everybody is someone else's secret
I'LL DO MY BEST TO HIDE IT IF YOU PROMISE TO KEEP IT
[/blockquote][/blockquote]Vince wasn't sure why, but his leg was bouncing underneath the table, almost like he was nervous or something. He knew no such emotion, so of course he was a little confused as to what exactly it was he happened to be feeling. Anxiety was more of the word, simply because he didn't know what the hell was going to happen today. He was meeting an old client/hookup for lunch in a place the paparazzi could swarm like bees. They'd gobbled it up a couple years back when Vince quit working for her because they hooked up. It was typical for him. Well, not the quitting a job mid-contract deal, but definitely wasn't out of character for him to leave once things started getting serious. He wasn't sure why he just left though. He usually ended up getting so mean that the girls left him. Once he figured out he was even a little attached to a girl, he started being a complete asshole to compensate. Often times, he thought he did it just to make them leave so it wasn't exactly on him. But this time it was, and now she was meeting him here for lunch. Shit, what did he get himself into?
The worst part was, he'd only really talked to her once and he was already acting out of the ordinary. He really didn't enjoy the mess he'd gotten himself into right now. It was only about one in the afternoon, but he was swirling what was left of a Jack and coke in a glass that had been sitting on the table. He needed a little liquid courage right about now. He would gladly take out a guy twice his size, which was considerable because Vince was by no means a small man, but when it came to shit like this, where it wasn't a casual shag and bag... he was awful. He was even trying to repress the instinct to be a douche bag to her, which was interesting enough. Why he'd agreed to meet her here? Made no sense whatsoever. But he was beginning to accept that some things in life, made no sense and never would. This was one of them.
He pulled out his phone and scrolled through old text messages, making sure his assignment was still at some set doing an interview, where she was supposed to be. He was growing on the idea of being responsible for a person again, but he was also wondering what the hell to do with it. He hadn't taken a bodyguard job since Cali, and he knew well how that one ended. He considered himself lucky he hadn't been charged with rape, considering she was so much younger than he was. He sighed, trying to put the past behind him and calm the fuck down.
He had already taken the liberty of ordering a wine for her, dry and red, just how she liked it. He wasn't sure what she was eating.. or if she was eating these days, so he left that up to her to do. Deep down, though, he was excited to see her. She was hot after all, despite the huge age gap between them. Her body was so young and fresh, real.. everything about it was a turn on. Her personality was also something to be cherished as well. Working with her, making sure she wasn't snatched off the streets, they grew to be quite close even before they had sex, so he knew just about everything about her. He pocketed his phone, not wanting to seem bored when she showed up. He nearly cursed his aunt and uncle for teaching him manners and morals only learned by a true southern gentleman anymore. These days, all the guys were complete assholes and he couldn't say he didn't participate in the trend most of the time. But hey, he had a new trend to follow as of late, and that trend was breaking his current habits that he was, for a long time, happy with. He needed his life moving in a different direction, and maybe this was it.
