The sun was slowly setting against the backdrop of what was supposed to be winter. Yet out in sunny California, it felt like anything but. That wasn't to say that it hadn't been chillier than normal this time of year. In fact, for most of winter, it had been downright unpleasant. Either it was raining constantly, or in those rare instances, it had actually snowed! Perhaps the world was actually coming to some sort of end. The scene looked like something out of one of those doomsday movies. It was slightly unsettling.
The day hadn't been one of any importance for the lovely Eden Vespera, yet she had been on a mission from the early outbreak of morning several hours ago. She was determined to find inspiration for her next writing project. She was going to prove to the critics that not only could she produce a serious motion-picture, but surround herself with the talent to make it happen. Of course, that was easier said than done and eventually, Eden would resign herself to the fact that there were far too many people in Los Angeles for her to get anything done the way she envisioned it.
With her writing pad and a pen in tow, Eden ventured out into the city, with no real plan on where she wanted to go. She usually got her best ideas when she wasn't trying to get any. That meant, letting her feet do the thinking. After leaving her apartment complex, Eden scribbled a few things down, smiling to herself. She still felt out of place in this city, even though she had lived here for more than five years. Her accent still got her looks and she never did much partying. That wasn't to say she didn't like to have a good time. On the contrary, she just didn't like who she was supposed to have a good time with.
It had taken her the better part of thirty minutes to magically wind up at the beach. For a minute, she wondered where she was. Had she taken the bus? Bummed a ride? There was no way she could have walked this far without some form of transportation. The beach was fairly crowded, as she expected, and she stood there not appropriately dressed at all. Then again, when was she ever dressed properly for anything?
Eden sat down on the sand and stretched her short legs. She pouted momentarily, trying to look for some sort of inspiration. It didn't come easily and after a minute or two, she resigned herself to the fact that trying to get anything out of this situation was fairly useless. Biting her lip, Eden took to writing once again, getting frustrated. "Dammit!" She said outloud to no one in particular. A couple of people looked her way, but most ignored her. If she had been an A-lister, they wouldn't have passed her by. She just sighed with annoyance. It could have been a lot worse she figured.
