there were two words that didge could use to describe lollapalooza, and they were 'epically awesome'. it really was. there was no better place to hold a music festival than the windy city of chicago, illnois. actually, there was newport in rhode island for the folk festival but they were mostly upper-class attendees. here at lollapalooza there were more alternative mainstream bands playing. that, and coachella ( which she loved just as much ). this was about her fifth time coming here, and second time playing. actually, her band vintage september had just ended their performance for the festival on one of the smaller stages. of course, there were people there to see them. fans nonethless, while the rest were there to check out new music. bridget hadn't expected a great amount of people like expected for lady gaga or even vampire weekend, but there were enough people. it didn't matter to didge anyway because all she cared about was that their band was able to perform at one of her favourite music festivals in the country.
the performance went down great. she jumped around on stage with a tambourine, played on the keyboard, and even took out the ukulele. nothing out of the ordinary for a vintage september performance, but always fun and never a bore. that's what bridget loved about performing - she could never get sick of it how much she tried. it was exciting, thrilling, and to share music that made people happy was a major aspiration for her. being a band that wasn't a big name, they had been scheduled before midday on the first day - which bridget liked to joke that the organisers wanted to "get them over and done with". it probably wasn't really the case, and didge actually appreciated it because it meant she could go off into the crowd for the rest of the lollapalooza days and watch the other bands and do what lollapaloozers usually did. also, their stage was close to the kidzapalooza stage so she could admire the cute little kids running around while getting to know real music. they looked epically cute too - with their fake tattoos and coloured hair. if she had a kid that she brought to lollapalooza, she would have had a very hard time deciding on whether to see other bands or stay with her kid. she figured it wouldn't be that bad to see alternative kiddie bands so she could live with staying at kidzapalooza for the whole day. then again, if jay were to be there she'd leave the kid with him.
once she and jay had finished signing autographs at the f.y.e booth, she sneaked right off into the lollapalooza crowd to experience the festival like she usually would. her two sisters here as well, but off listening to other bands with their own friends. as for bridget, well, she had jay, but he was busy doing his own thing with the boys that played in their band. not that bridget minded. truth be told, she actually liked going around by herself. plus she and jay had been spending too much time together - only having come back from shows around canada. then after this festival, they were off again to tennessee and few other southern states before finishing their tour at the hollywood bowl back home in california. then after that, bridge knew she had to start writing the score for slayer by night, and possibly avoid that stuntman spencer who randomly kissed her when she visited the set back in toronto last month. that night the band came face to face with ten chocolate cakes that bridget had baked because that incident had somewhat upset her.
she looked down at her printed out line up schedule and the official map in her other hand. to be honest, the bands playing this year weren't as exciting as she had anticipated. what was worse was that lady gaga was headlining and she hated gaga. perhaps she could check out the ting tings or nine inch nails or wolfmother who were playing very soon. but she wasn't really sure. the ting tings. there, she settled on that decision. although they weren't playing for a while but bridget thought she could hang around the closest lolla lounge and lounge around until then. so she started walking with sunglasses on and the vintage summer dress she wore during her performance. sure, it gathered a little attention from a few fans in the crowd who asked for photos, but she finally escaped when she arrived at the lolla lounge gate and showed off her v.i.p wrist band to the security guard who gingerly let her in.
walking over to the bar, she considered ordering an alcoholic beverage, but when she stood at the counter, she settled on lemonade instead. after obtaining the drink she turned around and scanned the area for an extra patch of green grass facing the stage. and alas, she had found the perfect spot under a tree, which she headed towards and sat down with her drink in hand. she sat cross-legged like a second grader and brushed down any dirt from the skirt of her dress before placing her small bag right beside her. taking off her sunglasses, she placed them on her head and took a sip of her lemonade, taking in the view.oh hai. this thread here is tagged for no one, is currently completed, and the word count is a lot. i'm gonna take credit for the image & template, and the lyrics go to she & him. lastly i have to say, i had a burst of bridget!muse hence the lengthy reply!
