Mexico was... nice. If anything, Andrea was heavily reminded of the days before her fame. That had been her father's intention, so she considered their ploy a major success. Her mind was sorting out all of the junk in her head a little more day by day. Isolation in the shack her father bought her wasn't necessarily ideal, but compared to the alternative options, she was sure he had done as best as he could. It was her personal rehabilitation center minus the intimidating security guards. The extent of Andrea's visitors ended with the cat unless the maintenance worker that showed up once a week counted. Andrea didn't think so. Every time she tried to strike up a conversation with the timid woman, she was usually shot down or ignored. Drea always assumed she'd turned sour because of something she'd done wrong. Even though her attitude didn't improve when Andrea made an effort to tidy up the place more often, she decided to keep on doing so. Common courtesy was one of the few values Drea had kept during her Hollywood escapade. It was a relief to know she still had it in her.
Today was a particularly special day. Her father was supposed to stop by and stay the night. The drive down to her Mexican retreat took hours upon hours, so his effort was never left unacknowledged. Nobody else knew where she'd taken off to apart from Anna. That was part of her pact with Richard. That was a part of her healing process. She hoped he'd take her out to dinner for a change. All of her meals were either delivered by the maid or cooked on her own. Burritos made up most of her food pyramid alongside tortilla chips and salsa. "Luxury" foods like oreos and marshmallows were hard to come by, so she also pined for a bag or two of those. Richard normally came through with her requests. Money was easy to come by since she gifted him her salary from the movies she completed filming for. Movie producers were incredibly generous when it came to a job well done. Andrea just so happened to meet their expectations.
Truthfully, there was a piece of Andrea that missed acting. Three months away from filming made her realize how much she enjoyed acting in the first place. Ultimately, now wasn't the time to delve into her nostalgia. Her father was bound to be pulling up any minute. Any off-beat comment was sure to set him on edge; honestly, Drea didn't understand how he always knew when she was feeling restless. It was a gift she hadn't a clue how to comprehend. Taking a deep breath and averting her thoughts to her father's upcoming visit, she was able to banish Hollywood from her mind. For now. Zelda's soothing purr filled the silence in her bedroom while she watched the window intently. The clock droned on and on. Even Zelda eventually grew tiresome of being pet. Drea's light eyelids gained weight with each passing minute. Finally, the rattly noise of gravel snatched her attention. He was here! Andrea bounced to her feet and headed straight to the door. Any sign of human contact kickstarted her enthusiasm no matter what mood she found herself in, today especially. "Hey!" she beamed, a cheeky grin filling her face. "I almost thought you forgot about me!" she teased.
