LIFE OF THE PARTY
lena's a very vibrant girl and she can easily light up a room. a social butterfly by nature, she isn't afraid of approaching new people or making a new person feel welcome. even if she may feel shy about a certain situation it doesn't show through because she can literally walk into a room full of strangers and schmooze around, striking up conversation with everyone. basically, she's one of those people that you make feel like you've known them forever after only talking to them for about five minutes. of course that's not to say it's some magical gift because it obviously doesn't work with everyone. nevertheless, charli tries to see the good in others and she tries to make friends before enemies. she's not one to judge and she likes to keep an open mind because it opens her up to new experiences.
one of the main things that make lena so vibrant, however, is probably her playful nature. even though she can act very mature, she is also a child at heart and lives for having a good time. now this doesn't involve getting wasted, sleeping around, and club hopping. sure, lena likes to party as much as the next person and maybe hit up a club or two every now and then, but she's not addicted to the lifestyle. as said before, she's a goofball and has more of a childish playfulness to her. the kind where she may suddenly get the idea to splash you with water if your standing nearby while she's washing dishes. she loves having fun and she loves putting a smile on other people's faces. and believe me, that isn't too hard when you hear some of the things she says.
GO HARD OR GO HOME
on a more professional level, charlene is a hard worker. she's devoted to her work, whether it's on or off the set, and she puts 110% intoalmosteverything she's doing. laziness and tardiness are two of her biggest pet peeves. while she can be a little more lenient on the second, she finds the first absolutely annoying. this girl is also used to working for what she wants and she believes that hard work is the true key to success. what's the point when everything is handed over to you on a silver platter? because she's so focused and driven, charlene is a very quick learner and she picks up on things fast. she's an eager learner who loves to keep her mind sharp by reading and writing.
ONE OF A KIND
though this may sound terribly cliche, charlene is a particularly unique girl. why? because she stands out from the crowd of brainless bimbos that infest hollywood. for one thing, she shows way more respect for herself and she's definitely more classy and sophisticated than most of those sell-outs who rose to the top. lena doesn't parade her body around in skimpy outfits that just barely cover her flesh. though she does know the meaning of 'dressing sexy', most of the time she prefers to wear stylish clothes that accent her body without letting anything out. after all, it leaves more to the imagination. oh and she doesn't hop into bed with every other guy she meets. in fact, charlene is still a virgin. that's right, at twenty six years old she is still a virgin. most guys don't believe her, but it's true. oh she's been pressured and tempted hundreds of times, but she was always the one to believe that you should wait until you meet the right person.besides her mom always threatened to kick her out if she got pregnant.
another thing that sets char apart from most of the other big-headed stars out there is the fact that she's actually humble. she isn't one to let stardom and attention go to her head, and she always tries to keep a level head. this is probably because she doesn't let herself forget where she came from, or the fact that she could fall just as easily as she rose. then again, she probably wouldn't have much of a breakdown if she did fall to rock bottom anyway. but that's just how charli is. she's so nonchalant, you could tell her that her condo was on fire and she would probably just look at you and say: "dang, i would be so screwed if my scripts got destroyed." yeah, no joke. it seems like barely anything ever phases the girl. but the thing with that is, while she may seem cool, calm and collected on the outside, nine times out of ten she's actually a nervous wreck on the inside. she just has the super freaky ability to hide it so well.
PERFECT ISN'T ME
okay so everyone has their flaws and lena is no exception. for one thing, she is horribly absentminded and losing her train of thought isn't very uncommon for her. you can often find her misplacing her things, forgetting what she's supposed to be doing, or losing hold of an idea she has. this is where her tendency for being random comes into the picture. don't be surprised when you're talking about your redecorating your house and she suddenly brings up jet skiing in miami. that's just lena. she's rather good at bringing up random topics out of nowhere. but hey, at least it can be a good conversation starter. that and her clumsiness. oh yes, she may look graceful, but charlene howard is clumsy. it's not so much that she has a balance problem (though she can be prone to tripping too), but it's more that she has a knack for dropping things and knocking into people. if you would don't want your valuables broken, i suggest you put them away before charli comes over.
