[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(), border: solid #ffffff 5px; width: 400px; height: 500px;] lately things seemed to be looking up for julian, normally he kept himself so consumed with his work until the wee hours of the night. now though, he decided to ease up on the work load and just spend time out with his friends or by himself doing absolutely nothing. to most people, that didn't seem like much but to him - it was a huge thing. he didn't have the best track record when it came to people, it took him almost forever to actually open up and not let himself be so shy around them. he was getting better, over the past few days he made some new friends and they seemed to really enjoy him. julian headed out of his apartment and began making his way to meet diz for the studio session that they had set up with each other. everyone at this point knew that julian was a musician and a few people had even heard some of his songs and he got really good feedback from it. so..why not? well for the simple fact that he didn't have the confidence that diz and everyone else had. put him on stage and julian became a different person, it was the same way when he was working on film sets as a fight choreographer, he transformed completely. maybe it was because he was in a professional setting and he was doing what he loved to do. he wasn't really sure what was going to happen in this studio session, diz was definitely a wild card. he had known the guy for a while and he was always making julian feel a bit uncomfortable. though that wasn't anything new with him, it was easy to make this kid turn bright red in the face. last time he was in the studio had actually been when he was with alex, that day turned out to be really cool. he remembered the day she asked him if he wanted to go into the studio with her, diz had also been there and it sort of turned into a small game of tug-of-war. julian, being the nice guy he was just promised that he'd go in with both of them - besides they were two of his favorite artist. well..alex was more of the gorgeous girl that he knew he could never get but still, it was nice to hang out with her. it had been the first time in a while that he worked with someone outside his little circle of friends who were also into music. when julian wasn't working on films he was making music with his four other friends, they had started a group together and were currently thinking of going public. so whenever he had the urge to make music, he'd just call them up and they'd all head to a studio. he cleared his throat as he entered the building and headed to the room that diz told him he would be in. after a minute or two of walking around he finally found it and stepped inside the room with a small smile on his face. nervous, why the fuck was he so nervous. "hey diz." he spoke, his hands shoved into his pockets out of nervous habit. diz had heard one, maybe two of julian's songs in the past but he had changed so much since then. his voice got better and he started experiementing with different styles and lyrics. "so we're finally in the studio together, took me long enough i know." he smiled, throwing in a quiet laugh. "what's up? how've you been?"

His girlfriend knew it, his mom was figuring it out, and Julian was about to discover that he had seen nothing yet. Diz wasn't naturally a dick to everyone; he learned to defend himself at a young age from white kids who wanted to kick him around and some of his cousins who wanted a punching bag. Diz was never the tall kid or the strong kid, so his mouth had been his only tool, and he learned to smart off to confuse his enemies. In the end, that was very beneficial because he became a successful rapper with his quick, witty words and hidden insecurities. He was able to talk about his flaws in his music, even if people who knew him would be damned if he ever told anyone he was insecure about his height or weight or whether or not Tasha was going to find someone else. The truth was that he was just as human as the rest of them. He just had a better way of hiding it. Diz was finally home from being on tour. He was excited to be back in his hometown and to be able to see his girlfriend a little bit more. He didn't speak much of it, but it was actually extremely taxing to be on tour with a bunch of beautiful women who wanted to jump into bed with him. He was committed; Diz didn't want to cheat on his best friend and ruin a good thing. He wasn't the type to look at the future voluntarily, but he didn't want to ruin Tasha's respect for him. He also wanted Julian's respect. Diz didn't change himself for other people to make them happy, but he definitely didn't change himself to make them angry, either. He needed to follow his own morals, as strange as they could be. His vices were sex and drugs and sometimes lust, not downright cruelty. Hurting Tasha seemed like masochism. Diz didn't know what he would do without her. She knew that without him