personality evaluated.
Deep down, Ace is a good guy. Kind of. He doesn't intentionally hurt people, but inevitably does because of his inability to make the right choice. He has everyone's best interest at heart, but definitely has the tendency to be a good bit selfish when dealing with other people. If he's not happy, generally, no one else is happy either, and though he won't admit it, that's the way he likes it. Most of the time he's a level-headed guy, calm, a roll with the punches type of person. He does like being in charge, but can take orders as long as there is some respect for the person giving them. He won't take orders from anyone inferior to him, it just doesn't make sense. On the outside he might seem extremely self absorbed, but on the inside not so much. He does think highly of himself, but he's not above giving someone a helping hand when they desperately need it. He was raised with the idea of survival of the fittest, and even though he doesn't stay devoutly true to this social Darwinism, it is a factor in how he holds himself in day to day activities. He likes to be noticed, but usually won't go out of his way to grab attention - his body does that on its own.
Ace would like to think he has a temper, and he probably does, but under a thick coating of "I'm better than you" lies a softer layer. He has a soft side that's easy to tap into once you know where to tap. He can be tender and loving, though his wife hasn't seen that in a couple years out of him. He's a devoted person, and enjoys his job as a director, therefore he puts for the utmost effort for it. This has taken a huge toll on his marriage, but he tries diligently to hide it on set. He's focused, and when he's in the zone it's difficult to distract him. Ace is a fun-loving guy, though he hasn't shown it in a while due to his failing marriage. He can be somewhat of a gloomy person if things aren't going well despite his attempt at an upbeat mood. He has been known to have a wicked tongue for those that frustrate him, so he's usually not opposed to telling you what you need to hear, or what he thinks you deserve. If you piss him off, you'll probably know. For the most part he can control himself, but don't put it past him to keep his mouth entirely shut. He's used to getting what he wants out of life, so he doesn't tolerate people standing in his way. His methods of removing you from his path aren't always wholesome, either.

history evaluated.
Chace "Ace" Edwards was the first born to a set of parents who would spoil the shit out of him. He was the only one of their children who was planned, therefore he was the favorite. He grew up in the All-American house: his parents raked in the cash and dished it out on the things that made their son happy. He never went without, though his parents did make a point of teaching him to be humble and not greedy, a lesson that would stick with him. He was exceptionally smart when it came time for him to attend school. He was always somewhere near the top of his class, never absolute best, but always up there. His father taught him baseball when he was young, and he caught on like a natural, going on to play for his middle school, high school, and college teams. Most people, during middle school and sometimes high school, hit an awkward phase in their development. Most people would argue that Chace never hit that phase. He always seemed untouchable and infallible. It was only that way because he made it seem so - he had flaws just like everyone else, but he'd been taught to hide them for the image of his family.
He was never particularly close to his siblings, and they only distanced as they branched out in high school. He was the athlete, and Mr. Popularity. His sister was the thespian, and his younger brother was the trouble maker. He was, of course, absolutely fine with all of this, considering they only made him look that much better while cowering in the shadows of the school's favorite stud. He was rich, talented, and attractive, anything a high schooler could ask for. He was happy with his life, why wouldn't he be? At least until his high school graduation came. It was then he was informed by his parents of an agreement made when he was born. Family friends, the ones that lived down the street, the ones he grew up beside and hated for his entire life, had made an arrangement for him. Their daughter, who had been in his grade, and one of his worst enemies for years was the woman he had to marry. This girl was the queen bee of the complete opposite clique. Sure, she was the most popular girl in school.. sporty, fun, hot, smart.. but it was like from first glance, she and Ace were sworn enemies. The entire school thought they were hooking up behind everyone's backs, but they really weren't. Those dirty looks were just hatred, not lust.
Something about money, and how they didn't want to lose anything when Chace couldn't commit to it. They didn't want the legal mess of a prenuptial agreement, but they didn't want to lose their family fortune either - so they did the next best thing. They married him off to someone just as rich as they were, so hopefully, if the marriage fell apart they wouldn't lose a cent. Of course Ace was furious, and it took every spare second of convincing to get him to even sit down to talk to her like a civil person. After half an hour of irate glares and hateful stares, the ice broke and the two actually found themselves engrossed in a conversation, neither one annoyed or frustrated any longer by the presence of the other. They seemed to click fairly well, having both decided to give the other a chance. After that, it was basically history. They were married and lived happily ever after. Not.
Chace quit his baseball career to model, which only last a year or two, then he was scouted for a movie. After acting in several, very tiny roles he decided, without question, he wanted to direct. He went back to school for it and was on the fast track to becoming what he knew he wanted to be, using his vision to bring excitement to other people. He never saw himself being in the arts, but he wouldn't give up his job for the world: not even his wife. As he became more and more devoted, he spent less and less time at home. This led to him drifting away from his wife, telling her less about what was going on until the communication between them virtually came to a stand still, and so did the sex. And that's when the affair flared up. It was just a simple mistake - he was showing an actress how he wanted a particular scene done, and he ended up in a dressing room with her five minutes later getting down and dirty. He has yet to tell his wife about the affair, and has yet to ask for a divorce.
While filming on set one day, he was caught with his mistress and the affair was forced to an end. Ace telling his wife soon followed, which resulted in divorce. During their divorce, they ended up sleeping together and Lindsay ended up pregnant. She still decided to leave him, and now he feels guiltier than ever.
