INDEPENDENT - . She doesn't like taking help and she doesn't like being looked after. She's a big girl and she can take care of herself. Part of it comes from being raised to feel that being self-sufficient is very important and that you shouldn't rely on somebody else. But also after a childhood of illness and having her family being overprotective for the rest of her teenage years (and sometimes still), Susie has always itched to be independent. Unfortunately, mrs. martin had been keeping a watchful eye on the liquor cabinet ever since rachel had gotten home from school. no matter how hard she tried, it had proven impossible to distract her mother while simultaneously snatching the 2'6 of captain morgan from the piece of furniture. it was obvious that the woman knew her daughter and her friday night antics all too well. she was determined to make it as difficult as possible for her daughter to take the easy route through life. this left Savannah with the first problem to solve that night: to find a guy to get her a run. it probably wouldn't be too difficult. there were a few guys who hung out in the back parking lot of the local superstore. dead enders, the ones who were stuck reliving their high school days, the ones who couldn't move on because they hadn't gotten the grades or the scholarships necessary for college. most of the time, she'd be able to convince them to get her a bottle of rum. that, combined with the promise of an extra ten dollars and a flirty smile usually did the trick. if the guy was still hesitant, then his friends would usually egg him on, if only to converse with the hot teenager for five minutes. the second problem was whose place to crash at that night. it probably wouldn't end up being much of a problem. guys ended up getting more and more desperate as the night progressed. if Savannah couldn't find whoever she had her heart set on, someone was bound to let her pick them up. if worst came to worst, Savannah was pretty sure that nolan could give her somewhere to go. the guy was pretty good at taking care of his friends, even if it meant dropping savannah off to sleep on her porch. here. |
