Out of impulse she had left the set with a bogus excuse to escape from the whole ordeal. A rare thing for her as she was a confrontational person at best. She didn't run away often, but this overwhelmed her. She didn't want to face the humiliation and defeat by looking at the smug look on Rylands face. She had won, she was the one Ray had chosen. After all the mess created by his visit to Arizona. The rsentment and aminosity towards Ryland had started then. The little green monster had made an appearance when Ryland had returned from their trip, Jo had been sullen the remainder of the day. It was understandable that Jo would be upset. After all she had slept with Ray prior and had no word from him since. She took out her feelings on Ryland, indirectly. She made no effort to socialise with her and was only civilise on set. It was ironic that her character worshipped the ground Ryland walked on when in reality she couldn't stand to be around her. The tension was aobvious on set and their argument scene was a little reprieve from the pent up anger she was feeling. The emotion behind those words weren't fake but it was her way of getting things off her chest. She would hate to be unprofessional and create something on set and ruin everyones experience. Though that didn't stop her from making things as hard as possible for Ryland. But now she was back on set after flying back to LA for a while, to get her head straight. She was still more than pissed at the embarassment she had faced that day, she just hoped she didn't bump into Ryland beforehand. She knew she would only blow up if she saw the girls face. Jolene was not her friend on set, and even though the girl never said anything to her about Ray or any of the feelings she was harboring towards her or the situation, Ryland could definitely tell that Jolene didn’t care for her. It was easy to tell. Ryland tried to stay out of her way most of the time, and she didn’t understand how any of her issues had anything to do with her. It wasn’t exactly her fault that the guy Jolene slept with decided to have a crush on her and then ask her to be his girlfriend. She had always been the person that got walked all over when she hadn’t done anything wrong. This time she was going to stand up for herself and do what she wanted to without taking into considering how a person that didn’t even like her was going to affected. That didn’t stop the tinge of guilt she felt when she opened the door to the set and saw Jolene sitting in a chair. Jolene probably thought Ryland was mean, that was a bitch. The truth was that Ryland wasn’t familiar with confrontation, she felt terrible when she caused anybody else heartache. She was a mess when it came to other people really. She didn’t think enough of herself to have any type of righteousness over anybody, and despite being a star and having and Oscar nomination under her belt, she didn’t think she was any better than any body else. She walked onto the set, closing the door quietly behind her and kept her eyes on Jolene in hopes that she hadn’t seen her come in, if the girl were to look at her she would simply look away. She didn’t like being on set when Jolene was there. The girl didn’t even have to say anything to make her feel bad about herself, she just had to give her a certain look that seemed to be permanently on her face anymore. She felt like she was cheating death as she stepped on unnoticed, eventually it would apparent Ryland was there but hopefully by that time they had jumped into a scene. She was definitely happy to in a relationship though, Jolene couldn’t take that away from her. She could feel the eyes of the crew and actors who weren't doing anything remotely productive. She shrugged it off as paranoia but then she heard a whisper. Ryland just turned up Jo's head snapped up then, wanting to make sure they weren't messing with her and just saying that to get tot her. But no, there she was, she wasn't looking at Jo so she took that time to look her up and down in distaste. She didn't know what Ray possibly saw in this girl, compared to herself she was hardly comparable. But perhaps that was jealousy talking, it probably was. The little green monster had become her best friend in the coming days. There was always something bitter to say about Ryland, whether it was about her appearance or just something she did. Jo was hardly ever this cruel and mean but she was fueled by the need to express her anger. Trashing Ray's apartment wasn't enough. She waited it out, giving themselves some space. She didn't want to create a scene and make things even more awkward for her fellow cast mates. But watching her talking with the others as if nothing was wrong, as if everything was fucking dandy. It pissed her off, and the anger continued to boil within her, slowly rising to the surface. And just when Jo thought she couldn't keep it any longer and was just about ready to jump down the girls throat the director yelled cut and was already calling Ryland and her names out. They were going to be filming the fight scene. How fitting, Jo scoffed lightly. She dropped her light jacket and made her way to the set, paying no attention to Ryland. Jo had managed to calm herself down, she had to be professional, she was on the clock. She wasn't the type to screw around when it cam to doing her job. Make-up did something with her face, freshening it up or something like that and then the cameras were on her, the surroundings were hushed and the director began to count down in mime. She didn't see what the big deal with. Ray and Jolene had slept together and he wasn't interested and so she moved on, or she let everyone think she had moved on to Dale. Which was unfortunate for Dale because he rarely dated anyone, and then when he finally does it's a girl still hung up on a guy she slept with once or twice. She would have loved to stand up to the girl, tell her to get the fuck over it, tell her to focus on Dale and get out of her love life that had been nonexistent for a long time. But that wasn't in her nature, she couldn't stand up for herself, she never could. When she was with Ray she had a good time, as did he. She had a childlike personality, care free. They were relaxed when they were together, not worried about other things. They were also very supportive of one another. She wasn't going to bother Jolene, she felt like if she said anything to the girl she would take it the wrong way. She had been okay with Jolene, but it was hard to feel okay with her anymore. The looks that she gave her were piercing, and although her voice sounded friendly her eyes were condescending. Ryland actually thought that the girl was some form of crazy. She had known plenty of guys that had a girl still hung up on them and acting out in order to get their attention. That's what Jolene was to Ryland. When she was around Jolene she felt like she wasn't allowed to herself, knowing that the girl was judging her. It probably would have been much easier if the girl just expressed her feelings rather then giving them off with her looks and body language. A little honesty would have been nice. Acting was the only place she felt strong, and that's what the two girls were about to do "act". Acting was something that people didn't take personally, at least most of the time, sometimes it was hard to tell if a scene was real or fake or if the actors really did have animosity towards each other or not. Jolene and Ryland's characters didn't like each other, which was only going to make for something more interesting. Jolene looked at Ryland with hatred, but when those cameras turned on and the director queued them to start their scene something within the small blonde girl clicked. She looked at Jolene with a righteous look on her face, her eyes strong, piercing the girl right back. Her character had a self-righteously arrogant personality, which was fitting for now, but definitely not Ryland's personality. Maybe what she needed was to channel her inner Jessie Lyons in front of Jolene, enough to stand up to her. She took a step closer to Jolene, "What is your problem? Oh, get that look off of your face, you need to get over it." Which was dialogue, but she meant every word of it.
