Throughout the day, Bianca Tanner had no idea why she didn’t let Camden Carter just slip away. You know how girls are, they end up thinking about one thing for the longest time, considering the situation from every single answer and asking themselves a crap load of “what if”s. Just as the guy was about to give up on asking Bianca out, she told him she will give him a chance. There were so many reasons she continued to deny him any reason to see her as anything more than a fuck buddy, but he shot all those reasons in her face as if none of those reasons should matter. She was disagreeing. It did matter that she was still an actor that he and Richard hired—people would talk—but it didn’t concern him. And it did matter that she wasn’t his only date in the past week or so. Hell, she wasn’t one of two either. There were many others, but that didn’t concern him either. Was it wrong to say he asked a couple of them out just because Bianca said no? Maybe. If they weren’t rebounds, they were definitely girls he’d have if not Bianca. Should she have let it go? Did she want to be his only date? Twisting her mascara until it tightly closed, she looked up at herself in the mirror. This was one question she could never answer honestly because a “yes” or “no” wouldn’t work for her. She didn’t care how many girls Camden saw. He was no womanizer and probably deserved the attention from the ladies he was around because he was such a sweetheart to all of them. Bianca couldn’t deny him of what he loved doing. It was clear he didn’t like being alone.
She didn’t understand why it had to be her, though. She wanted to see this man happy, but of all people, he picks the sluttiest girl in Hollywood who can’t keep a man for longer than a month, let alone a week. Maybe he’ll find that out the hard way? She didn’t know. The point was, she hated that she couldn’t stop thinking about that man. The man that claimed he wanted to date her with sex out of the picture. Was he saying that because he thought that’s what she wanted to hear? Because it really wasn’t what she wanted to hear. Something like that would probably make Bianca say no, especially considering she had already had sex with this man countless times and would most likely want it again. She leaned forward in the vanity table, running her lipgloss across the bottom lip and then the top lip. By the time she started to get ready for her date with Camden Carter, she realized that it was probably a good thing she didn’t let him slip away. She hadn’t dated complete assholes in the past or anything, but Cam was surely different. He was older, wiser…far too much of a gentleman. As far as she could tell, Cam respected girls more than any other man she’d come across lately. Was that fair to the rest of the gentleman around Hollywood? Probably not, but it was honestly hard to think about any other man when this one was probably on her way to pick her up right this second.
Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, she thought. By now, Bianca was considering the possibilities of a second date. Or a third, or more. Maybe it’ll last for longer than her past relationships. Maybe…just maybe she wouldn’t screw up so much that she’d break up or he would break up. She hadn’t even been on a single date with him and she was already thinking about a relationship? Might she mention, this date—whatever they were about to do—wasn’t going to end in sex. Should she even bother with what she was doing right now? Grooming herself, doing her hair and make-up? Yes. Sex or no sex, Bianca kept her body looking fantastic…for herself. If she had it, there was no reason not to take care of it. Who knows? Maybe he’ll realize that it isn’t that easy to just say no to sex considering they had already done it on several occasions. Not to mention, she hadn’t really hung out with him as a friend much. She basically just had sex with him and then headed out the door. And no, she wasn’t going to get on his case about asking her out through Facebook because she had turned him down pretty much everywhere else. They went out for drinks one time and she turned him out there—after sex, of course. They ran into each other at the park once, where she turned him down. After she visited him that night in his office, she turned him down and it was about time she gave him a chance because on top of him being so sweet, she never had anyone try as hard as Camden did to make her say yes to one date. How long did a man have to try before he gave up? Apparently Cam wasn’t intending on finding that out this time around. And he was right. She said no because she was trying to protect herself from getting hurt. He knew her well enough already to realize she didn’t want to get into anything emotional just out of fear that it wouldn’t work. She found herself trusting this man already. He wouldn’t hurt her.
Bianca stood from the table and looked herself over at the mirror once more. She wasn’t told where they were going for dinner, so a nice dress at a local pizza place wouldn’t fit and neither would a blouse and jeans work in a nice formal place—because she saw him as the kind of guy who’d do that. Honestly, she didn’t care either way because she was doing this for Cam, not for eating at a nice place, because she could do that any day on her own. Dating wasn’t ever her thing, so she wouldn’t be able to pick an ideal date. She loved surprises and spontaneity, so when Cam said it would be a surprise, a typical nice dinner wasn’t on her mind. For the record, the best time she has with a man is if sex is involved or a thrilling outdoor activity—namely sports. This was no time for sports, though, so this “surprise” was all she could think about. Or maybe it was his smile. Perhaps that voice? Bianca finally tied up her hair, checking herself out for the last time before she could walk away from the mirror, she snatched the hairtie out and let her hair down and just as the heard the doorbell ring, she smiled to herself and walked out the door, heading down the stairs before she could open the door, she swiftly turned her hair to look at the mirror by the door, once again pulling her hair up in a bun in the hairtie before opening the door, instantly feeling the urge to pull the man into her home, rip him out of those clothes and make him forget about this date idea. In the midst of these hungry thoughts running through her mind, she didn’t think to even say hi, she just started undressing him with her eyes.