remember that vibrant presence i mentioned earlier? well surprisingly enough, lena is actually insecure, especially when it comes to guys. she may exude an aura of confidence on the outside, but she is actually very critical of herself. there are plenty of times when she doesn't think she's pretty enough, or tall enough, or thin enough, or funny enough. but as i said, the area she's most insecure about is men. if a guy tells her that he thinks she's beautiful or gives her some other compliment, she'll smile and be polite, but she's secretly doubting his words. this is probably just because she's been through all kinds of guys who have lied, cheated, neglected her, and even those who only acted nice just to get to her body and have sex with her. of course there have been some good guys too, but it just seems the bad experiences stick the hardest, doesn't it?
as such, she has a hard time believing that a guy is being completely honest with her and wants to be with her for her and not some superficial reason. this partly accounts for why she's mistrustful of others. though she is outgoing and friendly, that doesn't mean she's gullible or stupid. she doesn't always trust everyone she meets and she's learned to keep an eye out for people and watch out for their motives. this is why it can be hard to gain her trust at first, but once you prove to her that you deserve it, she'll be happy to give it....her trust that is. geez, get your mind outta the gutter.

history evaluated.
charlene simone howard was born in birmingham, alabama on march 10, 1983. she wasn't raised in some big glamorous house and she didn't get all the coolest and latest toys, but charli enjoyed her childhood all the same. when you had brothers like hers, it wasn't hard to have a good time. the twins, darrion and dwayne, were always wrestling and getting into mischief, like the time they thought it would be a good idea to plant a stink bomb in the house, or place a whoopee cushion on their mom's chair at dinner. neither of those experiences ended well for them. at first they'd excluded charli from their activities because they'd been hoping she would have been a boy so that they would have an apprentice for their schemes.
but charlene was persistent and determined not to be left out, so the twins finally decided to let her tag along. but to make up for the fact that she was a girl, they gave her the nickname charli. so a good deal of charli's childhood involved hanging around her goofy twin brothers whose weasley-like shenanigans always got them into trouble. and of course there would be times when they gang up on her and make her the test dummy of their newest (and dumbest) schemes and plots, in which case their oldest brother sterling would intervene and come to charli's rescue. that often involved beating up the younger boys and making them promise to stop using their little sister as a test subject, but of course those promises never lasted long.
no one really understood why lena liked hanging out with her twin brothers so much, especially after her little sister, jasmine, was born. as they grew older she began to take more of a liking to her sister, though she still cherished the time spent with her brothers and they began to get more attached to their sister. (they even had a "graduation ceremony" that declared her worthy of mischievous schemes and "officially" welcomed her into their clique.) by the time another brother came around, the twins were already in high school so there wasn't much they could do with him except to get him to say bad words and do stupid stuff that would get him into trouble. when charlene got into high school and the twins went off to college, she began developing a stronger bond with jasmine.
it wasn't as if they never talked before or played together, they just hadn't been as close as lena had been with her brothers. in high school, lena stayed focused on her studies and did well. she was beginning to grow and fill out and boys were beginning to notice her in a different way, which intimidated her because they no longer wanted to play and hang out like the boys in kindergarten. luckily she had three older brothers, so most of them weren't dumb to try anything too stupid with her. her junior year of high school a changing point in her life. it was still early in the school year when she'd gotten news of the twins' latest stunt: dropping out of college. to say that their parents were upset would be an understatement. lena's mom probably would've killed them if her father hadn't held her back.
but darrion and dwayne had gotten the sudden epiphany that leading lives in law enforcement and social work just wouldn't cut it. they decided that they would pursue careers in entertainment as comedians and be the next wayans brothers. (and believe me, this didn't go over their mother too well.) lena had thought of the idea as bold and rash, but she still admired her brothers for it and secretly hoped that they did well in the entertainment business. their parents often encouraged their kids to get good jobs in medicine, business and the likes, so this was something entirely new to lena. but it got the gears in her mind working. when she got into college, she went in with an undecided major but took classes in all fields to get an idea of what she wanted to do. one of those classes were in acting.
she immediately fell in love with it, but it never dawned on her that she should actually give it a try. she was so used to the practical ideas of what a career should be, and she was too timid to dive off the deep-end into something so different. but then she began to hear about darrion and dwayne on the radio and tv and they were starting to attract attention from the media. by the time she was in her junior year of college, they had become well-known comedians in hollywood and had even appeared on sitcoms and gotten a few movie roles. the twins encouraged charlene to pursue acting if she really loved it, and though the idea sounded pleasing to her she was still too scared to try it. they gave her time to decide, but they made her promise that she would come back to them if she ever decided to give it a try.
it was two years after she graduated from college before she decided that she wanted to give her dreams a chance. of course darrion and dwayne were enthused about this and jumped at the chance to help their little sister out. but it was still hard since she'd had no previous experience apart from college. still they managed to get her set up in new york and helped her find a few small agents to work with. she's been lucky enough to appear in movies and snag a few roles here and there, but the name "simone ward" is still among the last to appear in the credits. now lena's just waiting for the big break that'll send her rocketing up to the top.

