Gwen Pastino was a busy busy busy just turned nineteen year old. She was superwoman though, she had been able to hangle juggling fifty different things since middle school. Acting had always been her passion, so plays and rehearsal took up her life then, and then as she became more involved with chior and other clubs in high school she decided to juggle all of that with school work and acting even within her community. Being from Jersey, New York City wasn't fair away, and she visited the Big Apple with her family and knew that was where she wanted to spend the rest of her life, as an actress in movies and on Broadway. Half way through high school she decided to attend a performing arts school to launch her career. Upon graduating she moved to NYC to persue an off Broadway gig in a musical, which still became insanely popular. She also auditioned for the movie Split Decisions and landed herself a lead role along side Jack Bailey. And with all of that, she still wanted to obtain a degree in Musical Theatre at NYU.
The fall came, and she found herself done with filming, running to auditions for musicals every morning, hopping on the subway to school after those auditions, going to rehearsals after school, and staying up late nights to do homework. Oh, AND she had a boyfriend to keep happy. Their relationship was so tame, that it was more a relief than a burden, which is exactly how a relationship should be anyway. But, if you couldn't tell, she had more than enough on her plate. The petite Italian brunette knew that she needed time for herself. It was the weekend, and NYC is always hopping. So what did she decide to do? Karaoke.
Karaoke had been her favorite hobby for...forever. Since singing was one of her many passions, karaoke was a chance for her to do so, while not being judged. Which, being a musical theatre major, it was nice to not be judged. Her voice was the only musical instrument she knew how to play, and she knew how to play it damn well. She had amazing range, and even though her strongest songs were from musicals, because she was a belter, she opted to sing a more karaoke friendly song on this night. "My lonliness is killing me...and I...I must confess I still believe, still believe, when i'm not when you I lose my mind, give me a sign, hit me baby one more time!" Yes, a classic Britney song. Her first big hit. Britney Spears was iconic, and Gwen, the Broadway lover, could not deny that fact. Plus, the other people in the karaoke club were enjoying themselves singing along with her.
Our dear sweet Gwen went to this specific club because she was innocent, and it wasn't particulary sleezy. Anyone she met here would have to approach her with the best intentions.
