Relaxing Day Off //Open

Jeremy needed time to relax so he decided to head to the beach. Jeremy made it to the beach and settle himself on the sand which out looked the ocean. The sand was dry, he didn't move around too much, it was because he didn't want to get sand into his shorts. It would be a mess and he didn't want to deal with all the sand when he got home later on today. He hope the sand would stay where it was at, which was on the ground.

Jeremy didn't know too many people his age. It was hard for him he didn't want to seem old for woman he decided to date. There wasn't anyone for him to date right now. The ones he knew they were younger then he was,way younger to be exact. He was older enough to be their father.

He knew a few of woman would be nice, but high maintenance. Then there are the low maintenance, but like being in the limelight. It was exactly where he didn't want to be at this time. He wanted a woman who could fit into his life without making a big fuss. His thought fell on the young woman who played Natasha Romanoff in The Avengers. He had played Hawkeye. Jeremy had to admit there was something between them, but he wasn't going to admit it out loud. He wondered what she was up to, he would call her later when he got home.

There wasn't to much he could do about his love life right now. If he did it would end up with him losing focus on what task which he was assigned to focus on at that time.

The beach was the perfect place to relax and figure what his next move was. It wasn't like he was getting any younger. He did in fact want children, but first he had to find himself a young woman who would share his life with. He wasn't going to push anyone to do anything they didn't want to do. He looked out into the ocean the waves and the sound they made had a calming effect on him.

There really was no need for Devon to be wearing a bathing suit. It wasn't like she was going to get in the water anyway. She seldom did when she went to the beach. Dev was one of those girls who sat on the sand underneath her umbrella on her pretty little beach towel while she watched the other beachgoers splash around in the water. She could easily be mistaken as someone who was stuck up or trying to show off, but in truth she just didn't see the point in ruining her hair and makeup. Devon believed in the philosophy that you always had to look good no matter what even if you were just running to the grocery store. You never knew who was watching or when your picture would be snapped, and the paparazzi were a sneaky and warped group of people. Somehow in their underdeveloped minds they would find it delightful to snap a shot of a fashion mogul when she looked like she could be Oscar the Grouch's garbage can neighbor. Devon felt that it was critical for her to be a fashion role model and lead by example. After all her clothes were featured on catwalks, in catalogs and boutiques. Young women everywhere gobbled up her advice and they shopped her stores because they wanted to look like her. That was basically the framework of the consumer mind. People purchased from their favorite designers because they wanted to imitate their style and look like them, even if they didn't consciously realize it. Quite naturally Devon took it upon herself to shed light on the Ugly Betty's of the world and pull them out of the dark ages of their clear-bra-strap, tye-dye-shirt wearing days. It was a tough job and some cases were more challenging than others, but it needed to be done. There were people on the beach, for instance, who could use some points of guidance. Like the women who wore the string thin bikinis that barely covered their chest or the ones who wore only baggy capris and shirts but jumped into the water anyway. And who the hell decided to use lace in swimwear? People were just sickening. With a small sigh of boredom, Devon gingerly laid her issue of Vogue on her colorful towel and pushed herself to her feet. Despite having a bathing suit on, she was still wearing the blue summery dress that was covering it. She removed her blue floppy hat and set it down beside her wedges and beach bag then trekked through the sand as she made her way a little closer to the water. While she didn't plan on going for a swim, one thing she did enjoy was collecting seashells along the shore. They were beautiful little gems of nature that came in an assortment of colors and sizes. She enjoyed making little bracelets or necklaces out of them or even sewing them onto handbags for cute designs. Tacky, sure, but every girl had her quirks. Devon continued to walk down the beach, stooped over and collecting her shells. She'd pulled up the hem of her dress, though not enough to show much of anything, to form a makeshift basket she could place her shells in. And then, lo and behold, her eyes fell on a conch shell with pink hues. These were her favorite since you could hear the ocean tides when you held one up to your ear. The young stylist made to pick it up when she noticed a man standing just feet away from it. Devon hesitated. Would it be rude to walk up just to grab the shell and then turn away? Did he technically have first dibs on the shell since it was right there by his feet even though he didn't seem interested? Or maybe he just didn't notice it? Shit. Why did she have to be placed in these situations? Devon eyed the man and squinted her eyes at him. She recognized him from somewhere. He didn't look the least bit fashionable so that knocked out one possibility. Maybe he was in a movie? Everyone seemed to be a star in Los Angeles these days. Devon cleared her throat awkwardly and looked from the man to the shell and back. Maybe she should just grab it and run. He seemed like he was deep in thought anyway and didn't want to be bothered. Unfortunately she knew that wouldn't be very ladylike. So instead she peered at him through her sunglasses, smiled sweetly and -with a small expectant lift of her eyebrows- waited for him to say something.

