It was a glorious evening in New York City. Alright, it was a little chilly and it had been raining. But it didn't take away the joyful spirit. It was St Patrick's Day and today, plenty of people were out tonight enjoying the holiday! Hence the "Kiss Me, I'm Irish Today" shirt that Chelsea was wearing tonight, tucked into a black high waist pinafore-like skirt which had straps over her shoulders - she felt like she had to. Her daddy would be having a good time tonight in his bar with his loyal customers and friends: St Patrick's Day was the day that everyone was Irish on! There was no Irish in her that she knew of and if there was, it would be through her father's side of the family, who were Scottish. She supposed that if you were of the Catholic faith, then you had as much right to celebrate the saint as the Irish did because he was their patron saint. But she was not religious though her family would be labelled Catholic. Distant Catholics.
She was more like an agnostic atheist. Didn't deny anything or anyone of a higher power existed, but couldn't say she was a follower of a faith. Liked the idea of it though. But St Paddy's for Chelsea? WAS ALL ABOUT THE BOOZE. Well, that was the second reason that Chelsea was in NY. It was just as easy and fun to go out for the night in Los Angeles. The first reason was to see her buddies, as she knew quite a few people in NY (and surrounding states) some of them being Jules, Jasper and Elias. She would be coming back to New York again when Kate was going too, that way all the girls (Kate, Jules, Kat and Chelsea) could be together for once. Usually they spoke online because they either lived apart or were working in different locations. The downside of being an actress, you often went away to film in different parts of the country - or to an entirely different country altogether! As a make-up artist and hair stylist, she generally stayed put.
But as the cast and crew of the show she worked on had this week off, she seized the opportunity and got herself a plane ticket. And arrived in the early hours of the morning of this day! She just napped earlier and was wide awake and full of energy. They were all going out. Nothing major or glitzy, I mean the girl had a tee shirt on! Just going to bars and clubs, whatever really. She had a small bag on a long chain across her body and a pair of plain black heels. Because of the Irish festivities she wore a green velvet top hat (and would proceed to tip it at people while saying “top o' the evening to ya!” in an Irish accent) and a pair of satin gloves with a bow on. Just because she should. Her hair was pinned up in a quiff inside the hat and a long chain hung down over her breasts, with a black cross on the end. The girls, Chelsea and Jules, had started their evening in a local bar but moved on to another, the one they were currently in now. It was full of plenty of other people in various shades of green.
And actual Irish people! It was an Irish bar, and the traditional music was bellowing loudly, but it wasn't annoying. It was making everyone want to dance with it's bodhrán drums, penny whistles, flutes, fiddles, pipes, spoons and more! She enjoyed it, it reminded her of the traditional Scottish music, though that sometimes seemed more fierce and brutal whereas Irish music was much more whimsical and free-spirited. Everyone was in a really good mood. Strangers were coming together and having a laugh, enjoying the day. And that including her as her tee shirt invited plenty of strangers to give her a cheeky kiss, be it to her cheek or a peck on the lips. "Two beers!" Chels shouted over the music because the speaker was right by the bar as she ordered drinks. She had them in hand, drawn out in pint glasses rather than bottles: just the way she liked it, with the froth of top. Made the girl eager for a Guinness moustache! "Here you are, babe." she said affectionately to her petite buddy Jules.
She had one sole purpose tonight and one only. Get Jules and herself completely, totally and utterly smashed!
