deeper perspective STRENGTHS ATHLETIC - before acting, jasper was really into his sports, playing baseball and tennis in his teenage years. although now he's more focused on his career and sports have taken a bit of a back seat in his life, they haven't been eradicated completely. although he doesn't have as much time as he used to, he still plays tennis when he can. it's how he gets rid of stress. if he hadn't become an actor then he probably would've tried to pursue a career as a professional tennis player. INTELLIGENT - jasper isn't a genius or anything like that, but going through high school - all three of them actually - he was never at the bottom of his classes. he's the type of person that wants to learn. most people would assume that from moving around as much as he did back then would mean that he wouldn't have done so well in school, but he's a great example that proves that to be false. he went to college and did well there too. HARD WORKING - the saying goes that the best things in life are free, but that's not really true is it? the best things in life normally come to those who have worked hard enough to earn them... at least, that's jasper's theory. he doesn't just sit around and wait for things to come to him, because he knows that the chances of that happening are next to none. he goes out of his way to make himself stand out from the crowd because he wants to do well. FOCUSED - once he sets his mind to it, jasper tries not to let anything distract him from his goal. if he wants something, then he's going to try and get it no matter what. he isn't one to get easily distracted and so nine times out of ten, when he says that he'll do something, the chances are that he's going to do it. GENTLEMAN - jasper's tendencies to be a gentlemen come from his father, who - if anyone asked - jasper would say is his role model. he's looked up to his father his entire life and thinks that if he could be half the man his dad was then he'd be happy. jasper has grown up to be chivalrous, courteous and honorable thanks to his father pushing him in the right directions as he was growing up. WEAKNESSES FOCUSED - being focused can work both ways. sometimes jasper can be too focused on things, meaning that he shuts himself away from the outside world... friends, family and and other people included. he pushes plans back so that he can finish what he's started, sometimes more than once. he's lost friends because of it in the past. TRIES TOO HARD - jasper works for what he wants, but sometimes that backfires on him. when he wants something, he'll stop at almost nothing to get it, which can make him come off as a little needy. he doesn't mean to, but that's just the way he is. if he senses that things might be going down a path that he doesn't want them to, he's going to try his hardest to make sure it doesn't happen. sometimes it works, but other times it just means that things get messed up quicker. JEALOUS - he's only human. everyone gets jealous, it just takes jasper a little longer to get over his jealousy... to come to terms with it. most people think that he has absolutely no reason to be jealous, but the grass is never greener on the other side. there are things in life that he wants, some of which are achievable and others that he knows aren't possible at all but that doesn't stop him from wanting them. ...FIDGETY - okay so there is probably a better word to describe this, but fidgety is such a great word, don't you think?! anyway, moving around a lot when he was younger has meant that now he has a bit of a hard time staying in one place. he tends to get bored of things and has to shake them up a little because although he got used to moving around a lot, he doesn't actually want to do it anymore. SHY - although jasper's the kind of guy who puts himself out there, wanting to make himself known for what he does, it's all an act... they're not called 'actors' for nothing. truth is, the guy is pretty shy. he'll blush and look away at certain things, trying to hide it, but it's pretty obvious most of the time. SKILLS jasper's main talent is acting. he's pretty good at it, otherwise he wouldn't really be doing what he does. he's only been acting since he was twenty, mostly small roles, but before that he did some modeling to help pay his way through college. apart from that, something else that jasper is really into is his sports, mainly tennis, which was what he wanted to do when he was growing up. jasper hastings... the only child of a US army colonel and a housewife, was born in miami, florida, although over the years he's lived in a lot of places, thanks to what his dad does for a job. he doesn't resent his dad though... in fact jasper looks up to him for doing what he does and basically just being who he is. over the years, jasper has lived in florida, kansas, minnesota, arizona, texas due to his dad's job before moving to new york to attend new york university, majoring in dramatic literature. he attended two elementary schools, one middle school and two high schools before attending NYU so it's safe to say he moved around a lot before moving to los angeles after he graduated.

throughout all of his schooling life, jasper took part in plays and productions, both in school and out of school. because he moved around a lot, he didn't really ever get known well enough in the schools for him to get the main parts, but at least he was in them. in jasper's eyes, the best part he ever got to play was mercutio in his first high school's production of romeo and juliet. he'd originally tried out for the part of romeo, but was offered mercutio and happily took it.

as well as acting, he also took part in sports, mainly tennis, which he was considering to take seriously until an injury when he was seventeen decided otherwise. his parents had always been supportive of him when he'd wanted to play sports professionally. however when he veered more towards acting, they had their doubts. the chances of him succeeding in that line of work were even slimmer than being a professional sportsman, but they could see it was what he wanted to do and it didn't take long for them to come around to the idea.

by the time jasper did graduate, he'd already got some small parts in movies and television shows here and there, but nothing too serious. in 2007 he'd auditioned for the part of 'edward cullen' in 'twilight', but didn't get the part which is probably a good thing.[/size][/div][/td][/tr]