Jeremy was wondering about his life. He was a well know actor. It was good to be known; sometime it was not so good. Paparazzi were one of the things, which he did not like. They tried to get into his life; there wasn't anything he really could do about it.

Now he was enjoying himself. He did notice the young woman who was near by. He glanced over to see she was trying to decide something. He was not going to stay anything to her. He was not going to be rude to her. Jeremy could feel himself relaxing a little more. He had his guard up. You never know when the paparazzi will show up. They always had a way of showing up at the most inappropriate times.

He had his share of being in the limelight. There were a couple of times where the paparazzi caught him with a friend and everything went downhill from there. It was his luck another actor had been caught doing something else and had gotten the paparazzi attention. He really didn’t want to be in the limelight at all. He liked his privacy and he was going to keep it that way. He was going to be good today if the paparazzi left him alone.

Jeremy looked over at the young woman who was near him. He had to admit she did look nice. She looked to be in her early twenty. There was something about her, which Jeremy felt he needed to get to know her. He looked over at her and saw her raised an eyebrow at him. She was waiting for him to say something to her.

He looked over at her. He wasn’t sure exactly what he was going to say to her, so decide to say the easiest thing, which came to mind.
“Excuse me ma’am is there anything you need?” Jeremy asked her.

At last the gentleman was pulled from his pool of thoughts and his hazel eyes were directed towards Devon. She almost felt bad for disturbing him, but the discovery of the conch shell laying on the ground between them was an important issue to her that just couldn't wait. It wasn't very often that one crossed paths with such extraordinary marvels of nature, and Devon hadn't had the fortune of adding one to her collection yet. Well technically she did, but it didn't count when it came from daddy's hands. There was something far more magical and empowering about acquiring something through your own powers rather than having it spoon-fed to you by someone else. Quite ironically that was basically the framework of Devon's life and it was exactly how she'd jump started her career in the first place. But of course these weren't facts that she acknowledged very often, if at all. A faint tint of pink color rose to Devon's cheeks when the stranger addressed her. It was as if he was reading her mind. Shoot! Was she that obvious? Sure, her only motive for approaching him may have simply been to claim the beautiful conch and leave, but he didn't need to know that. She'd been hoping to play it off, maybe engage the man in some pointless small talk then continue on her way. Now at this point any normal person might have professed that they were just collecting seashells, used the opportunity to take the large conch and then go on about their business. Devon's thinking, on the other hand, was far more fantastical than most and sometimes she had a tendency to complicate the simplest things. So whereas she could have admitted that she was there with a purpose, instead the young woman said, "What? Oh! No, of course not!" Now standing there without a plan or the faintest idea of what to say next, Devon could feel her embarrassment mounting. So much for being classy and in control. To keep the situation from getting anymore awkward, at least for her, she continued on. She released the hem of her dress with one hand and loosely gestured to the material which held her findings. "I've just been collecting seashells." As she spoke a few small shells tumbled from the makeshift basket of her dress, which had become lopsided from lack of support. Upon realizing this Devon quickly grabbed the hem with her free hand and held the fabric out so that no more shells would fall to the sandy ground. Although she knew she'd never spoken with or met this man before, Devon was still filled with the certainty that she recognized him from somewhere. But she couldn't place her finger on it. Temporarily forgetting about her beach adventures, Devon squinted her eyes at the stranger to help jog her memory, though the action was hidden behind her dark sunglasses. "I'm sorry, have I seen you somewhere before? You look a little familiar..."
