Being part of a celebrity’s “entourage” for quite a while now, Teddy was aware there were many people like him. If not like him, then maybe a little similar. If not bodyguards, then publicists, then personal assistants. If not those, then managers. They ran things from behind the scenes to make sure everything good happened to the celebrity and no harm came to them or their career. You would think his main concern was his client Tabitha Morning’s safety, but he had so many other things to think about too. What he had failed to notice was that he wasn’t the only one who had a life outside his work. It seemed now that everyone in Hollywood had their own big story even though their fame wasn’t too big.

Recently, he met a young woman almost just like himself. They had so much in common including their age and their parental status. It was on a warm day in Los Angeles when he was picking up his daughter Suzie from the daycare where her mother had dropped her off so she could go to work. Teddy hated leaving her there, so he left work early to go pick her up. Luckily, Tabitha didn’t need him too much that day so he had time to pick Suzie up and spend a little time with her before she went home with her mother. What he didn’t expect was to meet a young single mother who also happened to work in the entertainment industry as a personal manager. They surprisingly bonded really well, but something about her irked him to want to change a single part of her.

He was all for comfort and this young woman may have seemed okay with the way things were going now, but Teddy got the feeling that she needed to get out more. Teddy loved Suzie, but he needed time for himself sometimes too and he knew that Kaesyn Bale needed some for herself as well. Sadly, he couldn’t offer her a spa day, but he wanted to do something nice and in Teddy’s book, what he was about to do for her was “nice” is his twisted book. She had asked him plenty of times where they were going when he went to pick her up and got her in his car, but he didn’t answer her. ”It’s a surprise, okay?” He replied to her finally, hoping she wouldn’t think he was kidnapping her or something. Teddy looked too nice a guy to do something like that and even though these two had only known each other a week, there shouldn’t be any reason for her to assume he was a bad guy with cruel intentions, because he wasn’t one at all. Over the past week, they bonded over coffee, had a short play date over the weekend and now he knew her enough to decided she needed to leave her kid with a sitter and go have drinks with him. Maybe even let lose and dance a bit. She certainly had the body for it—don’t be surprised he checked her out—so he didn’t doubt she could be loads of fun if she wanted to be. It was just clear to him she just hadn’t had fun in a while.

He parked in front of the nightclub finally, unbuckling the seatbelt of his Audi before stepping out to walk around and open up the door for her. ”Plus, I know you wouldn’t have agreed to coming here if I told you where we were going.” Hopefully it wouldn’t be too rowdy in there for her taste, but at the same time, Teddy hoped it would be. The works of the nightlife was a little foreign to him now, especially now that he was with Tabitha Morning, so was his nightlife in a way. Or…many ways. ”We love our kids, but they don’t exist tonight, alright?”

Today hadn’t been all that bad of a day. Most of her days weren’t that bad actually. She’d had a meeting with Dominic and those were always fun. Add that to her lunch with Brady Hunter and a bunch of conference calls and she was more than satisfied at the amount of effort that she hadn’t put into the day. That was a rare thing in her time as a manager but she was thankful for it. Tonight, she had plans. Not plans to sit home and watch Disney movies with Tyler until he fell asleep, but actual plans. She was, however, a little skeptical about going out tonight. She had no reason to worry, as her regular baby sitter would be taking care of her son while she was gone. But she was. Why? Because she was actually going out. She couldn’t remember that last time she’d gone out and she hadn’t been working in some way. And, to top it off, she was going out with Teddy and he seemed to have some kind of missions. Men with missions always made good friends but it also meant they could easily pull you out of your comfort zone; and she knew that was exactly what he planned to do.

Kaesyn couldn’t remember the last time that she’d gone out and she definitely wasn’t ready for everything that went with going out. Sure, she’d gone out with clients a couple times but they were the center of attention and she didn’t have to worry about looking all cute. Tonight, she wasn’t sure where the hell Theodore was taking her. All she knew was that they were going out on the town and that she couldn’t bring her son. Honestly, she wasn’t sure why he hadn’t gone for the usual play date. Then again, it made complete sense. Kaesyn Anisse Bale was twenty-three years old and she was completely content with keeping herself locked up in her home with her son. It wasn’t normal for most people her age. At the same time, most people her age didn’t have two year old children. Being that she had way more to distract herself from than to actually concentrate on, her job and her son was all she needed. But that wasn’t healthy in more ways than one. And doing her best to avoid Evan in the very city that he had probably swore to take over, would age her more than smoking could.

Hopping out of the shower, she proceeded to get dressed. The only problem with that was that she had no idea where the hell they were going. Quickly, she sent a text to Teddy inquiring about what she should wear. His response was less than satisfactory. Of course she was going to be surprised, or else she wouldn’t have asked him. She quickly told him that he wasn’t much help at all. Eventually, she decided on jeans and a frilly, flirty top. If it wasn’t good enough for wherever they were going, he would have to deal with it. There was nothing crueler than telling a woman they were going somewhere and not telling her what she could and could not wear. Getting over the lack of information, she welcomed the babysitter into the house and said goodbye to her favorite man in the world just as Teddy walked up to her door. Getting in the car, she found it easy to make conversation. That was never that hard when she was around people she actually had something in common with. ”You gonna tell me where we’re going now?” she tossed the question into the conversation effortlessly. She was already in the car, it wasn’t like she could back out of wherever they just happened to go. Kae smiled brightly, hoping that would help her get an actual answer.

Pulling up to the nightclub, Kae got a little nervous. She hadn’t been here in years…two to be exact. And she’d been here with Evan. This wasn’t a good idea. Though, she couldn’t tell Teddy that. All she could do was have a good time. It wouldn’t be that hard though. If someone wanted to have fun, even just a little bit, Monastery was the place to go. Placing a genuine smile on her face, she laughed. ”If you’d told me you were bringing here before I’d gotten dressed, I wouldn’t have been too happy.” Getting out of the car, she nodded at his last remark. ”I’ll try to remember that. Not making any promises.” she spoke with a smile as they headed for the door.

Teddy would have been surprised she even trusted him like that, considering he hadn’t even spoken a word of where they were headed nor did this girl know him long enough to assure to herself that nothing could go wrong. You would think a womanizer like himself wouldn’t win the heart of someone like Kaesyn so soon, but he did. They went from acquaintances to friends in less than a day. It wasn’t that hard since they both had so much to talk about, seeing as how much they had in common. Plus, he never gave her any reason not to trust him, so he really shouldn’t be surprised at this point. Teddy in fact was a man with a mission…it just didn’t involve getting in her pants, which would surely be a plus, but he wasn’t going to even think of getting his hopes up about that. He wanted to show this girl a good time: something she hadn’t had in a while—or so it seems. And no, he wasn’t expecting her to go rowdy and all-out wild, but he did wish she would loosen up…maybe make her comfort zone a little narrower.

He was at least just a little relieved she was thinking about herself when she texted him. Not about her job or her kid. It was about what she should wear. All he had done was smile and text back a simple, “Whatever you feel like wearing.” Honestly, no attire was unfit. If you looked good in it, you could probably make anything work. ”If your outfit is the only thing you’re worried about, then you’ll be fine.” He walked forward with her, ”And you look great.” He figured he might as well add that since she made a remark about attire twice now. ”That’s all I ask!” He opened up the door and walked after her, leaning over the bar with his hands on the counter, as he demanded two drinks to the bartender who greeted Teddy, a familiar customer here at Monastery.