having to tell her, and he was glad she understood him so well after four years of a good and at times complicated friendship. He made his way to his studio room to wait for his girlfriend's younger brother. As he looked over some of his written songs, he wondered what made Julian want to come to the studio with Diz. He remembered fighting over Julian with Alex Brooks. He didn't mind sharing the kid, but he didn't understand what was so great about Alex Brooks. He was guessing that Julian was sexually attracted to her. He planned to ask the guy. Diz was oblivious as to why sex talk made the kid so damn insecure. Once he entered the room, Diz crossed the room to give the guy a big hug. "Yeah, you're finally here, little fucker!" Diz said, pulling the kid into a headlock and running his knuckles across his hair. He finally released him and showed him the place. "Cool, yeah?" Diz said, raising his eyebrows. It probably wasn't that cool. "Oh, yeah, I bet Alex's is better than this piece of shit." He grinned at Julian. "Joke. It's a joke." It was too easy to make the kid squirm. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(), border: solid #ffffff 5px; width: 400px; height: 500px;] music had always been a passion of julian's, ever since he was a kid he would sing along to the songs on the radio and would even switch up the lyrics sometimes so that it would fit his name. his sister had always been supportive of him, his parents on the other hand didn't agree. they wanted him to become a doctor and at one point he was on board with the plan, just to make them happy but his senior year - something changed within him. he couldn't see himself waking up everyday and having someone else's life in his hand. julian didn't want to be the person that had to wife, a mother, a child that their loved one didn't make it. if you didn't know it by now then you'd realize that julian was one of the nice guys, probably too damn nice for his own good. it gotten him picked on a lot in school and he was definitely a push over when it came to certain things. actually, he was a push over when it came to almost everything - it was hard for him to stand up for himself and speak his mind. julian was always worried about his words or actions hurting someone else, so he tried his best to please everyone around him - even if he got burned in the process. he had known diz for some time now and the guy still found a way to make julian turn red in the face from embarrassment. anyone who knew julian knew that it was pretty easy to make the kid feel uncomfortable, the worst subject to talk to him about was sex. that was something that he would never get use to talking about, it was something that he felt should be kept private between people. others found him strange for his way of thinking but he didn't think it was strange at all - in fact he found everyone to be completely nuts. the big secret that he had been harboring was that he was still a virgin which at this day in age, made people suspect that he was a weirdo or that he was gay. julian most definitely was not gay. not that there was anything wrong with that, it was just he felt that he hadn't found the right girl yet - not that he had been looking to begin with. when it came to girl's he had no idea how they operated, he only got to know them on a friend level and if he was interested in them then they weren't interested in him. he was oblivious to the signs of them liking him, he was just..a lost cause. his smile widened a bit when he saw diz was excited to see him, he was actually surprised the guy even liked him. though a part of him figured that he only put up with him because he was dating his sister and if he was a dick then julian would run and tell tasha. he would never do that though, that wasn't his style. diz and tasha's relationship had nothing to do with julian, so if diz were to ever have a problem with him then it would be just between the two of them. yeah, you're finally here, little fucker! julian scoffed before feeling himself being put in a headlock and that annoying feeling of diz's knuckles running over his scalp. "ah, stop! what the hell?" he remarked, shoving at diz's arm. julian could have easily gotten out of the hold but he didn't see the point, he wasn't in any danger, diz was just messing around. the boy ran a hand over his mohawk as he glanced around the place. julian opened his mouth about to ramble his ass off before diz cut him off. "all of you are..i mean.." he exclaimed as he shook his head. he stared at his shoes, kicking at the ground as opted to not go further on the situation. "so what're doing today?" he asked, trying to avoid that whole subject all together. he knew that if they continued on that road, he would ramble and then it would come out that he was still a virgin and the last person that needed to know that was diz. it was bad enough that tasha knew..or she just assumed he was, either way he didn't want this getting out.

