But here he was on, the set of “The Impossible Planet” standing by the front door of the studio with his hands folded across his lower stomach with his usual “don’t cross me” scary look on his face. He was a friendly guy and probably would not hurt a fly if he didn’t have to, but he took his work seriously enough to piss off a few people in the process. Today he was in a good mood, though. As much as he was finding all of this a little weird, he was sort of enjoying being a security guard again for the day. They were filming on set in LA and they usually had someone guarding the front entrance to make sure no one the “not on the list” came in. These actors and crew people saw themselves as artists and would much rather prefer to not be interrupted. He understood that in a way, but it seemed these days anyone can come and go by a simple “he’s with me” or “she’s my girlfriend.” He wasn’t standing around to judge, though. Besides, plenty of the actors these days were modest, so he shouldn’t judge at all. If they wanted him to guard, he would guard. ”Daddy, look!” After sitting in the chair outside the studio with Skype turned on his phone, he grinned at the screen on which his daughter was holding up a picture of what seemed to be nothing more than scribbles at first, but a few ovals and circles allowed him to make the drawing eventually look like a dog. A poodle perhaps. ”That is beautiful, sweetheart! What is it?” ”Doggy!” ”Doggy? Wow!” His smile only grew wider as he watched the excitement in her eyes as she took away the iPad from and ran off with it. He chuckled to himself, ”Alright, Suzie! Put Daddy down, I have to get back to work!” Eventually, Teddy run up the video chat with his daughter and her mother before getting to his feet. This was pretty what he did all day as a security guard. He only really went out for people who were trying to get through and didn’t belong there. The rest of the time, he was just an outdoor decoration piece. It was one of the reasons she enjoyed being a bodyguard more. He actually had more action. No, he didn’t get to carry a gun around anymore, but it was still a cool job. Sort of. Out of boredom, Teddy found himself on his phone again, this time texting his client that he bodyguarded these days. He had an interesting, more personal relationship with her—shouldn’t be surprising as he did guard her body and whatnot, not to mention the little trend going around with the celebrity/bodyguard relationships. Not that he had a relationship with his client, he just wanted to check up on her. And while he did so, he barely even noticed someone—who didn’t belong here at the moment—approaching the studio. When he did, though, he looked up and stepped up in front of her, phone still in hand as he spread his arms out halfway but still politely as he questioning the pretty lady. ”And where do we think we’re going?” he asked instantly in his low, but for now soft voice. made by hay shay @ caution 2.0 |
