"It's late. a voice said behind her, grasping her thin shoulder, giving it a little squeeze, "You should get to the hotel before the creeps come out." said the male voice, who Drewzy knew instantly was her boss, they'd worked around the clock trying to figure out how to make their clients more money, which meant, make them more money. She'd always been a hard worker, and had always put her heart and soul into everything she'd done, but after ten hours working in this tiny office with four other people, bumping knees and elbows, everyone else had already left. It had been stubbornness alone that had kept her there, long after everyone else had disappeared. She gave a helpless nod, standing up, she grabbed her little briefcase that looked more like a purse, it was an object she'd bought herself for the interview, in hopes that she would look girly enough to fool the interview, and it had worked, and refusing to waste money on a second, she'd continued to use it, she shoved her books and pen within, tucking the top into the button clasp, and turned to her boss, giving him a brave, fearless smile, "See you tomorrow," she said trying to push past the yawn that was urging its way past her clinched jaw. She turned at once, her natural curled hair bounced as she walked, wearing heels was never going to get easier. As soon as she left the comforts of the office buildings over head lights and safety, she was welcomed by the evening's warm air, a fresh breeze, after all she was in the windy city. She smiled, bringing in the smell of the city into her nose. No matter where she went, no city would ever feel like home like New York did. Her size 7 heels tapping on the pavement, not caring to pay attention to anyone that past her by, like she knew exactly where she was headed, with happy thoughts of slipping off these damn shoes. It was then that she was pulled into a dark alley, her thin frame slammed against the hard brick of the building. "Ow." she mumbled, looking at her attacker, a black ski mask covering his face, "Give me your money." he said, something hard and cold poking her in the side, must be a gun, she thought. she closed her eyes, a silent tear running down her cheek, as he lips trembled. "I dont.." she said, through her tears, in as calm of a voice as she could, "have any on me." she said, her eyes wide with fear. She felt him pull the briefcase off her shoulder, pulling her arm along with it. "What is this shit?" the attacker said, as he said looking quickly through her books and papers before throwing it on the ground, in a puddle of water. "Please.." she begged, "I don't have anything." This didn’t happen a lot at all. He was usually with Jaiden and if not her, he would find someone else like Bradley Ferrero to go into the city with him. Hell, he even asked Quinn once. That was fun. Not to mention even Tabitha Morning agreed to go with him. And it was all because he loved the city at night and hated enjoying it on his own. We should sit here and name everyone in the cast and crew if we had time, but we’re not gonna do that. Heh. Anyway, Danny and the rest of the people working with him on the production weren’t here in Chicago for as long as he would’ve liked, so he made the most out of the time he actually was here. And he made an attempt to include everyone in his time out in the city. However, tonight he didn’t feel so lonely even though he was by himself in the city. He was on the phone after he had eaten and stepped out. ”You know, I miss you already.” He was smiling to himself, a little lucky she couldn’t see how much of an idiot he looked like grinning like this. He passed by a dark alley, too distracted by anything else to notice what--or who--he passed by. The girl he was speaking to took over his mind day and night, so it wasn’t too surprising, he was lost in the conversation, listening to her voice. ”Please,” Danny slipped a hand into his pocket, before finally looking up. ”I’m in the city, I was just abo--“ He stopped dead in his tracks as he sensed the tension in the encounter between a man and a woman in the alley. The ski mask was a dead giveaway that something was definitely wrong. ”Andrea…I’m going to have to call you back,” His voice was soft enough so that it wouldn’t distract what was wrong on. He didn’t want to make matters worse. Before hearing anything back from Drea, Danny hug up and quickly dialed the police, whispering the situation before hanging up again and slipped his phone into his pocket. The man’s back was turned towards Danny, ”HEY!” so he took that moment to grab a bit of a 2 by 4 and smacked upside the head. He didn’t want to wait around for the police to come. Who knows what could happen to the poor young lady by then!? He could only imagine the worst. Danny wasn’t a violent guy, so he didn’t like having to do what he just did. It did feel good, but it didn’t work out as well as he had hoped, because the wood broke and probably barely even hurt the bad guy. ”Shit.” When he turned around, however, Danny tightened his fist as much as he could and throw a punch right at the man. The gun was now pointed towards Danny, but the man didn’t shoot. There was a gun! What the hell had he gotten himself into?! Danny should know better than to assume it was loaded. Instead of using his gun, Danny was grabbed by the man’s free hand and smacked right in the face with the hand that held the gun. After groaning in pain, Danny stood in front of the girl and stared at the man in the ski mask, ”You better get the hell out of here if you know what’s best for you! I’ve called the police.” The blow to his head almost knocked him out, but he was lucky enough to be conscious right now. Before he knew it, the ski man got closer, throw another punch at Danny before reaching into his pocket to pull out his pocket and ran off. This would have went down a lot better if he actually knew how to fight right. ”Fuck.” Hissing to himself, he rested his hand at the side of his face where it was now bleeding as he failed to pay attention to his gut where he was punched later. The anger in him was ready to be taken out on the girl who was there with him, but his kind heart towards women didn’t allow it, ”Can I ask why you were near in a place like this alone?” He didn't look at her yet. He was just watching down the alley and just stepped out.

