This action of him showed for a serial time this night that he was a real gentleman; one of those that that were near extinction. Nowadays, it was hard to find a man from that specific phylum – to open doors to a lady, to yield his coat in a cold night to warm her, to pay when it was necessary. However, Siana was not needy. She earned enough money to live a normal life. There were those times when she indulged things above the average rate of living, but she always had to make her compromises; and there were also another periods during which she could not afford many really important things. Siana was balancing pretty well with her finances for more than half of a year. She was living with her three years old son Radoslav at a small apartment -- it was like four tiny rooms at the attic. But she loved them from the first time she saw them, and after she moved in she was proud with her home in red and white – arranged by her. It was her home; it was her stronghold. Siana was doing well with the money she was earning from her job as a make-up artist – she was regular in paying the rent; Rado had anything he needed, so his young mother was. They also had a car – a bit old and out of order, but still a car, though Siana preferred walking on foot. Sia was having a great time with Samson. She was sure every single woman would feel this way if only had the chance to be right on her place at this moment, but she still could not figure it out how his ex-wife could be that blind. Siana was sure that Delilah was already feeling sorry for leaving this kind of man. Samson Fletcher was the most affable gentleman any person could have in his life; he was undiscovered treasure and this had nothing in common with his material affluence. Siana could see way deeper inside of him than other people did, and if only Samson wanted to give her the chance to feel him, she could do it. Siana could feel Samson in the purest and the cleanest meaning of the word. "What's wrong, Siana?", he asked her. Siana slowly took a very deep breath, and then exhaled without trying to be quiet. Her big brown eyes finally met Samson’s eyes – a magnificent mixture of green and grey, and blue; eyes as deep as the ocean or the sky, or Sam’s soul. She finally found strength enough to start speaking to him again. “You told me so many personal things that now… I owe you my story”… or just a part of it, she thought, while she was smiling sheepishly at him. “It is not something I’m proud of, to be honest. It does not fascinate people; it chases them away. That is what is wrong.” She quietly cleared her throat before beginning to speak. “I… I met my son’s father, like, five years ago. Everything was alright until he, Charlie, became famous – it screwed up that thing we had between us”. She wasn't sure whether Samson had heard of Chaz or not, but he probably had heard of him - he was the lead singer of a punk rock band called The Asters -- still quite popular. Charlie was self-centered, persistent and made Siana feel significantly inferior. But she loved him. Charlie also loved Siana, but his way of living like a rock star compelled his attention, his health and commonly his behavior. „Even though it wasn’t planned, being pregnant changed me. It didn’t work out this way with him”. She was talking about their drugs and alcohol addiction during touring around Europe and The USA. While Charlie couldn’t get rid of his self-destructive habits, Siana stopped getting stoned only because of the baby. Frankly, she wasn’t feeling ready to be a mother, but to take somebody else’s life, to kill him repelled her. Later she felt that she wanted that child and that she already loved it with all her heart and soul. Many people run away exactly here – when they have heard of her most rebellious period of her life. When a person meet this woman for a first time, he couldn’t even think of her dealing with drugs problems, alcohol parties, world tours in a rock band bus and all that jazz. Siana did not have the courage to take the plunge of telling everything in details to Samson; it was hard for her to admit it, but she was scared of frightening him. She didn’t want her not so pinky past to drive him away from her as it had done with so many men before him -- this time it would kill her. “During our last grandiose scandal – a few months after our child was born – Charlie hit me… several times”, her voice was shaking, and then she left a few seconds in a complete silence before continuing with a high-pitched voice. “And that was the end. We were only torturing ourselves”, she smiled sadly at Samson. "That's it. Now we are quits." Still being scared of his reaction, Sia took a piece of her candy cotton between her forefinger and her thumb, but she didn’t put it in her mouth. Although Siana was just staring at her sweet treat on the outside, she was screaming on the inside. |
