Granted, it was like eight in the evening, but still it wasn't like she had done anything that entire day. She did her normal work out, but hell since she moved here with Nix she had her own gym in the house. She would really never need to leave. She had designed her rooms that way. She wanted every thing she would ever need here. Granted, that would have made for an incredibly lazy Desiree but she certainly had no complaints about that. She was way too social to never leave, but she was already getting in the habit of inviting people over rather than going out. She didn't know what it was about everything lately that had her shying away from big social gatherings. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that she wasn't trying to be the center of attention any longer. She just wanted to be a person. She liked attention as much as the next girl but she certainly wasn't vying for it like she used to. She had grown as a person a lot lately. When she was with Greg and while she was having her time with Alex she did everything she could to get attention. She was definitely what everyone thought of her. You could easily have judged her by her looks. She had made a conscious change, though. It was not something she hadn't intended on doing. She had even talked to Nix about it. She wanted to make a change for the better and she had. Granted she still had a load of other problems that she needed to fix, but the attention striving one was no longer. Desiree had a happiness problem and she always had. She blamed it on the fact that her mother had not ever been much of a real mother to her. She blamed it on the fact that she wasn't really ever that happy when she was young. She loved her brother and he loved her. He showed her so much love but that was the only family that she ever had. She never got to experience a happy family life. She didn't hate her life now and she didn't think she grew up miserable, but she wasn't stupid. She knew that the way she was brought up was the reason she was the way she was today. She knew it could have gone so much worse, which helped her look on the bright side of things. The bright side of her night was that in an hour or so a very attractive male was coming over. Desiree had zero intentions of sleeping with him, of course she would flirt until the cows came home, but she wasn't someone who slept with every person she saw contrary to popular belief. The problem with des was that she was a sexual person who didn't like sleeping around. She would flirt like crazy and enjoy the attention and all that, but she wanted little to do with the act of sleeping with random people. She looked at the clock and decided she should probably put some decent clothes on rather than the pjs she had on when she got out of the shower. She changed quickly and put some make-up on, fixing her hair. She didn’t put forth a ton of effort, but she liked to look good and she did what she wanted to make sure she did. It wasn’t long before she heard the doorbell ring and she bounded down the stairs to answer the door. She opened it up, looked him up and down and smiled. “Well Hi!” She laughed softly, turning to let him in the house. |