He only invited those who he found honorable and even admirable. It was saying something that Diz felt inclined to invite Julian into his life. If he only wanted to impress Tasha, he would be far less open with the guy and maybe less vulgar, but he wanted to be friends with Julian because it was fun to teach someone younger how to make music. Showing someone the ropes would help Diz out as well; he wasn't allowed to forget the basics of music, of course, so tutoring someone else, even if the kid didn't need much help, would play into Diz's hand as much as he allowed it to. Julian was useful to him, sure, but he also liked the kid's style. He was a kind person, but he wasn't annoying or particularly judgmental. That was Diz's kind of person. He had too amny blunt assholes in his life. He needed the JJs and Julians in the world to balance that out. He was mumbling as soon as Diz let him go, so the man ignored the drivel and started touching the controls again. "I'm going to see what you can do," Diz grinned. To him, he wasn't being tough with Julian or too forward. He was used to being able to speak his mind and people listening. He wasn't too used to people like Julian. It seemed like he squirmed with every cuss word. Diz looked at him. "You're not nervous, right? I know you have hidden talent, so don't give me shit to work with." He couldn't help but laugh as he pointed to the door to the room where the mic hung for Julian to give Diz some kind of a sample. "If you can show me your best song so far, I can evaluate you and see what we can do." Diz knew how to work with technology and knew what good music was, so he was taking the reigns as a professional. It was only natural to him. Diz had noticed that Julian had avoided the whole Alex Brooks situation, but it didn't concern him, at least not while they were at the recording studio. He was sure Tasha knew more about it and would be able to help Julian out if he needed it, so the man didn't interrogate him or make a fuss over it. In all honesty, Diz couldn't give less fucks about other people's lives or what people thought of his. Business was business, and it was to be rather private. He wasn't too concerned if his personal life got out and into the open. It frustrated him to hear about how everyone thought he was going to cheat on Tasha, but he knew that he was going to prove the world wrong, so he shrugged it off and moved on with his day. "um.." he muttered as he shifted around in his shoes. was he nervous? "yes, i am.." he replied honestly. julian could sing, they both knew that but when it came to people demanding him to sing on the spot - he felt a bit insecure. julian would start thinking about a lot of things at once, one of them being that he would mess up and make a complete fool of himself. his eyes followed the man's finger as he pointed to the mic that seemed to be taunting him. at that point he hadn't really heard anything else that diz had said, his eyes glued to the mic as he tried to control his already rattling brain."it's just i get...nervous when i have to sing for new people." he sighed. julian didn't even know what he was going to sing, billions upon billions of songs out there in the world and he couldn't think of one thing to sing. he figured he could sing an original but a majority of his songs weren't in english and he didn't feel like deciphering anything for the man to understand. what he needed was a piano at his finger tips, that would make him feel more at ease with his singing. "my best song? i don't even think i have a song that's good enough man.." he exclaimed, rubbing the back of his neck as he felt his anxiety start to build up. now he was just stalling but he knew sooner of later diz was going to get him into that studio whether he was ready or not. "i figured that we could talk first and then get to that other stuff." he even through in a smile as if that would help him. "and i mean, getting evaluated by someone like you and alex..that's a big deal." he rambled, his hands sliding into his back pockets to keep from rubbing his neck raw. julian's eyes widened a bit as he felt the small portable usb device in his left pocket. thank you, sweet baby jesus. the boy retracted his hand and held out the thing to diz so he could place it in the computer and hear a few songs that were on there. "i have this, it has a few songs on it that i've done but um, you can play track 02, it's called Wedding Dress." he stated as he sat down in one of the empty chairs. "it's ony of my ballads and then there's a track after that - it's one of my dance tracks, it's called I'll Be There and i've actually shot videos for both of those tracks.." he nodded. this was great, it gave him a chance to not have to go into the booth and..pardon his french, but fuck up. while diz would play his songs, he'd use this time to think of what the hell he was going to do when he would have to get on the mic.

He didn't know how to tell the kid to just calm the fuck down. It didn't anger Diz, of course; it entertained him in a way, but if it got in the way with how productive they were going to be with the music, he was not going to be a happy camper. "I'm not Kanye West, man," he tried to reassure Julian. "I make mixtapes and get my music out there for free. I'm not a big shot or anything." As egotistical as Diz was, he was aware that he was nowhere near the pinnacle of his musical talents. He had so far to go to get where he needed to be. He let people get to his music for free because he wanted them to enjoy his potential for what it was, not for the cash. Diz liked what money could do for him and never wanted to be poor again, but there was no way he was going to pimp his passion out. He wanted real fans to be rewarded and to continue loving him for being real. There was definitely some pressure on Julian; Diz expected the best from the kid. He knew that Julian was a good singer. He had no doubts about how hard the kid worked and just how much the kid wanted a shot in the music industry. Diz wanted to help him out and was always eager to seek out talent in the field so he could boost people. It was out of compassion and selfishness. If they made it big, Diz would be credited. Even more importantly, though, Diz remembered how hard it was to get started and never wanted the best of the best to struggle to be heard. "We've