IT'S A NEW DAY, IT'S A NEW LIFE &
I'M FEELING GOOD
I'M FEELING GOOD
It had become more than a habit for Delilah to end up in New York. It was her solace, a home away from home especially when everything in her home felt stale. She felt like a stranger in her own town, only ambling instead of striding. She lacked the vigour that was her old self and that vigour seemed to only return in New York. She felt like a completely new person, energised and purposeful. Perhaps it was due to the plan that had hatched and formulated over the past months or another reason all together, but her bet was not on the latter. Friends came and went and this proved to occupy her time best instead of throwing herself a wonderfully alcoholic fuelled pity party. That and getting to know the little boy made spending time with Siana almost bearable for Delilah. But he wasn’t always there and being alone with the woman was a true test of strength for her.
But the Christmas spirit was high and all she had to do was wait it out, just wait until the right moment, even if that meant a few more months of iced tea and phone calls. Currently, Delilah was staying at hotel; it was what she always did when visiting the big apple. But the more and more times she visited the place the more she thought she should just buy a place and get it over with. She was here often enough and it would mean less money being forked out for hotels and she would be staying somewhere that wasn’t constantly raided by housekeepers. A person snooping in her room was not something that settled well with her. The pros outweighed the cons many times but there was the fact that she wasn’t an extravagant spender and wouldn’t feel right about owning two homes when some people had none. The only viable option was to sell her house in Los Angeles and move to New York permanently. But that was a decision that needed more mulling over.
Her plan was in full effect, a strange new friendship had formed between herself and Siana. Something neither Siana nor Samson could believe, but she had managed to convince them both that her intentions were good and she was only repenting her sins. There she was months down the line with a large elaborately wrapped present for the little boy and a smaller present on top for Siana. She would be spending Christmas at home with her family and thought it fitting that since she was in town he might as well deliver their presents in person. She had called ahead and said she was stopping by for a little catch up but had given no hint to the presents cradled in her arms. Balancing the gifts on the palm of her left hand, she knocked a few times before resting them on both hands once more.
