he's convinced himself right in his brain
that it helps to take away the pain
The park wasn't exactly a normal location for Alex to spend his time at but once he had woken up this morning and couldn't seem to get back to sleep it seemed like the perfect location to go. As the tall muscular guy slipped out of bed and threw on a pair of faded and worn jeans along with a plain white T-shirt and a leather jacket he found himself wearing frequently now a days, he found himself heading out of the house with Tobias' leash wrapped around his hand heading for who knows where. Maybe it was a bad habit of Alex's he really didn't know but he usually found himself walking around LA aimlessly until he found a place that interested him. Despite the fact that he's lived here for a while he still doesn't know where much is besides a few places, a few restaurants, and where a few people usually hung out on the streets so he could get some of the substance he needed to survive, were located. He wasn't complaining though because as of now he didn't need much else to survive this city with blue skies that were tinted with a orangish brown color from all the waste in the city.
After walking for what seemed like only a few minutes, he found himself stopping in front of one of the many Starbucks located in LA and with a shrug tied Tobias to an empty table to grab a coffee since he was still feeling slightly hazy from the previous night of little sleep. When it was finally his turn to order his drink, he smiled warmly at the bartista, "Hey, uhh I'll just have black coffee." Reaching into his jean pocket he pulled out his warn leather wallet and pulled out a few bucks before slapping them onto the counter. "Thanks hun." Alexander playfully winked at her, ignoring the fact that she probably was staring at him like he was some crazy lunatic though if she was he didn't notice because he didn't look back at all as he walked off with his black coffee and grabbed his brindle boxer.
Silently he kept on walking down the streets of LA that by now were slowly filling with more and more people as the city slowly came to life. The good thing about being an unknown in this town was that no matter what no one noticed him so he didn't really have to worry about getting noticed and bothered; he could enjoy his time alone with his dog at least for now. Finally, he found himself at the city park not sure of how we got there, but he was there and Tobias was early smelling everything in sight as he pulled his leash as taunt as it would go. Letting himself chuckle a little Alex found himself a bench to sit down and wrapped the dogs leash around the leg of the bench so he didn't have to worry about being distracted by Tobias. Leaning down, he patted the dogs head, "Don't worry Toby, you would have stopped on me if we kept going." He said gently to the dog, talking in a lot softer tone that he usually did. It was odd how with his dog it was as if he was a different person. Alex was usually too busy putting up a facade to really be himself.
Once the dog settled down and laid down on the cement pathway, Alex pulled out a pack of cigarettes and his zippo lighter. Leaning over a little bit he cupped one of his hands around the cigarette before lighting it and slipping the lighter back into his pocket. Taking a drag from it, he reached back into his other pocket to pull out his phone he surprisingly had with him this time and opened the Internet before scrolling through the news page for something interesting. Silently, he sat there reading some article about Obama and BP half assedly while he drank his black coffee and took a drag of cigarette. It was an enjoyable moment and for a second he forgot he was at the park; at least until Tobias jumped up and started barking. There was someone coming but all Alex did was gently tap Tobias but once the dog didn't stop he dropped his phone and grabbed the dogs collar and looked at the person. "Sorry, he can be an ass sometimes." He muttered to the girl and offered them a crooked smile. "Oh hey Kate. How are you? Talk to my sister lately?" He spoke quickly, trying to recover as smoothly as possible.