known each other for years. I'm not new," he grinned at the kid. Something about Julian's demeanor made Diz laugh. He was so squeamish and timid that Diz felt obligated to mess with him or just give him a big hug. "Don't ever say you're not good enough," Diz said seriously and suddenly after a few moments of thinking about what he was trying to tell Dexter. "Fucking... Just... That attitude will get you nowhere." He stared at Julian. He wasn't angry, but it was like an older brother scolding a boy a few years his junior. Diz watched the boy move absentmindedly in anxiety until he pulled something out of his ass. "A flash drive?" Diz laughed. "I thought you were just going to convulse until nightfall." He pulled the object lightly from Julian's fingertips and plugged them into a port. After pressing a few buttons, music came on, but it wasn't what Julian had wanted him to hear. "Track two?" Diz flipped to wedding song. "Make yourself comfortable," he said before turning back and listening intently to the music. It was in Korean, obviously, but that didn't make Diz dismiss it. The beat was great, one that was easy to dance to. He could see it being a great piece to perform on a stage. Julian's voice, on top of everything, was incredible. "This is really you?" Diz asked. He seemed nonchalant, but he was actually very impressed. Once that song was over, he clicked to the next one and listened through. "I'd like to see these videos," he nodded. "You're good, Julian. It's not exactly what my music is, but it doesn't mean I can knock on it. It's good shit. Who helped you shoot videos?" he asked suddenly, realizing that he had not thought of that. "my friends and i jam to your stuff like crazy, you might as well be kanye or something." he replied with a small grin. diz had experience and that was more than enough for julian to hold him at such a high standard. he really tried to not be so nervous around people but when he did he always ended up looking like a fool. julian often blamed it on his lack of experience, that maybe if he lost his virginity then his confidence would just come out of him. when he was on stage with his friends performing, he became a totally different person. he was the guy that he wanted to be, one who was always confident within himself yet he still had that boyish charm that seemed to make the girls swoon. "yeah i know but it's like...we've known each other but we don't really...know each other." he commented. "other than the simple stuff." which was true, julian didn't know the man as well as his sister did. the boy was use to being picked on by diz as well as by everyone else - it didn't bother him so much anymore. growing up it wasn't the best feeling inthe world but he learned to deal with it as best as he could, no point in letting people see that they had gotten to you right? his eyes flared as diz spoke. well shit. "i'm sorry." he apologized quickly as he shook his head. "it's just i can't help it..." julian even offered a small smirk to make light of the situation. "but you're right.." he nodded, repeating the words you're right quietly to himself as he stared at the ground. well, this was just going great wasn't it? he was already annoying the hell out of diz and the day had just started. julian was positive he'd hear some shit from his sister at some point. he laughed a little at the other man's choice of words, diz always had some type of colorful way of describing julian's actions. his anxiety spiked once again as he watched his flash drive get connected to the computer. he walked over to the empty chair and sat down, wiping his palms on his jeans as he waited for his voice to come out through the speakers. his eyes stared at diz to gauge his reaction of his music. would he like it? would he tell julian that he did think he had real talent or would he crush his dreams right here? why did julian think so dramatic at times he had no idea but it definitely freaked him out. he honestly needed to get his shit together pronto. he watched as his mentor nodded his head to the beat, that was a good sign right? julian could feel a smile forming on his lips, this was great. "yeah, i promise it is." he laughed quietly before glancing down at his shoes. good thing he wasn't blushing otherwise it would just make things more awkward. his head snapped up and his eyes popped once again when the male said he wanted to see the videos. holy shit. "uhh..sure. there up on my youtube..or you could just look them up on youtube, they've been uploaded by some many people it's crazy." thanks to being a part of a music group with his friends, their fanbase was a pretty decent size - big enough for them to perform shows in different cities. so, when the time came for him to start his own solo career, his old fans jumped on the bandwagon bringing along new ears to enjoy his sound. "coming from you and alex that means a lot to me. thank you, seriously.." he stated truthfully. "i also have an english version of it..guess i should've had you play that one but i feel like this version..i don't know. i put more feeling into it i guess, my first song i written by myself actually.." he admitted with a small shrug. "friends from school.." he replied sheepishly while he scratched the back of his neck. "most of them now are film majors, so you'll probably be seeing them around here pretty soon.." julian wasn't sure if he was going to view the videos now or later but whenever he did decide, julian wanted to know what he thought of his performance ability. "um, well..i'm comfortable with..i mean i enjoy playing the piano while i sing and i'm really good at ballads. my friends and i, we have our own music group and we're pretty good - we actually just did a show a couple of days ago and it was amazing." he said with a nod. "anyone who's seen me live will tell you that i'm a performer, i enjoy dancing when i sing. like, all the songs that i have, even the slow ones i've come up with a routine and i have dancers with and..it's like legit." he felt like he was rambling, so he stayed quiet for a moment as he looked over at diz. julian couldn't help but quirk a brow at the male as he said his last statement. "it's fine really, i'm use to it." he smirked. "i've actually gotten a lot better, normally i'd just act like i don't speak english but since it's you.." the i can't went unsaid.

