Her big black eyes were wide open and wandering all around the people around her. Dressed in a vintage dress, she was shivering, but not from the cold. Outside there, where all the people were, was definitely cold, but here, where the celebrities were, was not. She was shivering, because she was boundlessly happy to be where she was. Her friend Raynold Graves did not know for sure how happy she was that he gave her his pass. It was free, and there were no tickets, but not anyone could enter this party. And she was astronomically thankful to the same guy. That was Summer. She was not that excited because that was her first big party at which she was surrounded by so many famous people that could help her on her way into the industry. Well, partly because of that, but mostly because it was one of her biggest dreams. She and Alaska – her best friend – moved out from Newcastle upon Tyne in UK straight into the flat of Summer’s old friend Ray. They knew each other for years – long before he started wandering around the USA; they hung around with the same people; they grew up together. Raynold Graves just got back from Moscow and went straight to Los Angeles, and for that reason he was glad to give away his flat in New York to Summer and Alaska. So, the two girls were not jumping from hotel to hotel while they were looking for their own place. Plus, they were taking care of Jersey, Ray’s golden retriever. “I think I’m going to faint,” said Alaska looking around with her shining eyes. Summer grinned at her and put her hand around her shoulders. She was so happy that she had the chance to greet the new year witt one of her closest people. She was sad that Ray and her dad were not here, but Alaska’s presence compensated it all. “Wait, wait, wait,” Summer murmured into her friend’s ear, “Isn’t that Joseph Gordon-Levitt?” Alaska almost screamed out loud, “Where? Where? Show me!” The man was Alaska’s favorite actor and she was ready to kill a man just to meet him. Now that he was here and she had the chance to speak to him was her biggest dream coming true. “Over there,” the dark-haired girl pointed in the middle of the crowd. “Fuck it, I’m going to speak to him,” Alaska said after she focused him. “Go, girl! Go,” Summer almost sang to her. “Aren’t you coming with me?” the girl asked her friend looking at her suspiciously. It was not that Summer was not a friend of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, too. “I’m going to take drinks,” she answered, and then chuckled after Alaska nodded at her and quickly melted into the crowd of people after her biggest love. Summer made her way to the nearest bar stopping here and there to great some faces which Ray introduced to her before. She was not that popular yet, but people could remember her face - often she was the most smiling and shining person they had ever met. The young girl leaned on the bar and after the bartender caught her eyes, he quickly went to her. “Whiskey. Small.” Summer said and then quickly added “Two.” Alaska would definitely need a shot after the most important encounter in her life. I HOPE I'LL BE HIT BY MORE MUSE FOR MY NEXT POSTS, LOVE! |
