Film festivals are huge in the entertainment industry. Many celebrities attend and they are away from Hollywood and considered of as a holiday. There are many different film festivals throughout the year honoring many different genres. Most of them happen annually and it's also great publicity. A lot of independent films premiere at these festivals. Some of the most popular ones include:

• Cannes Film Festival (May in France)
  
• Sundance Film Festival (January in Utah)
  
• The New York Film Festival (September - October)
  
• Cleveland International Film Festival (March)
  
• Tribeca Film Festival (April - May in New York City)
  
• The Toronto International Film Festival (September)
