Nicholas is a very lovable person. He is always there for people. He actually likes always being the shoulder to lean on. He never really has many problems, and when he does, he keeps them to himself, but that doesn't hinder his want to help other people with their problems. It's kind of strange to other people. He doesn't mind the things that most people find annoying. Helping people gives him a feeling of hope in the world. He's started helping people once he understood what had happened to his sister. He felt like there should have been something someone could have done to make her live, though there was nothing. The outcome of this, though, isn't negative. He doesn't go to any outrageous lengths to help people, but donating to charities and listening to people's problems is the way that he feels he's making up for it subconsciously. He also likes being the secret keeper. Probably for the wrong reason, though. He likes holding the power of someone else's secret in his hands, though he knows he would never share one.

He is also someone who enjoys fun. He loves to go out and party. He can go out and dance and drink while still managing not to be an asshole. He doesn't really change when he drinks. He is quite the opposite of his brother, who tends to be the most disrespectful person he's ever seen. That is probably the reason he makes sure that he is always a gentleman. He knows how to be a good guy and still have fun. He always makes sure that he's a lovable person but not that boring guy. His only major downfall is that he is a drug addict. He's been addicted to marijuana for about a year now. He tries to hide it from anyone and finds himself smoking whenever he's alone that way he can avoid the withdrawal symptoms without having to tell anyone. He doesn't like to talk about his problems and that is one he is definitely keeping to himself.

history evaluated. Nicholas was the first born child from Sarah and Daniel Van Der Bilt. They were a wealthy family, so Nick was use to being showered with gifts from birth. That actually never changed when the rest of his siblings were born. He had a loving family that he wouldn't change for the world. He had just about a perfect childhood. He had brothers and sisters that he fought with, but by the end of the day they could all get along without problems. When Nick was five the first tragedy and quite possibly the most confusing happened to him. His parents had told him that he was going to be having another brother and he was pretty excited about it, actually. He wanted to be an older brother again. Then when he thought he was about to be that older brother again his parents got home and told him that he wasn't going to be big brother again. He didn't understand what was happening. His parents told him that he was going to be brother again, but now he wasn't? That didn't make any sense.

It took Nicholas a long time to understand what had happened. He was too young to understand that his mother had lost the baby and that it wasn't coming back. He also didn't understand for a long time why his parents were so upset. The next child that was born was Delilah and he had been even happier to be an older brother again. He had been a big help in raising Delilah. He was always really close to her. She was always his best friend as he grew up. She was always there to tell him to stop doing the bad things, like drugs and smoking, and she was actually the only onw that knows about his problem with drugs. Everyone knows that he does drugs, but she knows how bad his problem is. He was addicted and he knew it. He hated it, but he didn't want everyone to know, so he tried to keep it as under wraps as he could. None of his other siblings, or even his friends, know just how bad it is.

He's been going back and forth from Los Angeles to New York City for years. His parents have their home in New York, but Nick has his in LA and he ventures back and forth to pursue his career. He got into his career because of his parents of course. He's actually just gotten back into his career after taking a break to take care of his mother while his father was off filming. His mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and while she was in the hospital receiving treatment he always wanted to be with her because his siblings and father were always busy. He was never putting his work before his family. Her treatment was ending for a while, which is why he was back into his career, happily. He loved his job and earning his own money rather than using others for money.