It was honestly nice to hear; so many of his fans seemed distant, like he had to go looking for them on tour. It was flattering to hear that someone who knew him actually enjoyed his music. "That's nice and all, Julian, but I don't want you to be all squirmy and shit. No need." He smiled kindly at the boy, which was almost completely out of character. Diz truly wanted to influence this kid. For one, it benefited Julian, who wanted to go into the industry of music. With Diz, he had a foot in the door and a few more links to get him where he needed to go. For Diz, it was nice to reach out and help someone who was where Diz used to be. It wasn't to impress Tasha; if Diz wanted to impress anyone, it wouldn't be Tasha. She was probably the only person on the planet who would never gasp and clap at anything Diz accomplished. She had other ways of expressing her pride and faith in him, ways that were too deep for even Diz to understand. Even with four years under their belts, the two had so much to learn about each other. "We know each other well enough," Diz told Julian dismissively. He didn't need Julian to be nervous; he imagined if the kid had been given an opportunity to discuss his career with a total stranger. He needed to get used to being confident and charismatic, not mousy and awkward. A part of any fame industry was the social aspect of it, and Julian was obviously lacking in that department. Diz hated when people were socially inept. It made him uncomfortable, which was a tough feat to accomplish in the first place. It made Dexter remember that days when he was the kid being kicked. He had the shit beat out of him enough times to where he never wanted to vulnerable again. Ironically enough, he was now dating a badass Hollywooda actress who could probably match up evenly in a boxing match with her boyfriend. That was a scary thought, but at least Diz wasn't dating some typical weak chick. He didn't want someone who was average. Tasha was so good that even he wondered why she stuck around. Dexter was an honest guy. He would have told Julian if his work were shit, but his high expectations were not doused when the boy's voice came streaming through the speakers. Admittedly, he was a bit shocked with how well Julian could speak Korean and how confident he sounded, but he had never seen anything but the most talent coming from a Sinn. He knew their family and felt like he had an idea of just how much they dedicated to all that they did. Tasha never did things halfway; her work-outs were always thorough and intense, her acting was empowering, and her affection was undeniable -- relentless. Diz knew these things about their family and admired it; it inspired him, in a way, and made him feel like it was his duty to use every ounce of energy during his performances. Julian was aware that being a performer filled the artist with absolute control, a feeling that one could never achieve without a stage and a huge set of loyal fans. "You can show me the videos and English shit next time," he waved dismissively, once again moving onto what he wanted to discuss next. Diz didn't exactly consider what Julian thought of him. He knew that he made the kid uncomfortable, but he didn't care if Julian thought he was an asshole. He had every right to think these things of Diz because he was inherently selfish and unkind. He had his good moments, but he never reached out to others if it didn't somehow make him feel better. "I would like to meet your buddies. I bet they would want to have a part in what you're trying to become. I mean, it's always good to have people to back you up. Without Jed, I don't know what I would have done." Diz's best friend was a musical prodigy with a huge line of experience backing him up. Dexter had on problem giving the man credit for much of Diz's success; he would be nothing without the man's guidance. Diz nodded, unable to conceal a genuine smile when Julian really opened up about the performing experience. He leaned in, patting Julian on the shoulder momentarily. "There's nothing better than that feeling, man." Diz's eyes traveled to some place that did not exist in the small recording studio. "You're up there and you're just vibing and shit. And everyone is listening, but that's not what really matters." He met Julian's eyes again. "Like, it's some serious shit. You go up there and it's about what you want to say, what you feel." He held a fist above his heart. "It's you, Julian." He cleared his throat, finally averting his eyes back to the microphone in the glass-encased room. "Dude, we can do whatever you want. But we're going to do it now. Korean, whatever. Let's freestyle this." He stood and opened the door to the studio after turning on the recording system. Diz liked using the autopilot settings when he wanted to record on his own. He played a simple beat that could easily be followed by anyone who could feel music. He gave Julian a set of headphones. "Actually," Diz said, pausing. "I want you to go ahead and go first." He looked at Julian before walking back into the sound room. "I can't follow what you sing unless I know what you've got... live.
