IT'S NOT EASY MAKING A NAME FOR YOURSELF,
where do you draw the line?
I NEVER THOUGHT I'D BE IN THIS FAR - - - *
[/size]SO, MAYBE THE PARK WASN'T THE FIRST PLACE you'd expect to find a guy like jasper. he was always known for more.. "gritty" settings. pfft, as if new york city wasn't a gritty enough place to be in the first place. but there was always a place you'd expect to find a guy like jasper in. presumably a place filled with "bad characters". he was never the prom king or the jock type; not even in high school. hell, the only reason why he attended prom in high school was for the fact that he spiked the punch. oh, how stupid they were to think that he wouldn't be the one to bring along the alcohol. naturally, it resulted in a few weeks's suspension, but it was senior year. what kind of effect would it have on him? none, that's what. but anyway, high school was over. they were living in a new era, baby. one where detention was the equivalent of jail and the slutty girls that tried to get with you in gym class were now the gold digging whores that tried to marry you for your money. well, what many you had, anyway. the world was a funny place, and as much as it changed, it barely changed at all. for example, jasper getting into fights at school was now jasper getting into fights in bars. jasper having sex with those girls in high school was now jasper having sex with his film teacher in film school. it really was a strange world.
such thoughts of the past and the present ran through the twenty-five year old's head as he sat on the wooden green-painted bench. a cigarette rested between his tattooed fingers: a Marlboro Red, unmistakeably. smoke rose from it's burning end as his darkened eyes wandered about, taking in the sights that surrounded him. he didn't plan on going to the park today as a matter of fact, jasper never really planned anything. he just sort of wandered and let his feet guide him where ever he was meant to be. "go with the flow", right? now, the park wasn't necessarily his first choice. if anything, he would've just called someone up and demanded that they go somewhere. but elias was out and he didn't really feel like making any calls out to anyone. oh, and a good portion of his friends were out on the west coast. times like these made him miss the californian sun and made him want to get on the first plane back. but for the moment, he and his best friend were residing in new york city while they worked. after all, the cast of The Marriage Plan needed someone to scream at them, and that was just his job.
it seemed like other people were questioning why he was at the park as well. posh people strolled past him, chatting delightfully until they stumbled upon him. their eyes looked away from the path in front of them to gaze at him, looking him up and down. so, maybe he had more tattoos than a mother could bear her child to have. maybe the cigarette smoke between his fingers could contribute to some sort of second hand smoke or whatever the fuck was going through their heads. so what? a simple sneer from jasper or him immediately thrusting up his favorite finger at them was enough to make them look away from him. he rolled his eyes as he raised his the cigarette to his lips again. the end burned a slight orange as he sucked inward, holding the smoke of the cigarette in his lungs. lowering it once more, he looked out at the pond that laid before him. it had been the first time this week that the sun bothered to make even the slightest of appearances, since it was captured mostly by the rain and clouds that pursued. but the clouds didn't bother him, so he wasn't about to let such a day pass him by. instead, he exhaled the smoke and continued to gaze outward, as if he were looking for something and nothing at the same time.
open.