She was trying to remember every detail, right down to the thick leather gloves he wore over his hands, the build and over all size of him. When she got every last detail, that she could think to remember, she closed her eyes, and silently prayed. Whatever the outcome, even if she would be shot, she hoped she'd live through it and be able to help the police to arrest her attacker. If not, this monster could go free without worry for the rest of his evil life while she lay six feet under the ground, forgotten by all. "Well the problem with that is, I just don't believe you." the deep rasp, his voice sounded like he smoked a three packs a day, her attacker soothed her, in what had to be his best sympathic voice, grabbing a lock of her hair and twisting it between his thumb and index finger. HEY!" boomed a voice, her face locked between his large gloved hand, her eyes rolled to the side, the shadow of a tall man, at least 6'3" towered, his body directly angled in street light from behind. Her knees began to wobble and shake, oh god, now there were two of them, she feared. Just them, a halo of light formed at the top of his head, and she saw the glimpses of fear slipping away. The gentlemen, she could only assume was coming to rescue her, had a 2 by 4 in his hand, and crushed it hard against the side of the ski mask, a loud thunder roared through the empty alley and as the man lost control of his hold on Drew, she shuttered away the moment his hold was released from her face, the gun no longer locked into the thin skin above her rib cage. Unable to leave her savior, she watched in horror as the scene played out. Though her mugger had seemed dazed and confused for moments, it quickly passed, finding himself, staring straight at the unmasked man, though he appeared to be brave, it was absolutely obvious that he hadn't spent much time roughing it up in fights. "HELP!" she screamed at the top of her lungs, though no one passed by their alley way, she kept screaming it, over and over again. "HELP US!" she cried. A hollow punch was thrown, and seemed to have no effect on the man who was apparently made of bronze. Gun, loaded or not, was pointed directly at the Knight in shining armor. She bit her lip nervously, between screams for help. She watched the seemingly fearless man, get grabbed by the neck, his gloved finger tips jamming into his fair skin, and the gun came smacking down, used more like a club than a hand pistol, her teeth gritted, as blood came spilling out of the open wound of her hero,shiny deep crimson gloss, reflecting even in the darkest of alley ways, he groaned, a shape pain running through her spine as if to feel the pain for herself, feeling useless, as she watched it all play out. ”You better get the hell out of here if you know what’s best for you! I’ve called the police.” he spat at the attacker, blood was creeping out of his left temple, making its way into his eyebrow. He was between Drew and the man, and she felt even the lightest big of safety with just the wall of flesh, and another punch to the gut, he checked his pockets and made his way down the dark alley, leaving her and the man who saved her life, alone. She leaned down, kneeling next to the man, "I am.. she said wide eyed, her tears leaving remains of mascara stained droplets down her ivory cheeks. so sorry," she finished, looking at his wounds, and feeling every bit as sorry as she expressed. "But.. thanks for helping me." she said, a soft caring tone in her voice, with even the slightest big of admiration. ”Can I ask why you were here in a place like this alone?” he asked her, his blue green eyes, surrounded by a fray of long dark eyelashes, beautiful really. "I just got off work, she explained, now remembering the bag that had been thrown, "He jumped me on the way to my hotel." there she'd found it, water stained, and the contents probably ruined, but she remained by his side. She owed him that. Not a lot people experience something like this and by the way Danny was “handling” it, it was obvious that something like this never really happened to him. Subconsciously, he would make sure he wasn’t alone in the city, but he never thought it was actually protecting him in a way from any harm. The first thing that came to mind once they were alone wasn’t the pain, though. There was actually a list of thoughts that occurred to him before he could think about the bleeding at his forehead. First of all and most importantly, he wanted to know if the girl who was now apologizing to him was okay. He didn’t think she needed to apologize. It actually didn’t even make any sense because none of this was her fault. If anything, it was probably his for not showing up sooner. Maybe he should have ordered quicker at the restaurant? Or maybe he shouldn’t have walked so slow after he left. He looked up at the girl, who was