Particularly in her professional life she knows that doing things safe usually takes longer and she doesn't get enough satisfaction if she plays the safe card. There are exceptions of course, but when she has to, she's highly determined to dive into dangerous waters and swim in the shark-infested waters of Hollywood. Does she have doubts though? Of course she does, but she trusts her own abilities and strengths. FRIENDLINESS Despite her weaknesses, Miranda is a friendly person, and her wide smile pretty much says it all. It's uncommon to see her grumpy and unwilling to talk to people around her unless work really gets to her or she's suffering a bad hangover. When she's being genuinely friendly (which is 50% of the time) she'll almost always introduce herself to you first and will always be the one to greet every one in the office every morning. She's very easy to warm up to, and loves to have interesting and informed chats with anyone she comes across. COOPERATIVE Part of her job as a talent agent is to cooperate with those making the films and television shows. Part of her friendly nature is her willingness to compromise and make reasonable decisions to make everybody happy whether it's a simple argument to an actual deal between a studio and her client. If the client wants a particular job then she'll cooperate and find the job that'll make them happy. Likewise for a studio that might want a particular client of hers. PERSUASIVE When there's something that she wants but can't get, she'll pull out her persuasive skills. This links to her cooperative side as she make compromises to make both parties happy, but if she's not happy then she's definitely stubborn enough to persuade people to work in her favour. Because of this, she's managed to pull many many strings and is currently fighting her way to become a prominent and reputable talent agent. STRAIGHTFORWARD She doesn't usually play around with pretty words as she tells things straight and bluntly. She has to particularly since she believes that to survive in this industry you need to toughen up and hear things truthfully. Because of this, she'll give you the bad news first and not lace words to make it sound less bad. If the director hated you for no reason, the director hated you for no reason. If your husband went to a strip club, he really went to a strip club. But that's not to say that she's insensitive. She sympathises - or at least tries to - and will comfort you if you're really that devastated. WEAKNESSES OPPORTUNIST When working as a talent agent, things don't always go as planned or as smoothly as Miranda likes. And while she usually likes to rely on her own resources, she'll highly willing to use other people to get what she wants. Whether it's for work or personal reasons, she's a people user. Opportunist just sounded more intelligent. And sure, while she's friendly, fifty percent of the time that friendliness is fake. Why? It's because you'll benefit her in some way. After that, she'll act as if you never met. MATERIALISTIC Who needs a simple loft when you can have an upscale apartment in Fifth Avenue? Miranda likes to pride herself in being the most fashionably dressed in her office. And when I say fashionably, I mean decked out in designer clothing. She'll seriously judge you if you're wearing a knock-off or if you're wearing something that's second-hand. That being said, expensive material possessions make her extremely happy to a point where she's almost become a designer hoarder. She's already had to expand her wardrobe to a point where she's considering living in a much bigger apartment. COMPLACENT She prides herself in her achievements, often citing that she did everything herself. It's almost sick really, because she doesn't thank anyone else but herself because she's so focused on how hard she works. She's very smug and exhibits it to a point where it becomes offensive for other people. But she doesn't care. She's achieved something that makes her feel extremely happy and she wants to show her happiness to the world. TWO-FACED Sure, Miranda is friendly, but she can instantly turn around and bitch about you to other people. And as mentioned before, she'll also be friendly to you if she knows you can be of use to her before she ditches you like it's no big deal. This means - in other words - she's a big fake and she's good at hiding it. Unfortunately this has always been a thing of hers for as long as she could remember, because being pretty she believes she can get away with it. RESENTFUL Anything or anyone that crosses her, she becomes resentful of - and it lasts a while. She's had clients who've dropped her and she hates them a lot. Sometimes she won't show it, sometimes she won't talk to those people at all, but will always bitch and talk about them behind their backs. Call her a hypocrite if you want to but that's honestly the way she is. She has a selfish way of thinking. SKILLS Miranda can dance and takes hip-hop lessons as a fitness thing. She also does yoga in her spare time. EXPERIENCE Miranda began studying business management and political science at the University of Manchester in the England before doing an exchange to NYU for a semester in her third year. While volunteering for a Democratic campaign party held in New York, she was introduced to a man who had offered her a personal assistant job at his agency after she was to graduate. After receiving her degree, she moved to New York and began work as a personal assistant to an agent at a massive talent agency - introducing her to the world of Hollywood. It was a highly grueling job and she often found herself in the middle of inter-office scandals as well meeting producers, directors and actors. It was a job she hated, but she was determined to show her family that she was going to be successful in America. Plus it was hard to find another job. Then things started to actually move forward when a friend of hers asked her to casually read a script he had written. Impressed by its story, Miranda sneaked it into her boss' office and her friend soon found himself being dubbed the next Woody Allen in Hollywood. After finding out that it was Miranda who gave him the script, her boss gave her the opportunity to trial out a job as an agent herself. Years later, Miranda now stands on her own two feet knowing the inner workings of her job and actually loves it. |
