became a little too trusting, landing her with a man a decade older and a miserable life. After her divorce she reigned herself back in and became rather lonely and hard. The only thing that made her happy was her career and the pay checks, she needed to distract herself. Any other lonely person would've given up and moved back home with her family to lead a normal life, but instead Lucia marched into her manager's office and told him that she wanted to do something bigger than just prancing around in underwear, that could only last so long and get a person so far. A few small movies here and there and one small part in a majorly anticipated movie shot her to the top. It was insane.

She felt lonely again being almost at the top alone with nobody to share it with. She always felt the pressure to be in a relationship, attempting to settle down and have a family. Her siblings contributed quite well to that. She had a newphew that was nearly a teenager and another that was getting into the troublesome ages, and a cute neice who was ready to start school. Her siblings were married or engaged, and Lucia was off playing with fame. Lucia really didn't want any type of significant other, but somebody she could share her experiences with, like a best friend. When Vince was hired as her bodyguard, she was skeptical. She didn't feel like her life was in danger, but it was almost as if her prayers had been answered. He would have to stick with her at all times, everytime she went somewhere. Suddenly she wasn't so lonely anymore, but pretty darn attached to a man she wasn't suppose to have or want.

"Technically i'm only your responsibility when you're told that I am." And when he was paid, and that was nearly all the time, except for when he slept. It was kind of weird how her manager just kept throwing money at him, and hefty amounts of it too. Vince hadn't done much to protect Lucia except follow her everywhere. Maybe he was pleased that the two had gone above and beyond the call of duty and actually became friends? Or maybe her manager was paying Vince more as incentive to behave, and if the rumors were true, not sleep together or become romantically involved. It was far too late for that though. She heard his plans for New York, seemed exciting... not really. When they were in Canada, or when they went back to Los Angeles they were going to have to do something together. Not a date, but an outing. Paintball anyone? He would like that, and it'd be new for her.

She covered her mouth as she yawned, obviously still tired from the long plane ride the night before. "I want you to." She had to give in, or else they would just be asking each other the same questions back and forth. 'Do you want to go?' 'I don't know, do you want me to go?' That was one thing that annoyed her about Vince, he didn't seem to be able to think for himself. But that was something she could easily look past, and then she could just dictate his life every time he had to make a decision. Hopefully her family wouldn't be insulted that she brought her bodyguard, that it didn't give off the vibe that she felt like she needed to be protected around her own blood. Because she really didn't. Hopefully they would all accept Vince and not just treat him like he was an extra unnecessary accessory in their home. To Lucia he was more than just her bodyguard, but when some people got around him they didn't feel the same way. Her cousins would probably just talk to him because he was gorgeous anyways. It was quiet for a minute and she felt his lips on her body. Her eyes shut and she enjoyed it, but was kind of disappointed that he went no further than her jaw. There were some mornings when she didn't mind a wake up make out session.

"We depart at eleven-hundred hours Sergeant." She teased right back, proud of herself because she knew she had said that right. That was really all she knew about the military, how to tell time, aside from knowing the branches and some titles. She knew that her calling him sergeant would screw with him, but she didn't care. They obviously had a thing for teasing each other. They did have quite a bit of time before they left, but they still needed a shower and such. She probably should be leaving to get across the hall to her own and start getting ready, but she wasn't interested in that thought. Finally she slid her bra strap back up her arm and onto her shoulder from him removing it earlier. She sighed, "I suppose we should go our separate ways now and shower and stuff." 'Should' being the key word. She craved more Vince though. She lingered there on his lap. "I'm stalling leaving. Give me a reason to stay." Actually, it was quite a suggestive statement. But being cute was good enough for her.