clearly shaking. Danny didn’t need to actually see it to be able to feel it not that she was at his side. Ugh, he must be looking like such a wimp right now. The second thing that came to mind was what his director would say about this. Luckily, there was no paparazzi following him to see what he was up to, but what would everything else think? Typical Danny was thinking about everyone but himself. He was afraid filming time would have to be adjusted and time would be lost while they would try to figure out what to do about the fact that he was in no condition to film. Not only was he making it harder for the moviemakers, but his co-stars as well. Then again, he didn’t regret what he just did. If the police didn’t come before something bad happened, he wouldn’t have forgiven himself knowing he could have done something to prevent it. He just hoped it wouldn’t be too much trouble at work. He had already gotten into one fight yesterday at work. Luckily, the anger from the punch he unintentionally (or was it?) threw at his co-star Raynold Graves was still fresh in his head and it somehow managed to transfer into enough fight to take on a bad guy. Man, the media would love this. He was one shocker after another. When was he going to stop? ”You’re welcome…and it’s not your fault.” Danny finally spoke back to the girl, getting up. Finally, the third thing he thought about was how much his head throbbed right now. Okay, maybe he shouldn’t have gotten up so quickly. But he couldn’t make it seem like he was too much of a wimp to handle a fight. ”Are you alright?” He finally asked after she explained what happened in very little words. He didn’t need to know more. It seemed as if he caught up the rest of it anyway on his own.

She had worn a dressy mini skirt with black and white lace designed into its fabric, flowing right to the tops of her knees, with a black lacy blouse covering a simple silk tank, pulling the outfit together with a shiny black four inch heel. She looked rakish, the average high class working woman, but she didn't feel it. She'd have killed to be able to preform the job in flats and jeans, but it didn't sell the success of her career, and others didn't take her seriously. Her long natural curls, fell down the side of her face, casting shadows across her low cheek bones, "Doesn't change the fact that, because of me you are hurt." she quickly replied her ruby red lips plump. He got up, seeming a little sluggish, but out embarrassment, it was clear that he put every bit of effort into appearing to be better than he actually was. "I'm fine." she said, her ivory teeth biting the edges of her cheek slightly, "Because of you." she said nervously. It was clear to her that most of her friends would say that'd take a bullet for her, but when it came down to it, would they? This perfect stranger had literally risked getting shot to save her life. "Are you okay?" she asked, her dark hazel eyes eyeing the wound on his forehead, and the blood that was coming out of it. "You should really get that looked at." she stated, the deep gash was already swelling, a dark ring of in raised skin around the cut. "The police should be here soon." she said awkwardly, the sound of sirens in the distance, the distance closing in as they spoke. Seconds later, a police car showed up and the two of them had their statements were taken about the man who had attacked Drew and the other man who she knew now was named Daniel Crawford, upon the officers demanding the two of their names, and she quickly told the men that the attacker was not him, and gave them a very detailed description of the man including the ski mask, and all the details she demanded herself to remember. Playing out the scene she witnessed between her savior and the attacker. After everything was said and done and the cop car left the two of them behind, she stood bending one heel to the side, flexing her ankle, before turning around to grab her back, "Do you mind if you walk me back to my hotel?" she asked feeling even more guilty that not only had she got him beat up, but she was also asking him to walk her, "I can clean your cut? she suggested, it felt awkward to her, she wasn't the type of girl to invite a stranger to come up to her room, but she did owe him her life, after all. It had been odd to Drew that the police had not brought someone to clean up the cuts, or even offered to drive her home, in New York City the police took pride in how they handled situations such as this, however, a typical new yorker would never have broke up the attack, for that she was thankful for Chicago. When she kneeled down beside him, he looked away, trying to make it seem like he was in too much pain, but that was the typical Daniel…once again, he was worried that too much blood would worry her. He found himself finally laughing weakly at her, wishing he