sweeter than heaven
hotter than hell

The last time Devon had flirted with an actor, he turned out to be a total prick. Which really wasn't that big of a surprise. Everyone had told her he was a weirdo. But Devon hadn't cared or listen. As always. Besides work with no play makes a dull, dull life. Devon climbed out of bed, not even bothering to look at the time. She'd finally gotten over her jet lag from her trip to Europe and then New York. But she still woke up at odd hours in the night. Today though, she was up before 6 in order to get ready for her first job since she'd been back. Someone had called her a number of nights ago, asking if she wanted to take over costume design for a new movie since the previous designer had "sucked to hell". Devon took the job, seeing nothing else she could do with her life right now. But she was glad she did once she laid her eyes on Leonardo Harrison. Of course, almost every other girl had their eyes on him too. But she got to find out his measures. And got his number yesterday. Which made Devon smile all the way home. In a silly, kiddish way. But Devon was kiddish in so many ways. She climbed into her shower, feet dragging and still half asleep. She watched the sun rise from her bedroom window, only getting dressed once it had fully risen.
After slipping on a plain, white, loose fitting shirt and her favorite low rise jeans she made her way to the front of the house to grab her keys, purse and slip some shoes on. She briskly walked to her car, scolding herself for dumbly forgetting a jacket, even a light jacket. But too lazy to head back inside to dig for one. Most of her favorite outfits were still in her luggage bags that lay open and unzipped in the middle of her room. Yes, Devon could be quite lazy.
Once she got to the set, she ducked her head and pretended to busy on her phone. The worst way to start off her day was to be bossed around right away. She hated when people tried to add their own flair to her clothes. It was her job after all to make the outfits, not theirs. She didn't care how big of a hot shot they were. People who requested her eventually learned to be happy that she at least got their requirements in at all.
Devon grabbed a cup of coffee from the beverage table and poured sugar into it. She wasn't a fan of coffee but her mother had been right, she came to at least like it enough to drink it. Devon really wished she didn't need coffee this early. And the fact that her hideous mother had been right. Even years after running away from home Devon still remembered all the things her mother had told her. Devon gritted her teeth, forcing the nasty thoughts away, throwing out the empty sugar packets and carefully brushing the corner of the table she used to distract her mind. She found it horribly pathetic how much thoughts of her mother still affected her. It didn't happen a lot but when Devon remembers her mother she nearly loses any self control she has. Not to mention that she was damn sure her parents knew where she was now since Devon had finally made a name for herself, credit had to be given to being friends with an A-lister though. That helped pull some strings to get her to the top. She was sure her parents saw her on the magazine when she made the cover. But gladly made no contact with her. Not that they could. She'd told the company her parents were dead to her.
She took a sip of the poisonous drink and grimaced a little, forcing the liquid down her throat. Even with the amount of sugar and cream she put it the taste still made her cringe. She muttered out a curse when the coffee burned her tongue, "Damn it." She sighed, sticking her tongue out to try and see the spot. Which was impossible. She pouted slightly before picking her cup up and ducking her head once again, only to run into someone's chest. Being short really wasn't any fun, she thought to herself as she peeked up, "What the hell." She snapped out. Her temper was still simmering. And she'd never really ran into anyone before. So she felt slightly embarrassed since it was her fault for not looking up.
