The cold breeze bit at his bare calves. He spent ten minutes on stretches to warm his body up, paying no mind to the winter air. It was freezing but he knew it would take little to no time for his body to start pumping blood and get him warm again. He zipped his hoody as he began to jog lightly on the spot before taking off in no particular direction around Los Angeles Park. It was quite early and not many people were around, just how he preferred. Having to swerve countless times for dog walkers and pedestrians was beyond irritating for the man. He hadn’t been jogging in a while but in recent light, he needed a method of stress release. A means to clear his head and relax; he had always been a sportsman ever since he could pitch a ball and he had managed to stay in shape despite being past his prime. Jogging at a leisurely pace he was not straining himself but was pushing just enough for it to do something.
A stream of pointless and irrelevant thoughts streamed through his mind for the first few minutes. For one, he hoped that the woman he had brought home the night before was gone by the time he returned. He had met her in a Teddy’s the lounge he now frequented in the Roosevelt, she was mildly intoxicated and already aroused. Half the work done and without the effort, she ticked all the boxes. It was all about the easy pickings for Richard nowadays, he didn’t miss a beat after Bianca and he had ended things. Or rather her slapping him and telling him they were over, all on her birthday. It was a good thing he hadn’t bothered with a present. What a waste that would have been. But he had to admit it was fun whilst it had lasted. She was undeniably sexy and easy at that, he couldn’t have asked for a more perfect woman. Aside from her clinginess everything was almost perfect. She proved to be more than just a bed warmer when in those rare moments they would talk. It would be a lie to say he hadn’t missed her even the slightest.
Filming for Justice League still carried on but Rick had not been as hands on as he had promised. He was partly humiliated at her outburst but at the same time he wanted to show her just what she was doing. That there was no going back or running back to him; that she was nothing but another notch on his belt. He made no attempts to win her back; he obliged to her wishes and never contacted her. How she was doing was a mystery to him, he had kept to his word other than the occasional tabloid article on her. He wondered if she had moved on. He doubted it; there was no way she could get over him so easily. By now his heart was pumping steadily and he had increased his pace, working up a sweat. He unzipped his hoody mid-jog, feeling hot and uncomfortable. He sprinted the few kilometres ahead before slowing down altogether in front of bench where he soon discarded his hoody. His breathing was shallow as he did some light stretches to prevent his muscles from aching.
He paused mid-turn in the process of retrieving his hoody. There stood the woman who had occupied most of his thoughts only moments. It had been a few months since they had last seen each other so he took this moment to truly take her in and only know did he realise just how much he had wanted her over those past months. ”Bianca” he greeted her, his lips curling into a devilish smile ”It’s been a while” he spoke closing the distance between them.