had been laughing with her, but it seemed there was not a single humorous bone in her body at this point. Danny could still laugh, right? ”I can barely pin this on you. It’s not your fault you were the unlucky victim of some thug.” Once he was up on his feet, he finally turned towards the girl, in hopes of seeing a smile on her face, but he did. ”You’re welcome.” He figured “I’m fine because of you” was her way of saying thanks, so he responded to it. Her eyes were on his forehead and he reached up to touch it, wincing when he realized how bad it must’ve looked. Shit, sorry. I’m sure that just looks worse than it actually is. Don’t worry.” The next few minutes surprisingly went by with a breeze, ironically. As Drew continued to speak of the name, describing every single detail she remembered, Daniel listened in as if it was amazing how well she remembered even with the ski mask, considering all Danny remembered was a dark and evil eyes from behind the mask. While she continued with the descriptions, Danny was asked to be taken to the ER to get stitches on the obviously brutal smack on the head, but he rejected the offer, not once or twice but plenty of times because all he wanted to do was go home and treat it himself. The police left as quickly as they came and once again, he was standing there by the alley, alone with the other girl once again. ”Do you mind if you walk me back to my hotel?” Danny hesitated for a moment after her second suggestion, he realized he didn’t need any favors from her. ”Oh, it’s uh…it’s nothing.” He shook his head, touching the edge of that painful gash again while he decided he could still walk her back not because she asked but because he wanted to make sure she was okay the rest of the night. Danny didn’t safe this girl’s life knowing she wasn’t safe the whole time. That’d be stupid. No, he was definitely going to walk her back. ”Where are you staying?” He asked, beginning to walk and letting her lead the way towards her hotel…wherever that was.

"I feel like.. I've seen you before?" she finally admitted, though she knew now that his name was Danny Crawford, and she felt like she should know him, it still wasn't ringing the bell. The only face that seemed be burnt into her eyes was the ski covers of her attacker. "I'm sorry, I'm usually so much better at remembering names and faces." she explained, as she tucked lose strands behind her ear, "I'm a talent agent for movie stars." she told him, "Name and faces are kind of my responsibility, but.. after what just happened, I feel like I'm a puddle of goop." As the hotel came into view, she felt safe, she was nearly there, and with Danny's help she was going to get there uninjured. As they came to the entrance, they stared at each other, awkwardly, before she pointed at the doors, a fake brave smile pasted on her lips, "You want to come up, so I can clean that.. or.." she trailed. She'd never invited a guy to her room other than her best friend and their friends before, let alone a stranger, but she felt she owed it to him. "You should really get that cleaned up, and I have some first aid stuff in my room.." she said. She was trying to make it perfectly clear that they were just going to get the thing cleaned up and put a patch over it, and then he could be on his way, but she was clearly not hitting on him, though in the light from the inside, she could see that he was incredibly more good looking than she had originally guessed. Her stomach turned with all the excitement boiling down into the end of the night. As the went up in the elevator, she worried about Donovan, he had called earlier that day, but she hadn't had time to return his phone call yet, she was probably out of his mind with nervousness, as surprising as it sounded, he hadn't called the cops to check on her yet, that was good news. Now with everything that had happened, she couldn't find the strength to call him, he would be able to tell in a new york second that something had gone wrong, and he'd be on a plane before sun rise. It had took a lot of convincing for him to let her to take the trip on her own, but if he found out about what about this, he would never let her out of his sight. She looked into the strangers blue eyes, "I know that you are going to tell me that it's nothing, but.. you really did save my life." she bit her lip, the sound of the door opening to confirm they had made it to the top of the building, she turned to walk out the door first, leading him in the direction of her room. Standing out of room 1923, she took a deep breath before sliding her card in, the door flashing green, she pulled down the door knob and the lush room welcomed them, the big windows showing off the lights of the city on the far end of the room, she entered, kicking off her shoes and went to her bag, to find the kit, "Sit anywhere." she told him.