roleplay sample. The alarm went off at exactly eight o' clock a.m. A low groan rumbled beneath Rome's pillow and his hand clumsily searched for the clock until it found the snooze button and gave it a hard whack. He didn't have to be up so early since it was only Sunday, so he had no classes. Correction. He did have to be up early, but it wasn't for class. It was strictly upon his girlfriend's orders. She and Rome, though mostly her, had planned to meet up for Sunday breakfast, a tradition she loved to honor. Sometimes it would just be the two of them, and others they would gather with the rest of their senate buddies and all go out for a group brunch. But today it would be just the two of them. Oh and of course her best friend, Sabrina Salwart. Roman sighed heavily from under his pillow. Having to get up this early on a Sunday to go to breakfast was bad enough, but having to deal with Sabrina Salwart this early was more than he was willing to handle at that moment. Sometimes he wondered how the lovely Ms. Monroe and the rebellious Ms. Salwart even met. They just seemed like such an unlikely pair. 'Suck it up Rome. All you gotta do is let them talk and have their girl moment, and you just sit there eating your pancakes like a good boy.' Sometimes he just felt so used.
With another sigh, Roman pulled his head from underneath his pillow and squinted at the bed across the room. Judging by the lump in the sheets, the steady rising and falling of the covers, and the loud snoring, his roommate was still sleeping. Lucky bastard. Roman yawned, shook his messy bedhead and rolled out of bed. After taking a shower, he pulled on the clothes he'd picked out for his outing: black slacks, black dress shoes, and a plain white shirt with a black vest pulled over it. Nice and classy, yet simple and casual. There was no way the girls could find any fault with his choice of clothing. He raked his fingers through his hair then smoothed it down with his hands. Throw on a nice silver necklace and his silver Rolex and bam, he was ready to go. And still with thirty minutes to spare since he didn't have to be there until nine. So, to pass the time, he checked in on his ball python. Rome gently lifted the snake from its tank and draped its body around his shoulders, with his hands still holding the snake's head and tail. "Hey Sam. Still looking beautiful girl," he cooed, using a soft voice so he wouldn't wake his roommate. He held Samantha for a few more minutes before he finally returned her to her tank. It was now 8:40. May as well leave out now.
Roman grabbed his keys and his Blackberry before leaving the dorm and quietly closing the door behind him. He walked to the parking lot, found his black Dodge Charger and hopped in. He revved up the engine then headed off to the Beverly Hills Hotel. He drove inside the gates and pulled in front of the valet. Rome tossed the guy his keys and walked around the hotel's main entrance to a private walkway on the side, which led directly to the Polo Lounge. As he neared the patio, he could see that almost all of the elegant white-clothed tables were full. Soft jazz music floated from inside and hovered in the outside air. It was a beautiful day, he wasn't much in the mood for sitting outside. Besides, they'd already reserved a table inside. Sure it may have seemed odd that even though they hadn't stayed in the hotel, the three of them would be dining in one of its main restaurants. But that was the benefit of being senate and having a crapload of money. Okay and maybe the fact that his stepfather worked there helped too, but of course Rome would never admit that. He felt low enough having to rely on his stepfather's position to gain benefits, and admitting it aloud would only add salt to Rome's injured pride.
He stepped onto the patio and crossed through the rows of tables to enter the Polo Lounge from its sliding door. When he stepped inside, he was instantly greeted by upbeat jazz music, the savory smells of breakfast, and a smiling waiter who greeted him by name. Well last name at least. It was only professional to stay formal and stick to 'Mr. Love', as weird as that may have sounded to Roman. The waiter escorted him to an empty table and, with a friendly smile, left. Rome pulled out his phone to check the time. Only five minutes before nine and he was still the first one there. If he was lucky, the girls would be there at least by nine thirty. Rome sat up in his chair and calmly scanned the room, looking for any sign of his female accomplices. Boy was he looking forward to this conversation. Too bad it was still too early to distract himself with alcohol. But hey, if it meant seeing his girl then it was all worth it. At least he hoped.
