Photoshoots were rumored to spread publicity. Cody could understand that argument. Cody, although he often gave it his best shot, was unable to ignore the shining grins of celebrities on magazine wracks. Seeing his own face on those wracks were the most surreal of all. June knew how he felt about flaunting his body about the media, so she decided to schedule something out of the norm. Honestly, Cody had no idea what he was getting himself into. All he had was an address to drive to at nine in the morning. Confusion was the most obvious emotion passing through his mind when he realized where the address led. This was a neighborhood where people lived. What the hell had June signed him up for? Had he come to the wrong address? There was only one way to find out.
Cody parked his R4 across the street and headed straight towards the front door. The street was lined with other vehicles, but most neighborhoods had unoccupied cars parked off the curb. It didn't matter that one of them was a Ferrari. He was in a neighborhood for a photoshoot. With any luck, he'd most likely be staging a "family man" appeal. That was one image he wasn't opposed to. After all, family did mean a great deal to him, and he was pining for the chance to settle down. Almost a year ago on the dot, Tony was terrified of settling down so young. Acting was a demanding business, and taking care of a family wasn't a part-time gig. He gradually realized that there was more than enough time in the world for both if he managed to keep on top of them. Multitasking was one of his strong suits. Who said building a life couldn't be formulated with the same principles?
Much to Cody's dismay, the photoshoot had been nothing like his predictions called for. The landowner directed him not to the kitchen but the backyard. Only there did Cody understand what was expected of him. Cages of animals occupied the entire backyard. Snakes, rabbits, big cats, hedgehogs... This guy had hundreds of creatures. All in his backyard. Cody actually had to double-take when he first walked through the back gate. The first thought that passed through his mind deemed whatever business the landowner had going on illegal. Was that a lynx? Regardless of how abstract the idea was, Cody was intrigued. He'd taken photographs with animals before, so he wasn't entirely unexposed to the concept. His stylist quickly whisked him away to a makeshift dressing room. A maroon suit and blue undershirt were set out for him. That was strange, he thought. Animals and suits. His kudos went out to June for finding him a new concept.
Cody readjusted the collar of his suit before reemerging from the dressing room. His stylist was front and center to critique her work. The process of finding the picture-perfect get-up was a lengthy one. Cody was presently surprised when she let him off the hook with no changes. Honestly, he wouldn't count on that happening once again in a blue moon. Next up was hair styling. He'd recently went in for a trim, so there wasn't much anyone could do to style it more than he already had. Then again, the industry never failed to surprise him. People went to school specifically to learn how to do crazy things with hair. Underestimating them was unwise. Henceforth, Cody entered the house with an open mind. Israel was bustling around her makeshift station, obviously ready for his tardy self. "Hey, you," he greeted warmly. "No one told me you'd be working today. I guess they didn't want to ruin the surprise." He smiled, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Where do you want me?"
