Tiff’s dreams consist of writing blockbuster movies, bestselling books, and inspiring plays. Right now, she’s focused on building her reputation as a member of the industry. Working at a theater in New York City occupies most of her time, but she spends every waking moment outside of the theater developing her own original ideas. Tiffany has been in overdrive since she was sixteen, nearly ten years’ worth of dedication to what she loves—writing. High school taught her nothing about punctuality. If she was late for class, she was sent to the student relations office. College came with a slap in the face. If she tried to arrive late for a class without a valid excuse, her professors would deny her a lesson. “If you’re not going to take my class seriously and arrive on time, I have no interest in bestowing you with a lesson I arrived on time to teach,” they often said. Nowadays, if Tiffany isn’t early, then she is right on the dot. She doesn’t like to keep people waiting. Tiffany went to college for six years. Beforehand, she completed thirteen years of school from preschool up until twelfth grade. She has quite a bit of knowledge up her sleeves, including but not limited to, a fair amount of English. She was an English major at Princeton University. She minored in business in case she cared to move in a business-concerned field. Tiff doesn’t go around running her mouth. Everything she says has a purpose for being said no matter what. She has realistic dreams. She acts how a woman her age should act. Tiffany has goals that are appropriate to her backstory. Realism is an important aspect to Tiffany’s life because she’s felt like everything around her has been some bad dream since her brother’s demise. As much as Tiffany adores shopping—and shoes—she knows just how much she can set aside for personal enjoyment. Bills come first. Tiffany hates beating around the bush. She can lay back from time to time, but more often, she’s a slave driver. The sooner she completes tasks she isn’t looking forward to the faster she can do something she enjoys. Business with her is simple. Her terms are usually outlined, so a deal is one quick banter away from being made. The shorter she is, the more she means business about what she’s advocating for. Luckily, Tiff speaks in a way that people can comprehend. She’s concise. WEAKNESSES One giant wall surrounds her heart. She rarely allows anyone to gain access after the incident with her brother. Years of blaming herself for what happened to him has hardened her heart. People pity her because they don’t know the truth. That absolutely kills her because she doesn’t believe she should be cared for after what she condemned her brother to. In order to avoid becoming close with anyone, she treats strangers with bitterness until its evident they won’t back down until she befriends them. That’s why she’s so reserved. Tiffany doesn’t want anyone to take the time to get to know her. She’d love to learn more about the lives other people have led. Truly, she would. She just can’t. Her conversations are very vague and impersonal. She’ll talk about why the sky is blue, but she’d never say that her favorite color was blue. That’s too personal for her tastes. With that in mind, asking her about what happened to her brother would be instant death. No pun intended. Her wall might make her look insecure. People pass her off as shy when that’s not necessarily the case. Others pass her as preppy, too good to talk to anyone else. Both are correct to an extent. Really, she’s just insecure. The truth about her brother was completely known by one other person—Hayden. Others back in Chantilly have their speculations, just nothing to prove them. She’s afraid people would dislike her if she revealed what really happened that night. She wondered if people would judge her because she’d been the one to dare Neal to walk the roof that night. Her extreme fear of heights stemmed from that night, too. She doesn’t like being anything other than firmly on the Earth’s floor. In hotels, she requests first-floor rooms. She refuses to use the catwalk at the theater she works for. Airplanes freak her out. Don’t even think of suggesting sky-diving anytime soon. She won’t do it. Anytime she sees any span of vertical distance, the falling face of her brother flashes through her mind. That night. Her brother. Heights. All of these phrases have reoccurred in Tiff’s traits for a reason. That night has severely haunted her life. Everything she has done for the past ten years has been based off of that night and the person she lost. Neal wanted to be an actor. Tiffany promised him she’d write his blockbuster movies. They had a dream together, and Tiffany has lived her life trying to fulfill their goals. She constantly has nightmares about her brother dying. His memory jumps her at the most inconvenient moments. She has no one to discuss her fears with because no one knows the truth about her catastrophe. SKILLS Tiffany’s main skill is her ability to write. She’s poured her heart and soul into the skill. She acted during high school in one play as an understudy, though she didn’t like it half as much as she did writing. She’s also an avid reader, so she’s constantly pulling plot ideas and making them her own. Other than that, Tiffany is great at defending herself as well as the ones she loves. She’s not proud of her ability to lie, but she’s also one convincing cookie when it comes to that. Fashion is also a secret passion. EXPERIENCE Tiffany has always had an intense love for writing. When she was younger, starting around second grade, she began writing short stories. True, the stories weren’t always the best pieces she’d created, but they were a start. As she grew older, her work improved, and in fifth grade her first published piece was a poem from a poetry convention her teacher took her to. She was the student who the teacher always asked to keep work as a future example. She’d always willingly cough up her work, too. In high school, she invested her time in the yearbook, newspaper, and also drama. She enjoyed finding scripts for the director when she wasn’t having a difficult time selecting a piece. Her work with the scripts made her realize her aspirations to become a screenwriter. Her brother’s constant spiels about making it as an a-list actor also took its toll on her. She, her brother, and his good friend, Hayden, all had a plan. Once high school was over, they’d attend whichever college they chose before embarking on their journey to stardom. Two out of the three are struggling to make that dream a reality. Neal, Tiffany’s brother, could not. When Tiffany was sixteen and a sophomore in high school, she, Hayden, and Neal were all messing around on the roof of a vacant house. They were all pretty drunk. Tiffany and Hayden dared Neal to walk the trim. Neal, being drunk, lost his sense of perception and tumbled onto the unforgiving ground two stories above them. After a terrified scream and a blood-curdling crunch, the air was silent and Neal Kenneth Prescott no longer lived. Considering Hayden and Tiffany were drinking under age, they were forced to leave Neal’s body behind. A jogger the next morning called the case in, and Tiffany has been pretending she hadn’t been a part of that night since. His death had a positive impact on Tiffany, too. She decided to avenge his death by making their dreams come true. Hayden was long gone, and she decided to take on Princeton University as an English major. She graduated after six years of grueling work, Graduating last Summer, Tiffany has since moved to New York in order to pursue a writing career. She’s working for a local theater right now. Of course, she had not been the only mastermind behind the film. There was no way she’d be able to submit a successful movie alone. Other than that, she hopes to write a successful novel and a script independently. |
